Stayed the 22nd-29th at the Davy Crockett
Highs
- The DC swimming pool is open for a full day again (has only been open 3pm-10pm for the last couple of years)
- Visiting Salon Mickey (all 6 of us at once, with no problem)
- Our day trip to Paris, with a highly recommended 'free' (i.e., tips only) guided tour of Montmartre, courtesy of these guys: http://www.discoverwalks.com/paris/montmartre-tour/ Pauline, our guide, was fantastic
- The weather. Aside from a little rain here and there, the temperature was perfect
- Long summer opening hours = lie ins, and lazy days with long swims in the quiet pool, and mid afternoon visits to the park
-'Winnie Parking' (right at the front of the car park on the campervan side) which is available to DC guests on their last day. Not sure if this is new, but we've never been offered this on previous stays
- 30€ Buffalo Bills tickets (thanks to Carrie Cat's advice: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2750266) + 2 free birthday tickets)
- Thanks to the forum
shareholders + family discount for our APs. I say thanks to the forum, because the CM was adament that we couldn't combine the discounts, and because I was so confident that he was wrong, we paid the full amount, and then went straight to a supervisor who sorted it out and gave us a refund
Lows
Nothing serious....
- A general lack of awareness of the Shareholders discount at table service restaurants. A trip to City Hall who printed us off a copy of the discounts to take around with us solved this problem
- The surprising amount of park refurb for July
- The 'premium' DC cabins. We've concluded that we prefer the older 2 bed cabins. The new ones are just too dark, and pokey (unless you have your ceiling to floor curtains wide open), and the lack of a proper sofa/chairs in the lounge (you simply have the wooden table chairs and a narrow bench seat along a wall) just doesn't feel as cozy
- The excessive queues for Crush's Coaster and Toy Story Land
- My usual moan about the generic, and uninspired park merchandise
