Where do I start? DD came down with allergy episode day before we left. She had fever, cough, etc. Anyway, with plenty of fluids and a visit to Dr. we decided to leave the next day and take our chances.

We drove 11 hours from Louisiana. DD was on meds so she slept most of ride. TIP: Our portable TV with Video saved us. She loved the TV and watched many videos (between sleeping)

An hour before arrival, I decided to call ASmo to see if room was ready since we would be arriving before check in time. Well, here we go................ I spoke with "Barbara" who was very rude. I told her that we had a Preferred Room and would like to know if one was ready. She looked up the Reservation and said that we did not have a Preferred room that my paper should state it if we did. I said I know we do because I paid for it and that's what I have always referred to when speaking to CRO. She then says " when you get here I will look at your paper, BLACK AND WHITE does not Lie" OK, I am fuming now. I'm thinking, this is Disney, what is your problem??? I also asked her why she was so rude and she stated that she was just telling me what her computer screen says.

I hung up and tried to dial CRO.............could not get throrugh on my cell phone because the area we were in did not support my phone................Now, I am anxious, getting closer to the resort and MAD.

Ok, I am in a good calling area now, got my cell phone working. Called CRO and she was very very nice. She immediately called ASmo and told them I did have a Preferred resv. and to expect me anytime now. She was very helpful. For some reason, the CRO and the actual resort computers show two different things....................ok we are here, let the magic begin.

Check in on Sunday. DD who is 2 yo is still not feeling that great. First time at ASmo and so far looks ok. We unpacked and went swimming. DD loved the kiddie pool and the kiddie play area at this resort.

Monday: DD would not get off the bus at MGM. She thought that the bus was a ride! LOL
I told her if you think this is exicitng, just wait. Because she was having allergies, we had to give her meds and the meds were making her drowsy. So, everyday we went back to the Hotel and took a nap. TIP: If your toddler can sleep in the stroller, then stay at the parks! We did not get to do as much as we wanted because she was not happy if she did not sleep.
We did the Fantasmic with the dinner at Hollywood and Vine. Food was ok. There were many families walking right up with NO PS and got right in. MGM- did not get to do Playhouse Disney they do not have a FP and the lines were soooo long.

Tuesday: MK. I love to see everyone's face as they approach Main Street. Ok It's Hot and Humid. I brought my Mister and also a mister that I bought from QVC both of which I did not use. I felt like i was already wet from the humidity and did not to get any wetter. I bought a little blue battery operated fan at the ASmo resort which I LOVED. It was very powerful and small enough to hold in my fanny pack. They were also sold at AK. FP Winnie the Pooh. Walked right up to ISW.

For Dinner, went to Epcot, had PS at GG. Food was better than H&V. DD was afraid of the sounds of the The land. The scenery was the GG with the wind and "land sounds" were scary for her. She clung to her Dad. The characters came by but did not spend much time at the table.

Wednesday: Split time between MG and Epcot Again. During the day, it was very Humid but I live in Louisiana and feel that for May it was unusual but know it could be a lot worse (like July or August) There was a wind blowing so I felt it was tolerable. I did hear people from other states (usually Norhtern) complain of the heat but for us it was not miserable.

MK TIP: The tip about the strollers is Great! I bought bright yellow fabric and tied it to both sides of the stroller. It was very easy to pick out which stroller was ours. Also, another great TIP was a small flashlight for DD. This came in handy especially for Spaceship Earth.

Had PS for Chrystal Palace lunch. This was our best Character meal. The atmsosphere was nice. The food was good and the characters gave plenty attention to each table. Also, there were families walking right up and getting seated!!! With no PS.

Had no problem with Spaceship Earth or Fast Track in the evening around 6 - 7 pm. Actually, I walked right up to both. With very little wait. My DH went to Epcot during the day and said the Lines were all the way down and around the attractions.

DD had to go take a nap so I went back to hotel and DH went to TL. He says many people but not over crowded.

Thursday: AK. First time we really had to wait for a bus at ASmo. I suggest catching the bus prior to 9am. Get to all the parks early! Between 9 -10 the park entrances are packed. You have to go through bag check first. And speaking of bag check: One day I had my QVC mister which is in a black zipper type bag and has a long black hose attached. Well, the officer asked "what is this?" I replied a water bottle ( I meant to say mister) he looked perplexed and just stuffed it back in as if not wanting to figure this black contraption out and said "go ahead". So much for the safety of others...........What I am trying to say if they do check your bags but are not that serious when checking.

First off the safari. very bumby ride but worth it. DD loved that animals. Great TIP was seeing the animals first thing in the morning! We did the baby swap for Its a Bugs Life which I LOVE THE BABY SWAP! We used the Baby swap quite often. It seemed that not that many people used it or knew that they could do the baby swap.

Had lunch at AK Rain Forest. Food was ok. I guess because I am from Louisiana and we are accustomed to New Orleans spicy food, it is hard to impress us. DH has the ribs which he liked. I ordered the coconut shrimp which came to the table COLD! Can you believe it. The waitress said they could reorder but I said that we did not want to wait another 30-45 minutes for my order and by then my family would be finished eating. The atmosphere was great though!

Thursday Night: Oh no, I feel sick! I have fever, sore throat, achyness. Help.
Took meds all night. stayed in room. DH went to parks alone (which I think he enjoyed)

TIP: Bring all medication that you would need if you are sick. I did and it helped. The variety of meds at the ASmo was limited and expensive. Thank goodness I came prepared.

Friday: Stayed around hotel until 11am. Went to Epcot to order pictures at Imagination. Oh no, where did all these school kids come from?? The bus parking lot is FULL to capacity with charter busses!!! The parks are full of school kids all of which have the same colored shirts on. Friday must be a day for school field trips. All we wanted to do was GET OUT! IT was miserable.............packed with people.

Left Epcot and went to DD. Had lunch at Wolf Gang Puck's indoor rest. Very enjoyable and good prices. DH was suprised by the prices. He had sushi and I had a BBQ shrimp pizza............Great.

Shopped for awhile and enjoyed all the kiddie stuff for DD. Went back to hotel and started to pack............we leave tomorrow. By the way the crowds look, we leave just in time...........

Enjoyed your report. We are going in June and I'm afraid the heat might get worse. But if that is all we have to contend with we will feel blessed. :)

I hope the allergies and whatever you got didn't dampen the trip too much

thanks for posting!

Hey nakk823 (where y'at) guess where I'm from? Enjoyed your post and hope all is feeling better. So Sorry to hear about the early on mess up but glad you were able to get CRO to straighten thing out.

During our trip the beginning of May the weather was in the upper 90's and I thought we could handle it being from "Da Parish". We can't wait to go back in October - our first time for MNSSHP.
