Got in late last night. We had a good time, but I don't know what I was thinking planning a trip in June! We stayed in a 2BR at BCV. It was nice, but I don't like how the villas are far from the BC. After walking around the parks all day, we really didn't like having a long walk to our room every night. We had rooms 374 & 376. The rooms, themselves, were very nice. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. My DD slept in the sofabed in the living room. She did mention that it wasn't too comfortable. We passed one of the housekeepers, in the hallway, and I asked her if they had the foam egg crates, for the beds. She said they would leave one in our room. It was there when we got back and my DD said that it did help a lot. I should have gotten the studio with the two queens, but I thought my kids would rather not share a bedroom. That didn't matter to them, so the next time we all go, I will definitely get the two beds.

We got to use the pool, once, and it was very nice.

We ate, a few times, at Beaches n Cream, using the Quick & Casual Vouchers. Great deal! And the food is really good!

I didn't like having to share transportation with the other resorts, though. We didn't have to share a bus from the MK with Swan & Dolphin, though, but all other parks we shared.

We ate, one night, at Trail's End, over at Fort Wilderness. Good food and very reasonable, BUT.....and this really killed the whole experience for me and I will NEVER go over there again....we took the boat back to the MK. We're walking down the dock. As I'm getting closer to the end, I see a bug run across the dock. I look around and notice a couple more. I then stop and look around me...big ROACHES are everywhere! I start going back the way I came and they are behind me too! I go over to the side and almost touch one on the rail!!! That boat couldn't come fast enough! I will never go over there again!

We did an E-night. Worth every penny! The crowds were really heavy, every park we went to, and we got to each one at opening (except for Epcot). It was worth $12 not to have the heat and crowds to deal with. We just about walked on every ride, during the Enight.

We didn't go to Epcot, until around 5. Test Track had a 35 minute wait and the fast passes were done for the day. We went to Mission Space, which only had a 10 minute wait and went back to Test Track about a hour later...big mistake because now the single rider line was 35 minutes and the standby was 110 minutes. We didn't wait.

I'll try to answer questions anyone has, if I can.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!!!

Does BCV's have any rooms w/2 queen beds instead of the queen bed/sofa bed combo?
Anyone know what room numbers they might be??
My kids have a HUGE dislike for the sofa beds.

Thanx for the report.... and don't let those roaches 'bug' ya too much! :teeth:

Look at the bright side... they weren't in your bed.

They have some dedicated 2 bedrooms with the 2 queens in the second bedroom. You actually reserve them, they are not a request.

Well, has much as they try even Disney can't control nature. Yes even roaches inhabit this wonderful land. I would be more worried if the roaches were in the resaurant.

I have seen:
Rats on Parrot Cay CBR
a very LARGE black snake at BCV
mice at CSR
an alligator at CBR and in the MK (Rivers of Amarica)
And a whole host of other critters including
deer, and turkey

And you haven't seen anything until you have been to WDW during love bug season.

That's exactly what I said to my DH...if these are all over here, what did the restaurant look like...that's why I won't be going back there.

I have been to WDW, in late September, and witnessed the Love Bug season.....they aren't cockroaches!

Those aren't "indoor" roaches like the type that close kitchens down, they are "Palmetto Bugs," a fact of life in the Southeastern United States.

I believe they are more visible now than in years past because laws have been passed that restrict the use of pesticides. I also hate these critters... My hubby ASSURES me they are animatronic. :) I have seen them at night at Downtown Disney... YUK.

I am surprised that was your first encounter with our lovely Palmetto Bug. Believe me they are not limited to the Fort Wilderness area. I almost sat on one at Epcot on the Norway ride. The only way to completely avoid them is to avoid Florida.

As stated only in a 2 bedroom dedicated. There are only 25 of them, you have to book them at the time of your reservation with Member Services and they book up very quickly.

Glad you had a good trip. That's interesting that BCV is still doing egg crate. BWV told us in Feb. they no longer do them as they can't be sanitized well enough and there was a claimed instance of someone getting sick from the person before them.

.

As others have said , it is a reserved room type but here is a list with room numbers for about 1/2, I am still trying to figure out the other half.

Thats funny I am going to tell myself that if I ever see another snake...I screamed like a little school girl when that snake came out across the sidewalk...:earseek: :hyper:

Glad your trip was enjoyable. The "Palmetto Bug" does throw people from other parts of the country. Looks like a roach on steroids!

But, since they are "outside" bugs they don't bother me too much any more. Thank you for posting about your trip!!:)

Those palmetto bugs are big. I've had to evict one from my room on two occasions. Hope they enjoyed their tour of the septic system.

I will add to this list...I forget the name of the restaurant but it was the sit down restaurant at Norway. Huge roach climbing up the wall. I was too freaked to say anything but we were shocked. So we will not go there again.

ooohhh from reading ahead maybe it was a palmetto bug since it was HUGE!

I did not care for the distance BC was from the pool either. It did not seem to be part of BC for that reason. I had a hard time finding the washer/dryer room also. I asked someonme at a DVC stand in the hotel (last year). They had no clue what I was talking about. I guess they new nothing about what they were selling.
I also did not like taking my bags soo far. Next time the bell dude can handle it.
