Yes, the two happiest days any RV owner can have: the day you buy it (Jan 4, 2018), and the day you sell it (Feb 9, 2022). But the wife and I, and our fur babies had many happy days in between. The trip to Alaska summer of 2018 was 94 days and 13,000 miles of pure adventure, checking off a significant number of places from our combined Bucket Lists. Mt Rushmore, Glacier NP, Banff (totally Awesome), Jasper, the Alaska Highway, Yellowstone and Tetons NPs, and much, much more. Then there were multiple trips to Disney's Fort Wilderness...best campground ever. Or the 45 day trip to Roswell, NM to see all the aliens at wife's high school reunion. The list goes on and on. Yes there were "downer" days as well, but over time only the good memories will endure. And there are many of them to remember! Y'all need to enjoy the RV lifestyle while you can before life throws that nasty slider and forces you to turn the page to the next chapter in your book. May God bless you all...God bless the USA!

Well said, @Stork. Don't become a stranger on this board, though.

PS - and there's always the Cabins at Fort Wilderness if you get the itch again .... :rolleyes1

I feel your pain. When Grumpy Aggie went to his Heavenly home on 9/24/20 it hit me no more Arnold or camping anywhere. Our favorite times were spent @ The Fort! I am so glad to have spent the last Oct/Nov 2019on our last Dis trip with him. I have so many wonderful memories we had together camping with family & friends. Stay in touch!

Will do.

Truth.... enjoy it while you can, Nothing good lasts forever.

This 5th wheel and new truck are a direct reflection of that. My plan was to wait until summer 2024 to make the leap to the bigger trailer and truck. I started crunching numbers and found we could pull it off so we made the commitment. We arent getting any younger and I have vowed to live my life despite the craazy world around me.

Great post! It had me looking back on our FW RV experiences over the last 40 yrs. Our 1st trip to FW in 1980 we pitched a tent. Later annual FW trips (and travels around the country) were in our 15 ft, 18 ft, 30 ft travel trailers, 38 ft 5th wheel, 4 different motorhomes, and full-timed 10 years in a 45 ft class A. We're also getting closer to the end of our rv journeys having bought a house last year, but downsized to a 35 ft class A. We're local now but still enjoy FW. In fact we'll be there in May on my 70th bd. 🙂 I definitely agree with the suggestion that you continue to come to the Fort in a rental RV - or cabin!
