Hello everyone!
In the midst of final year uni deadlines and exams, we have taken the plunge and decided to book a holiday to DLP for 2016 :wizard:

Mostly, this is just a place-mark for me to follow the process. I love looking back on previous trips to see how they developed so hopefully some of you will too.

So, the details....

Originally mine and my sister's (Christieand) Nan suggested we go to WDW in 2016. However, she was only really willing to go away for a week, so we convinced her that that wouldn't be nearly enough and DLP was the way to go. Then we settled on visiting in May 2016 to see Swing Into Spring (I REALLY want to visit DLP for this season).

Christie, Nan and I when we last visited DLP in April 2013

Then we had another change of plan....our cousin said she wanted to come along, and this is when we had to go for September 2016 as she will be in her final year of A-levels so May was out of the question. It will be quite interesting to go to DLP with her just before she embarks on her university journey (all going well of course) as our first trip to DLP without any 'adults' was back in 2012 just before we started university...and here we are almost finished!

Today I rang and booked the DISNEYLAND HOTEL :hyper: for the 12th-16th September 2016. Our Nan really wanted to stay here, and who are we to say no! It really makes it more affordable when the cost is being split four ways, so for around an extra £100 each it was definitely worth it for us :thumbsup2
I'm still waiting for the confirmation email, although the money has gone from my bank account. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Can't wait to be back here!

I booked under the Irish offer, and saved a grand total of £156. (after a grand total of 33 minutes on the phone - the lady didn't know how to book under another country's offer so it took a while but we got there. She also asked if we're celebrating any birthdays - anyone know why they ask that? Is it just to make conversation?!) Dreading the phone bill!)

We have booked two people into the room, because after lots and lots of pricing up this was the cheapest way to do it, as opposed to buying three APs/booking more people into the room etc. etc.

Now comes the best part...this means that Christie and I will need to renew our APs in October, and we will also get 6 months free, meaning our APs will be valid until March 2017. All I need to do is convince Christie than an offsite trip to see Swing Into Spring in 2016 is worth it (to make us of our APs of course! :rotfl:).

Unfortunately the dates fall just wrong that we won't still have the APs to visit in April 2017 for the 25th anniversary celebrations. But this doesn't really matter as I think we've all but decided that we MUST go in 2017 if only to ride BTM as it will be closed when we go next year :(...so another AP renewal it will be.

I'll do another post now with the draft plans as this post is long enough! If you've stuck with it this long I award you some pixie dust! pixiedust:

Living the Midlands means it takes us about 2 hours to get to London, which isn't really doable to get to St Pancras in time for the Eurostar on Monday morning, so we decided that we are going to travel to London on Sunday 11th September, and maybe treat ourselves to the Premier Inn as opposed to our usual travelodge! This overnight stay will definitely include a visit to the Rainforest Cafe, mostly because we enjoy watching the confused waiters/waitresses when they serve a group of adults with no kids! :rotfl2:

(NOT looking forward to the stress of Eurostar ticket release all over again. I tried to convince our Nan of the benefits of indirect but she wasn't convinced)

We also want to visit Paris for a day, especially because we aren't expecting to need to five days we have booked for to explore the parks (it was cheaper to book five days than four because of the two day/two night free offer). Think we'll do this on the Wednesday. We've done this once before when we visited DLP with a friend and her parents back in 2009, so have a vague idea of what it involves.

We're also thinking of staying overnight when we get back to London on the Friday. The last few times we've been we haven't been on the train home until around 10pm and it hasn't been an enjoyable end to the holiday.

All of these extras mean we have a nice amount of time to save for everything before we can book it. It also satisfies the planner in me because I have a lovely little tick list to check off who's paid their monthly instalment and when we can book everything! Nan and Olivia (cousin) think i'm crazy but I love it :thumbsup2

P.S sorry about the font...it went all weird and I don't know what the default font is to make it match...!

That's amazing! I love reading your plans & look forward to reading more...

I've started an online document to plan out our holiday in February 2016 & my boyfriend thinks I'm crazy too! The wait is terrible but I agree with you about the benefits of having a nice amount of time to save for everything!

Disneyland hotel is amazing, I have stayed there before and you're in for a big treat! I think they ask if it's anyones birthday because you might get asked if you want to purchase a cake, etc.

Good luck with your uni work & future planning - I know how hard it is to put Disneyland planning to the side to finish uni work, haha!

thanks for your lovely reply Komble :o

We have stayed in the Disneyland Hotel before and loved it soooo much. Feel really lucky to be staying there again. Our cousin and Nan haven't, so can't wait to see them experience it :cloud9:

Planning has provided a nice 'break' but sometimes that break lasts a bit too long!

Oh boy, couldn't have said it better myself!!

Seeing the reaction of your Nan and cousin will be one of the many trip highlights... I remember being amazed at the Peter Pan doorknobs, hahaha!!
