We're going back to AKL!

I just got off the phone and made our reservations for a last minute trip. Thought we might not get to stay at WDW this summer since my son has so much going on with baseball and hockey and we must schedule around that as well as around a trip to New York that we are taking in July. I admit I didn't call right away when the discounts were released, so that is my own fault. Every configuration of days I tried were unavailable with a Fl Resident discount at WL and AKL until today. We are going back to AKL in two weeks! We went there two summers ago and had a savannah view room. This time we are booked with a standard room, but I am sure we will be happy just to be back!

Anyone been there lately? Do they still have zebra domes? We all loved them. I am just so excited. I had to share my news with my DIS friends. (and I wanted to see my new counter!)

L-O-V-E AKL!!
We're going back in late July for one week with friends and CANNOT wait! Zebra domes are alive and well (at least they were in December ) and you will find the resort better than ever! Have fun!

Had a zebra dome 11 days ago... I ate it as slowly as possible, savoring the experience because I knew it would be the last one for who knows how long.

Congrats on your upcoming vacation plans! I totally understand where you are coming from as I just finally finalized plans and have AKL in them as well! I've already informed DS that there will be NO HOCKEY CAMPS the last week in July!

I am so glad to hear that they still have those wonderful zebra domes! I also understand about kids and sports schedules. I am glad that he is involved and loves his sports, but scheduling can get dicey.

I used to have a screensaver that played the WL music and showed different pictures of the resort. I wonder if there is one made for the AKL?

A tiny little slice of culinary heaven. But more accurately they are a kaluha/choclate filling resting on a light and moist sliver of cake-ish crust. The whole thing is wrapped in a chocolate/white chocolate coating. Ok I'm hungry now. You get them at Boma, its all you can eat so be careful, or at Mara (AKL counter service)

Disney's my goal... Did you have to give such a detailed discription my mouth is watering now and now my itch to go is greater than EVER!!!! I can remember my last one and savoring every bite of it.
