What a WONDERFUL trip!!! We're back in cold, drab, gray Michigan and wishing we were back at the Fort. We're already planning our next adventure and hope to add our younger daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter to the next trip.
For the first time in our 30+ years of driving down, we didn't encounter any rain on the way to Florida, and just a little in Ohio on our return last night. We spent 13 lovely nights in the Fort and still wish we had a couple more. Our oldest daughter and son-in-law (and granddaughter) who were with us, sold their house via fax while in the Fort. That alone makes it memorable!
We only had one, small problem - an automatic awning that wouldn't retract right before one of the big storms blew in. The local mobil repair came and rolled it in manually for us - so we can now repair it here at home.
We can only afford to go every two years, so we noticed a few changes. The trees and bushes had grown quite a bit since our last trip in 2009. Nice! Although 99% of the Disney workers are happy in their work, we encountered more "disgruntled" workers than ever before. I wonder why?? I noticed that the restrooms weren't as clean as in the past. Other than that, everything was perfect - as usual.
Can't wait to return!!! Thank you for all of the wonderful advice. Until March of 2013 ..............
