Just returned from our first "family trip" to disney world (I was there 21 years ago!)
Me, DH, DS & DD (who has autism!) - It went wonderful!!! The weather was hot and the lines were low! There did seem to be a lot of people out (to me at least) but the longest we waited was 20 min and that was mid afternoon! My husband insisted that we see how Leah did before going to guest services for her. So we rented a stroller (double) she kinda looked like baby Huey in there (she's 10 & weighs about 85 pounds!) We headed over to space mountain and there was no line so off we went! We had been to Busch Gardens on Monday and Leah loved all the rides (yes, the upside down ones!!) She got to the bottom and said "more" so we did it one more time! By the time the day was over we rode that ride FOUR times!!! we did all the traditional stuff and then went to meet Mickey @ toontown, when we finally got to meet him Leah was tired from waiting in line and keep saying "Minnie" and pointing to a picture of her, She was starting to have a melt down!! They were going to take a picture of her and I mentioned to the lady that she was autistic so it was hard to get her to smile on command! The lady asked if we had seen the rest of the characters and I said "no" She took the kids picture and said "come with me" We then went to another building and she talked to some people and then we were lead into a room with Minnie, Pluto, Cinderella and others!! I tell you I could have cried right there and then, I truly believe that the cast member named Sylvia went above and beyond her job!!! I will soon right to Disney to praise her!! We had a GREAT trip! Next time (yes there will be a next time) we will get a bigger hotel room, we stayed at the All-Stars and the rooms were just to small for the four of us! I got the $49 rate, but i think Iwould have been disappointed had I paid the original $99 rate!! It did the job! Any questions fill free to ask! Back to doing laundry!!
One other thing, we went to Universal Studio's on Friday and loved that park too! We did all the "major" rides! If you like scary rides its a great park!!
