Now to get started!

oh my gosh! Did you print that many pictures! WOW! That is alot....just like ME!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what made me finally fall in love with my digital I could finally take pictures of anything and everything and then decide what I would print!
Happy scrapping!

Not to change the subject.... and not sure if I am bragging or complaining, but we took 1400 pictures during our 8 day trip this past January.... so 457 sounds very manageable to me!!!.....P

Wow pjlla! I thought I blew the bank on my 19 rolls but you really outdid yourself!
BigBabyBlues--just as a suggestion on getting started...decide how you want to do your album and then sort the pictures that way. I decided to do our album in chronological order so after I got my pictures I used a large shoe box and took index cards and seperated pix by day. This worked great for me. Also get an idea of what cardstock you want to use, the stickers, die cuts and other embellishments. I looked on 2 Peas many times to get ideas of different layouts.
Have a great time!

pjlla-Too funny!
Our last trip a dear friend of mine joined us with her 2 kids. We had 2 days that over lapped each. They spent 2 days on their own. Well I created both a scrap book and slide show for both. I got a copy of her digital card and looked at Animal Kingdom and their second day at MK! They only had maybe 40 pictures for both DAYS! So needless to say when I created the slide show it was beefed up to a healthy 300 plus pictures! (Granted this did include the 2 days we spent together!) She had none of the tree of life! None of the shots that make you feel like you were there! LOL!

Wow thats alot of pictures. I will be going on my first trip to disney world so I think I may take that many pictures to. I have a digital camera also and I was wondering how many memory cards do you all usually take.:D

We were just there for only 4 days and I took 350 pics. I would have taken more but I was running out of memory cards. I usually take my laptop and transfer pictures each day so I don't have to buy so many memory cards. I decided not to since this trip was so short...I was sorry by the end of the trip. I tried to transfer them to disc in MK but the machine wouldn't accept my memory card XD because somebody stole the piece to connect the XD to the machine :( Now I am in the process of making a scrap book for my grandson for his birthday. I can't wait to see his face when he opens it Monday! He didn't want to come home from Disney World and so now he will have a piece of it with him!:earsboy:

That's about how many pics I take when we go - I use our digital and DD uses our "old" camera, an automatic 35 mm. I LOVE the digital because I can make sure eyes are open etc without wasting! I also love DDs pics because they're so different that we would take...I just looked back on some of hers and they crack me up...the carpet and bedspread in AKL with the Hidden Mickeys on it, a topiary of Mickey and Minnie (not that fancy, just shrubs with a bow on one of them :) ), a duck walking around in Fantasyland - I won't go on and bore you. :) But it's like Chritmas when you get all the pics back isn't it? Who do you use to print them? Do you crop them at all on the computer before you print them?

I haven't had a problem with the pictures on the memory card, we have a 128 MB on our Olympus, but I HAVE had to go back and delete unwanted pictures, close enough one time that I almost "stole" DDs camera!

Pooh5---We just got our digital in July, but I took 2 cards that were 256MB each and had no problem. The one said it would only hold about 190 pics, but it held 251 before we changed cards, and it still had plenty left. The other one had 206 on it, but we were home by then, so I don't know how far it would have gone. The 457 were the ones we printed, probably deleted another 200; I deleted the ones I didn't want at the end of each day.

Jennz--I use the machine at Walmart, not the Kodak Picture maker, the other one. We paid 20 cents a picture, and they look great! I don't know what the difference is, but I don't like Walmart's regular 1-hour processsing at all. I didn't crop any of these, we stopped at WM on the way home from the airport and went ahead and loaded them on the machine because we thought it would take much longer than an hour to print so many, but it didn't!

Pjlla--You win! LOL I can't imagine how long it will take me to scrap my *measley* 457, let alone 1400! Are you done with them yet???? That's awesome!

NOPE... haven't even started yet!! I'm just finishing our 2002 trip (294 pictures) which I started scrapping last September (yup...took me one full year). But I probably won't actually "scrap" each photo, as many are duplicates.... my DH is fond of using the "multi-shot" setting on our camera.... so each photo of the kids with a character is actually about 5 photos taken very rapidly! So I will probably only pick the one best in that situation. But that 1400 ( actually I believe it was something like 1386) are the photos we chose to KEEP... we downloaded to my DH's laptop each evening and deleted any that were bad or blurry. We took over 200 per day.

I do my own photo printing at home... much easier for me and I can control the cropping, etc myself. Not sure how economical it is, but I like the convenience. I'll let you all know how it is going (regarding scrapping the 2004 trip). I've got just a few other pages I am trying to finish up before I dive in. I got a bit of "Disney scrapping" burnout when finishing the last album, so I wanted to take a break from scrapping Disney.... but I will be starting up again soon!....................P
