We're goin' in March

My two older dd's have been begging me to venture out of WDW and into US/IOA for years now. So, I guess this is their year. I hope to be able to take my 4 dd's and myself this March for two days. We're DVC, so we'll be staying at OKW.

Is there a good guide book out here somewhere that I can purchase? I'd like to read some before I start asking questions here. I feel completely lost, leaving my secure WDW environment! Just the planning alone will prove more of an adventure than the actual trip!!

Congratulations! I bet you will have a awesome time! There is a great guidebook called "Universal Orlando, The Ultimate Guide to the Ultimate Theme Park Adventure" by Kelly Monaghan. I just checked Amazon and the 2006 edition is out and sells on Amazon for $10.85 $5 less than the 2005 edition! It qualifies for free shipping if you place a $25 order.

The neat thing is that Kelly frequents these boards and he will often answer questions posted here.

Feel free to post questions even before you have read the guide. People on here are usually pretty helpful.

LindaLinda... the 'princesses' are 5, 7, 12 and 13. The 13yo is having a get together of other 13yos as I type. If I'm standing in the morning, I'll be able to read the book I'll be ordering!

Well, I have extra US/IOA park maps from our trips this year in May and December. I will be happy to mail them to you free of charge if you feel comfortable sharing your mailing address. I get tons of help from the other Disboard members who post so I like to extend a helping hand in return. Getting the full size park maps really helps to pinpoint your plan of attack (especially if this is your first time).

Thanks for the offer, Cynthia! My friend and her family are going next month and I've already asked her to bring back two maps for me. That will be a huge help! All I remember is the ET ride. I liked it then...don't even know if they still have it!

I've sent an email to Cynthia. I'd love to have the maps. We're planning to go in March, too. It'll be a surprise for our DS's 11th birthday. His sister knows about it and can't wait to surprise him! (I'm confident of her ability to keep this a secret.)
