Our trip was January 26-February 3
CAST:
Amy: Disneyland Veteran. Went to Disneyworld 8 years ago, HATED IT! Now I am in charge of vacations and I know not to go during spring break and to fork over the extra cash and stay onsite.
Brian: DH...Likes, not loves, Disney. But his life motto is..."A happy wife is a happy life" so he takes his family to Disneyland often. He is a Disneyworld virgin.
Connor: DS 4. Can be a Disneyland tour guide.
Ben: DS 2 almost 3 he's free!!!
Day 2 January 27
Mickey and that annoying Stitch rings to wake us (I mean me) up at the dreaded time of 6:15am. As I lay in my bed I do my disney mantra, Disney will not conquer me I will conquer Disney! I am all set to get out of bed at this ungodly hour. I pry Ben's feet off of my body (those double beds are too small so we split up the kids and sleep with them) and walk quietly to the closet they call a bathroom at Pop. After my shower I am still tiptoeing aroung to not disturb anyone, but then I think if I have to be up this early Brian better be getting up, so I blow dry my hair. This wakes Brian up and we know all take turns dancing around each other as we get ready next to the vanity. Its 7:00 now so we wake the boys up and we get them ready. But its Florida so we check the forecast in the morning because that's what we do when we're on vacation. Every weather forecast is different but all of them call for morning fog! FOG! You have got to be kidding me, we just left California where for the past 2 weeks we have not seen sun, just dense, misty, pea soup fog! I look out the window and yep its foggy outside. I mope for a minute but get excited because I'm in Disneyworld! We're off!
We decide to take the car to MK because that's what the CM's told us to do and since we were getting there before opening there were no buses to take anyway. BTW we don't use the Pop buses once during our entire trip, hey we're from California we can't live without cars! We get to park right in front at the TTC, this will be the ony time on our entire trip, show the CM our tickets and hop on the express monorail. The loudspeaker is telling us about the lagoon but we can't see a thing because of this fog! We arrive at MK and walk briskly to the entrance. After figuring out those biometric scanners we are in the MK! We walk down main street and we can't even see the castle! The fog is so thick we can only see 10 feet in front of us! Its ok we go to CP and eat with Pooh and the gang. The breakfast is good but we are all in a rush to get out and explore the park. The characters come around in little time so we are in and out by 9:00.
We dash out of CP and the fog has cleared we can see the castle! It is so beautiful, we get a quick pic of the boys and we're off! We got a date with Peter Pan (later on I will regret not taking more pictures of the castle because the rest of our trip there is a giant crane in the background
)
Since Peter Pan is always crazy busy at Disneyland as soon as the park opens we are surprised when we find it empty! Its 9:05 where are all the people? We ride Peter Pan not once, not twice, but three times without waiting in a line! I'm loving that automatic entry into the ships and I think it looks fresher than DL's. By our third trip the CM asks us if we would like to go again but we were ready for Pooh. That ride is better here too! OK i'm thinking MK is winning by a landslide and I've only rode 2 rides. We ride SW, better here, and then go to Philharmagic, AWESOME! DL has got to get this. WE finish fantasyland and head over to HM, that ride is freaky, we normally ride HM in DL when its decorated for Nightmare Before Christmas, so I always forget how spooky it is when its normal. I must say I prefer HM at DL dressed up or not. I ride Splash with Connor while Brian stays with Ben, great! Throughout the trip Connor is pointing at all the differences between our DL and this, too funny! Finish fronteirland and go on Pirates. While waiting in line my boys are already singing yo ho yo ho.... while the 5 year old behind us is freaking out. Gramma tells the boy look at those little kids they're not scared, etc... I feel bad and want to say, they have been raised on POC but don't. Like everyone says we were disappointed in POC, DL is far superior (this is the only ride I that is though)! Finish Adventureland and off to Buzz!
I put Ben in his stroller and we take off for tomorrowland. Ben is out by the time we hit Buzz, so Brian takes Connor on it. Ben sleeps through Buzz, and space mountain. When I get off Space Mountain I notice Ben is up but he dooesn't have pants on just a pull up. Ask Brian what's up? Ben (who was just potty trained 2 weeks before our trip and had on undies) had an accident while sleeping. Of course we brought a pull up but for some reason no extra pants
. Not to let that stop us we took him on Buzz and then we left the MK with our little guy pantless
It was a sight and if I was savy enough I would post the pic. It was nap time anyways so we went back to Pop.
Later in the evening we go to Epcot for EMH and enjoy our time. Test track was fun! We were all hungry so we ate in Japan, it was OK, nothing to write home about. We explore a couple of countries but to be honest we're tired so we watch Illuminations (amazing) and head out with the rest of the crowds. WE stop to do Figment, kids loved it! Then headed back to Pop.
