I think it was 4 10 mg pills that I was given with the vague instructions of take 1/2 to 2 pills prior to flight. I took one pill on the way to the airport (abt 6:30 am) and the other just as we boarded (abt 8:45 am). They helped tremendously and while I still hate the thought of flying, I will be doing it again and don't really remember much about the flight!!!
I agree that having little ones made me more nervous to fly but it also kept me more distracted on the flight.
I think the Rx you get depends on your provider too. I called mine (who doesn't know me from a hole in the wall) and spoke to a nurse and got 4 pills called in. My mom, who goes regularly to her doctor got an Rx for 20 pills at 5 mg. I guess they can be addicting. It is definitely not something I would take except to fly but it did work well.
Definitely save 1 pill for boarding because if your flight is unexpectedly delayed you wouldn't want to not have one - believe me!!
Good luck to everyone with this fear!
