I have a question today for everyone:
“When is too early/late to celebrate in WDW?”

My son's 3rd birthday is November 26th. Unfortunately, it almost always gets stuck on or right around Thanksgiving day and takes away from the special time he deserves. I wanted to celebrate his birthday one day during our trip (which is Dec 11-16). Is 2 1/2 weeks AFTER his real bday too late to celebrate in WDW?

Also, my SIL and BIL were married last January 2nd. Is it too early to celebrate their anniversary? I thought it would be special to celebrate the night we do the Candlelight Processional package and now that *ahem* her new father and mother-in-law are coming along that night

Let me know your thoughts! I have never "celebrated" an event at WDW and would love your input!

Funny you should ask this! Our trip last year was September 25-29. Our anniversary is September 8 and Olivia's birthday is November 11. We celebrated both (all week) with no trouble. I think WDW is the perfect place to celebrate especially if it's not the actual day b/c then you get to celebrate more than once! Just my two cents, but I say go for it!!!

I totally think you could celebrate both of those events while you are there! We've only ever done a few days before or after the trip but we've never had anything else within a month to add.

I think that you can celebrate both because we've celebrated a birthday that was exactly a month away at Disney. Sometimes you can't actually BE in Disney on the day, yet trip is part of the celebration, even if it is delayed. I think it would be fine! :cutie:

Sure, you could celebrate his birthday on the trip! No one is going to be able to know and even if the CMs do know they don't fuss over it. If he wears a birthday button the CMs will give him plenty of attention. My DD received FPs to use right then and Tink Buttons.
On a couples trip DH and I celebrated our 20th anniversary. We left DW May 2nd and our anniversary is July 8th. At our ADRs even though the CM knew when our real anniversary was we still got a special dessert. We also wore the buttons and received many well wishes.
Emily's birthday is November 15th and she wore the button until we left on November 26th.
Hope this helps~

I don't think it's ever too early or too late to celebrate. If that's what you want to do, go for it! :thumbsup2

That's so funny that you're going to school for high school English, because I am, too! I won't be finished until Spring 2012, though. (hopefully)

As for celebrating - I say definitely go for it! We are planning on celebrating DD's 2nd birthday while we are there next March. (She will turn 2 on 2/17.)

Just my two cents.................

My family celebrates the birth of Jesus every year on the 25th of December and it is almost certain that He wasn't born on that day. It is possible that we could be as much as 364 days off, yet we celebrate it with great joy regardless of our inaccuracy.................. so I say celebrate when it's convenient, and don't worry about a particular date!!! ;)

Congrats on getting your certification. My degree is also in secondary education, but for history! Good luck with finishing up. I know it is difficult to balance it all with kids and so many other obligations, but May 2011 really isn't that far off!

I don't think 2 weeks is too late to celebrate. In April Dad and I both got the birthday buttons and our bdays are in March. And on our trip we just got back from we met a little girl who was celebrating her bday even though it was in June or July. So go ahead and celebrate!

It's never too late or early to celebrate at Disney! :) We're celebrating our 2-year anniversary two months late on our trip in December. Disney knows that vacation time doesn't always fall around our special occasions.

Celebrate both those occasions at Disney! Last year, Charles and I celebrated our anniversary two weeks early when we went to the Food and Wine Festival. Celebrating a birthday at Disney is so much fun! Make sure you have your son wear his birthday button, and he will get a lot of attention from the Cast Members. It is really cute!

It is so much fun to celebrate at Disney! I say go for it! You should definitely celebrate both occasions there! The CMs really do go above and beyond to make your Disney stay even that much more special when you've got something to celebrate. :cloud9: And like you said, it will be a great way for Aiden to get to have a really special birthday aside from Thanksgiving. :goodvibes

definitely celebrate!! we celebrated my BIL's graduation last trip and it was a few weeks after. just becuase the event isn't during your trip, doesn't mean you can't still celebrate it!! go for it!!! and let all the CM's know at your meals etc. too and you might get a little extra attention. :goodvibes

I actually responded to you on twitter-- but no, I don't believe it's too early/late to celebrate any of those things! It's not like Disney asks for proof! Plus, if you're in the mood to celebrate, you should!
Also-- I think a "Happy Graduation" trip would be excellent! I went into college as an English/Secondary Ed major and eventually changed it to English/Communications. Just didn't have it in me to be a teacher. It's such an admirable profession-- I'm sure you'll be great at it!

Oops, I fell behind; but I'm caught up now!

WDW QUESTION OF THE DAY:

“On your first day at WDW, can you resist heading to the parks?”

We have only ever arrived at night, so we usually grab something to eat and go to bed! :rotfl2:

Oh--and this isn't a done deal AT ALL (and please don't say anything on FB), but Michael has made it to the second cut for a job in Tampa, FL.

Have you heard anything yet??? :yay:

Good point! :rotfl:

I know your pain of a GG, making them make decisions and such. Hang in there!!

QOD: I do not think it is too late to celebrate DS' birthday at Disney in December. I've read about celebrating months afterward it has happened. Same with the Anniversary. Disney does not put stipulations on how dates fall in relation to your trip. :goodvibes

I hope your semester is going well, mine is back underway too.

Hey Katie! I hope your new classes are going well! I just started back this past Monday and it has been so hard to get back into the groove after having a month off. :sad2: I'm looking forward to your next update! :goodvibes
