Stayed the 22nd-29th at the Davy Crockett

Highs

- The DC swimming pool is open for a full day again (has only been open 3pm-10pm for the last couple of years)
- Visiting Salon Mickey (all 6 of us at once, with no problem)
- Our day trip to Paris, with a highly recommended 'free' (i.e., tips only) guided tour of Montmartre, courtesy of these guys: http://www.discoverwalks.com/paris/montmartre-tour/ Pauline, our guide, was fantastic
- The weather. Aside from a little rain here and there, the temperature was perfect
- Long summer opening hours = lie ins, and lazy days with long swims in the quiet pool, and mid afternoon visits to the park
-'Winnie Parking' (right at the front of the car park on the campervan side) which is available to DC guests on their last day. Not sure if this is new, but we've never been offered this on previous stays
- 30€ Buffalo Bills tickets (thanks to Carrie Cat's advice: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2750266) + 2 free birthday tickets)
- Thanks to the forum :worship: shareholders + family discount for our APs. I say thanks to the forum, because the CM was adament that we couldn't combine the discounts, and because I was so confident that he was wrong, we paid the full amount, and then went straight to a supervisor who sorted it out and gave us a refund

Lows

Nothing serious....

- A general lack of awareness of the Shareholders discount at table service restaurants. A trip to City Hall who printed us off a copy of the discounts to take around with us solved this problem
- The surprising amount of park refurb for July
- The 'premium' DC cabins. We've concluded that we prefer the older 2 bed cabins. The new ones are just too dark, and pokey (unless you have your ceiling to floor curtains wide open), and the lack of a proper sofa/chairs in the lounge (you simply have the wooden table chairs and a narrow bench seat along a wall) just doesn't feel as cozy
- The excessive queues for Crush's Coaster and Toy Story Land
- My usual moan about the generic, and uninspired park merchandise :sad2:

We're just back too. Agreed re the weather, was just perfect.

Also agreed re queues in particular in the Studios - I wish they would open this later in the summer.

Glad you had a good time- we did too :goodvibes

Welcome back, pleased you enjoyed your trip.

I'm confused by the statement lack of awareness of shareholder discount & counter service, you have only ever been able to get discount at table service & buffets. Its the AP which get counter service discount

lol, I recognised you as soon as I saw your pics. I commented last year on how your son looked like rock star material :cool2:

My son now brings his guitar on holiday. He was wearing the same Stones shirt around the park as your son, and we had Hendrix in the car cd player lol :music:

Sorry....typo! Meant to say table service, and have edited original post.

Welcome home
Glad you had a great trip. Sounds like a lovely relaxed trip :goodvibes

Ha! We saw that Stones t-shirt on quite a few people over the holiday. Mark commented that maybe it's not as cool as he thought, after he'd spotted it BIG lady

A few pics.

Kids loved the new adventureland addition:

Welcome back :wave2: sounds like a wonderful, relaxing time. :goodvibes

We had trouble getting the shareholders and family discount combined once - luckily I'd printed it off the Euro Disney SCA site but the CM still disbelieved me, I think he thought I'd made it up! We had to wait for his supervisor to come back from lunch! :rotfl2:

how did you do the buffallo bills in the end? im desperate to find an offer.

sian x

Hi Sian,

We ordered them via the Carrefour site:
http://www.spectacles.carrefour.fr/goManifestation.do?codman=BUMA1

You need to create an account, using your UK home street address, and your France hotel post code and town.

You then pay by card and simply pick them up at a Carrefour when you're in France. You need a photo id and the card that you used for payment when you collect them.

Here's the closest one to the park: http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...=UFh&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=ivns

Welcome back, it sounds like you had a great trip :goodvibes

Nice pics, I love the bedding at DCR I don't drive so that'll never be an option but I think it'd be right up my street. Glad a good time was had by all :thumbsup2
