I just booked our first Disney trip for April 23-30 at Coronado springs. Any advice for flights out of Buffalo? I found a flight for 907 US return, incl tax and fees for the 4 of us. It's with Airtran. Anyone heard of them? I am a bit nervous that they don't assign the seats until checkin, but as long as we have 1 child with 1 adult, that's all that matters I guess. Southwest is the same, right? They don't have April's flights posted yet. Anyone know when that would come out and do you think the prices would be similar to what I've found? I'd like to wrap this all up. I'm ready to dive into restaurant info now, but am thinking I have to get this flight booked first.

Help! Thanks alot. Have a great night.

Hi Lori - we're going to fly SW out of Buffalo on Feb 3. I think for the four of us, I'm paying about 940 USD and I would assume April will be similar if not a little more. I like SW as they have 2 direct flights/day out of Buffalo and I think all other airlines have at least one stop. The flights to the end of March just opened up about 2 weeks ago. If you go to the Transportation Forum, they have a thread where people are talking about when they think the April schedule will open up. We're also staying at CSR for 3 days after our cruise! Enjoy!

Congrats, Coronado is a nice resort and quite big. If you want to be close to the main pool (the one with the waterslide) request a room near 8b as this is the closest to the pool you can get parking. We were in an area called El Ranchos and it was completely across the resort. They do have buses that will take you to the pool area, and people on golf carts that will take you there as well, but we are not into that. Good luck with your vacation it is soooo exciting.

Great price for your flights:)

Dive into the Restaurnat planning..there's a great thread over on the Restaurants Board with pics of everyone's meals...just makes us drool :teeth:
And then we change our minds again, over "where we're going to EAT!!"

We love vacation...its all about the noshing;)

:sunny:

Excellent- First trip :cool1: :cool1:

We stayed at Coronado Springs last March and loved it- Good choice.

As for flights I would hold out another month and wait to see what SW puts up. I am paying $486 for 5 flights for my trip next month.

Your dining reservations would be something fun to do while waiting for flights.

This board is so great. I am getting a bit obsessed with it and loving every moment reading all this info. I'm inclined to wait until SW posts their prices, I think. Maybe I'll be kicking myself if I lose that good fair with AirTran, but we'll see. I could change my mind several times between now and then. I'm just relieved we've at least booked the hotel and now I'll take a step back from the flight obsession to think about FOOD. It all sounds so good. We're on the dining plan, and we are a family that likes to eat, so this will be hours of mouthwatering research, I bet.

Great night everyone!

It seems that for the non-holiday times Southwest usually sells Buffalo to Orlando for $79 each way, if you can get it. Those fares probably sell fast, but they are the standard internet price. Check for DING fares as well, I was able to get one for $39 each way for my trip in January.

Definately download the DING software to you computer, and be patient.
I started getting antsy and booked a fare for about $90 each way, and a couple of hours later a DING fare showed up at half that price.
I cancelled the more expensive fare and booked the DING!!

It was about 3-4 months out from our trip.

Congratulations!! We flew out of Buffalo last March and loved it. We usually fly out of Toronto but not anymore. We are flying SW in Jan. We stayed at CSR last March and loved it too!! You will have a fabulous time. We just booked POFQ for Jan with dining...can't wait.

Hi newbieplanner -
We very recently decided to go and are going at close to the same dates as you. Love to wait for SWA but just can't stomach it. We booked airtran for 4 for US$827 - which is the $89 one-way fare (flying on a weekday). I watched that rate over 2-3 days and sometimes they offered up the $89 rate and sometimes not - even within the same day! Not sure why that is but I had a similar experience checking US Air on expedia - sometimes the time combinations I wanted were offered at about CDN$1400 and the next minute they showed it as CDN$4000 - also watched this happen over 2-3 days. Just something to keep watch for if you decide not to wait for SWA!
