I don't have many pictures from Day Three...and for good reason
On Day 2, while at AK, GMax mentioned that they were going to EMH on Monday night to ride Everest in the dark. Even though I already had plans (Mini Golf with dinner at Wolf Gang Pucks MY FAVORITE!) however, Eric thought EMH at his new favorite park was a great idea. SO in my attempt to be flexible...we changed plans.
We decided to sleep in a bit (GASP!) and then figure out what to do. To start out we headed to DTD to grab some lunch. By the time we left the hotel it was at least noon anyway. As a compromise we went to WGP Express. I loved our meal but Eric deemed it mediocre. I think it was just what he got. We went to a few shops, but man it was HOT! I was starting to second guess upcoming plans.
After leaving DTD we decided to head to Fantasia Gardens mini-golf. Eric is an avid golfer and this was described as a "realistic" mini-golf course. I knew it was going to be hot but by the time we arrived it was just gross outside. We were hoping there would be plenty of shade.
Our first problem was we arrived on the 1st hole just after another family. We played the first hole and quickly caught up with them....we thought it was wierd but hung out and waited. This went on for the next 13 holes!!! I don't know what they were doing but it seemed each hole took them LONGER AND LONGER!!! And the it seemed to be getting hotter and stickier. We finally decided to go around them and just finish up.
Our second problem was this course was NOT realistic. The "sand bunkers" were actually just holes in the ground filled with rocks. The course was extremely hard and overall just NOT fun.
Before we had left the hotel we switched around our dining reservations and decided to try out Tusker House. So off we headed to Animal Kingdom. The first thing we did when we go there was to buy one of those $17 spray water bottles.
I know they are $17 but we were just miserable.
We hit up a few things we missed to kill some time before out Tusker House ressie. Finally 5 rolled around and we headed to Tusker House. Now this was a pretty good meal, however, not on the top of my list to go to again NOR would I pay that much for a buffet. But it was air conditioned, we had good drinks and filled our belly's.
It was still pretty light out so we did the Safari again, It's Tough to be a Bug and I even got Eric to try Hester and Jesters!!!
Eric was dying to try Kali River Rapids but I didn't want to walk around soaked...I knew what could happen, lol. The wait for Everest wasn't too bad so we hopped in line. We ended up going on 2 or 3 times. We decided before we left the park we would check out Kali...a wait time of only 20 minutes!!
Well the 20 minutes was really only walking through the queue. Eric was so excited. I warned him it was possible to get completely drenched! We boarded our raft and began up the hill. I have to admit that the ride was pretty cool in the dark! Well then came the big moment...as we approached the drop our raft quickly turned and guess who went down first?
We walked off the ride as though we had jumped in the pool with our clothes on! As we passed the entrance we thought, what the heck. The wait is only 5 minutes...and you can't get WETTER can you?
Apparently you can!!
Even though our plans changed, we ended up having a great day. I unfortunately didn't think about what would happen if I continually sprayed myself with water all day...washing off all the sun screen. My sunburn wasn't too bad but I was hoping NOT to get one at all.
Coming up...Day 4 Lauren and Patrick arrive!!
