Were flying I'm frightened. What

I think it was 4 10 mg pills that I was given with the vague instructions of take 1/2 to 2 pills prior to flight. I took one pill on the way to the airport (abt 6:30 am) and the other just as we boarded (abt 8:45 am). They helped tremendously and while I still hate the thought of flying, I will be doing it again and don't really remember much about the flight!!!

I agree that having little ones made me more nervous to fly but it also kept me more distracted on the flight.

I think the Rx you get depends on your provider too. I called mine (who doesn't know me from a hole in the wall) and spoke to a nurse and got 4 pills called in. My mom, who goes regularly to her doctor got an Rx for 20 pills at 5 mg. I guess they can be addicting. It is definitely not something I would take except to fly but it did work well.

Definitely save 1 pill for boarding because if your flight is unexpectedly delayed you wouldn't want to not have one - believe me!!

Good luck to everyone with this fear!

I am with you there, I used to be ok flying but on the last trip I had some problems. I am going to go to the doc and get some happy drugs!! I hope that will work.

Hey...Flying is cool! I just don't like going UP and coming DOWN! :rotfl2: No, really...it's not so bad. I used to just bring a book to read and once I got a soda in me I'd be ok but now I have my kids and they keep me occupied! I am still not too crazy about take off's and landings but that's just me I guess.
HANG IN THERE! :thumbsup2

Oh hun' flying's nothing, and it's completely safe! There is no reason to be afraid, and millions of peoplearound the world are. There is nothing wrong with being afraid to fly, don't go down on yourself for being afraid, but think, planes are sooo many times safer than Cars! There are hundreds of car crashes weekly, but barely any if ANY plane crashes. Take a portable dvd player, a head set, maybe like a mini aelectronic solitare, or some differnt things like crossword puzzels or Sudoko. :goodvibes I have flown, and I"m 13, its nothing! Honest!!

You may not need to! If you keep your attention on something, and dont think about being on a plane, and if you do shut your eyes, and pretend your AT wdw riding small world. :goodvibes (plus once you open your eyes the song will be stuck in your head) :rotfl:

OP: Daisy: I am so like you with this flying thing..... !! I noticed online there is a free course...www.fearofflyinghelp.com !! I am seriously thinking of taking this course. I spoke at length with my family over the holiday weekend when we were altogether for the 4th and it has been decided that despite the fact that I have no issues with the actual flying and the plane and the seats and take offs and landings...the issues with me are that I do not feel good...like something has crept inside me (my head) and made me feel just plan uncomfortable...like "get me out of here" and my family said YES, you have a fear of flying = anxiety = paranoia!!!

My son is away for 8 months studing abroad. He left in June and will not return until Jan 2007...I just HAVE to go see him. He wants me to so bad and so I have to just suck it up, deal with this and fly SIX hours to London to meet him. He is in Greece until Aug and that is ONE trip (NINE HOURS) I will NOT do. But I am leaning more towards London as he travels to the UK!!!!

UGH.....

BTW: I am just not good with drugs either...I would be out of it for days IF I took something.

Look for that site and see what you think!!!
