Hi everyone! I'm excited to say that I took the plunge and booked our flights and our cruise for next year! We leave for Orlando May 6, spend 5 days there, then we are cruising on the Carnival Dream May 11-18!

So, I have everything booked for my Disney vacation except the Disney part haha. I am waiting to hear the Disney rates for 2013, and if its not too expensive we will stay on property. We don't plan on renting a vehicle so staying at Disney would take care of all required transportation, plus if we are onsite it will be easier to go back to the hotel for afternoon breaks from the park.

Its such a relief to have two major things booked (cruise and airfare) and not have to keep checking the prices! Now I can concentrate on the fun stuff like planning my days in the parks :)

Just a question: How much time would you realistically spend in a park over the course of a day?

Hooray!! Congrats!
How much time you spend in the parks depends so much on who is with you! When it's just my wife and I, we go pretty much all day. We'll get up whenever we get up...go to the park solid until 3pm and then take a rest and then from 5 or 6 until the last extra magic hour.

When we have our daughter, we tend to get up early, go to a park at about 9, have a break about 1pm till 4pm and then go back again from 4 till 10ish.

It will also depend on if you have the dining plan or not. The sit down dining plan gives you a nice air-conditioned break right at the park so we found that we spent way more time at the parks when we had the DDP.
Good luck!!! Have a GREAT TIME!!!!

I am like you, I could stay at the parks all day long. My boyfriend, like you daughter, needs a break lol. That's another reason we want to stay onsite...it will make it much easier to take those afternoon breaks without sacrificing precious extra time for travel, irregular shuttle service, etc

We usually stay all day. We do the deluxe dining plan, so I plan at least 2 sit down meals a day. That gives us a break from the heat and all the walking for a little bit.

I called today to see if they had the 2013 packages out yet. They said it would probably be July or August before they released them.:sad1: I'm ready to start planning! We are planning on going back in May 2013 or sooner if we can get free dining.
