This is our first post, we got engaged in October on the Disney Magic having met six years ago when we both worked at the Rose and Crown at Epcot.

We're planning on getting married at Disney World in July 2010, as we're from the UK any advice would be welcomed as we're in the very early planning stages at the moment.

We're very excited!

Congratulations! My friend worked in the shop at UK around that time - small world...

You'll find a wealth of information on these boards, and we're a friendly bunch too, so ask anything. The Planning Journals (PJ's) are a great source of info.

The official disney weddings site is good fun for planning, althuogh not very in depth!

I also like www.mouseweddings.com and magicalkingdoms.com has some good info too.

But the DIS is unrivalled for DFTW info!!

I just made my first post today too, and im from the UK too- and so its loads of others so it seems like a great place to chat and ask for advice about how we go about planning the wedding from the UK.

Its sooo exciting isnt it!!!??


Im still getting used to the site but ill get there eventually.

Hello everyone! Thank you all for your kind words and for making us feel so welcome. It really makes a difference being in the new year, now we can say that we're getting married next year! Woo hoo!

Good to see some other UK couples on here. Just lurking on the site has been so useful so far. If it wasn't for reading all of the tips on this board, we wouldn't have thought to call Disney at get things going from 18 months out. We spoke to them twice on the phone last Friday, we were talking to them for about an hour in total but we felt really clued up from reading these boards. We knew the right questions to ask!

They've done that thing with us where they 'pencil' us in for our July 2010 date, can't wait to get it all officially confirmed this July.
