We're doing what??? A Wonder-ful PTR

Our stateroom was assigned today!! I had booked 11B GTY status hoping for an upgrade... And we got it! We got upgraded to a 10C #2133. The reviews say there is som noise, but I'm just happy we got upgraded, I really wanted the split bathrooms! I know its silly since its just me and Jack, but I really wanted to see how it is! I'm so excited!

The split bathroom worked really well for my hubby and I We don't have a split bathroom on this next cruise, but we're hoping for a port upgrade at check in!

In my mind, the split bathroom is one of the things that really sets DCL apart from other lines. It really shows how much thought they put into their ships, and that they really understand their market!

As some of you may know, Disneyland released a new room only offer with a 30% discount at Paradise Pier. If I were to switch to Paradise Pier, it would cost me abotu $100 more than what I have booked right now. I really like staying "on property" whenever I can. Also, since I am a travel specialist etc, I can earn commission on my own vacations, but I wasn't going to be able to earn commission on my park tickets with the hotel I had booked previously... Now I would be able to earn commission on both... I would prefer the Disneyland Hotel, since it's my favorite, but there is no way I can justify the $$ for that or the Grand Californian. Argh this is so frustrating!! I can't decide!!! I guess I should find out how much my commission would be... and then see if I can cancel some other things to bring costs down... Hmmm any input?

I think you'll be fine to catch WoC without any issues. You're going at a GREAT time! Was that the primary reason you booked the WoC dinner, so that you would have a great spot? When my DH, my mom, and I went in March of this year, we went to see WoC on a Friday night (or maybe Saturday night) and it was packed. However, I learned to line up early and we got pretty good spots right up front! So I honestly think you don't need to do the dinner unless that's something you really wanted.

If you canceled that dinner, would you still cancel one of your Palo dining's?

Plus I am starting to look at this trip as a whole budget wise, and it is starting to get out of control. I think I need to try and cut a few things out, so I am going to still cancel the WoC dinner, since that was the only reason I was doing it was for the guaranteed spot.

Ok, I have managed to control my crazy impulses. I am NOT switching hotels. I AM still canceling Palo dinner and probably one of my excursions, as well as the WoC dinner. I started looking at the money I am spending on this trip as a total instead of two seperate segments (cruise then DLR) and it's starting to freak me out I want to have a great time, but I don't want to stress over $$ so I will probaby cancel the coastal highlights tour and just do the beach day with Jack in PV and the boat thing with him in Cabo the first day. Then if I really want to I can go to Cabo on my own to shop or something, or I can just hang out on the ship. I am canceling Palo dinner because I am wanting to make sure I get all the various dinner experiences and the opportunity to see all the shows. I am still keeping the brunch because I want to experience Palo for at least one meal.

What is wrong with me! I am deranged or something. I had a curious thought, so I got online... and looked at renting DVC points for VGC! I found someone who is renting at $7 per point, and I need 40... So I emailed her. If she doesn't have any that's fine, I will hopefully be able to put these crazy thoughts out of my head If she does have them, even better!!

And you would be correct! The person checked and there was no availability, but she said she could get a Disneyland Hotel Standard view for 58 points... which would have been $406, but I declined. I think I will be just fine where I am at. At least I know I tried, and I know next time we go to Disneyland (which probably won't be for at least 4 -5 years) I will save up so I can stay in the GC or maybe I wll be a DVC owner by then...

I need help choosing which Port Adventure to do in Cabo! In my desire to see my cost of this cruise go down a bit, I am cutting out some things and I decided to just do one excursion in Cabo, and I will take Jack. The second Cabo day I will leave him on the ship and I might go ashore, but only if I see something I really want to do/buy while there on the first day. So here are the two options:

Coastal Highlights:
On this tour you will:

Begin your tour with a 15-minute drive through downtown Cabo San Lucas to a local glassblowing factory.

Once there, observe artisans as they create treasures from molten glass and learn about the history and process of this art form.

After your approximate 30-minute visit, journey to the charming town of San José del Cabo. But between the two, I would choose this one.

However, I've heard GREAT things about the glass blowing factory..

As I read the Coastal Highlights, I thought, "Well that sounds nice!" but then when I read the Scenic Cruise, I was actually getting exciting! Really sounds awesome. I think it would be cool to see "Land's End" and the natural rock formations. And especially since you're taking Jack, I feel like being on a boat would be more interesting for a toddler.

That said.....what is the price difference? Price is always the final deciding factor for me if there are two things I would be happy with. (BTW, DH HATES that! He's always like, "Which do you like more?" And my response is always, "Which is cheaper?" He gets so frustrated! Haha!)

My DH is JUST like you! He's always like, "Um, i'll like whatevers cheaper." He does that with menus too! He'll look at the menu, narrow it down to a few dishes, THEN choose the cheaper option!

For me they are the same price. For Jack, one is a little cheaper, but I can't remember off the top of my head which one. I had orginally planned on doing Coastal Highlights on my own, because I didn't think Jack would be that excited about it. So the Harbor Cruise is winning so far

I was at Target yesterday and the folders were down to $.03... so naturally I bought a bunch more!

I remembered this week but they were completely out! i found three red ones i think i can work with but that's it.

I vote for the second option. For me the major selling point was the catamaran. There is just something about sailing that really pulls the stress away. I wouldn't care where i was going if i was on a sail boat- although this one goes to some neat spots! If you are going to shop anyway, it sounds like a couple of the spots on the first option aren't too far from the shopping.
