will never go back!!!

First off I would like to say Thank you to everyone for all the great tips it made things a lot less stressful.

We used Prerstige Towncars and the service was great. We did the grocery stop and he was on time both ways, the driver very freindly.

Took advantage of a few "Best places to eat" worked out good.

Follow the directions to use the GOLYNX bus to Sea World worked great.

This is only a few of helpful hints I found by reading this board all winter.

The kids enjoyed their vacation, I think? Their reaction was'nt what I expected after day one, it was like ok we've seen something simular yesterday let's move on. The time of year was great the lines were never longer than 15 mins average. So it had nothing to do with waiting. Weather was fantastic but not for walking all day, it was lay around the pool all day weather.

For our family there was nothing that would draw us back. The one thing we enjoyed were a few of the shows ex: fireworks, Tarzan Rocks, Indiana jones and Lights Motor Action. Yes, Disney does everything wounderful but what else could you expect?

It's just not our cup of tea!!

Oh no! Sorry to hear you did not enjoy Disney. At least now you can say that you have tried it. May is always very HOT, so I know what you mean. My kids always get cranky in the heat.

Sorry to hear you wouldn't go back. But no one can ever take away that you at least tried it!

Yikes! :confused3
Are your kids older??
Sorry to hear it wasn't a magical experience! :sad2:

Our children are DS 10 and DD 13 (by one week only) she liked most of everything, our son on the other hand would always say that things "sucked" before getting on but changed his opinion most times after we got off.

Thinking back to our trip It just gets very monotonous every ride having a driver with same jokes.
The little figurines everywhere are similar with different story line and music.

The transportation bus driver all have the same line about kids left on the bus go the small world attraction  just to name one; in which we didn't even bother going to . I don't know, we may not have the same sense of humour, but I would'nt be able to put up with this, year after year on my precious vacation time and money.

Another thing is the constant noise everywhere you go music at every step you make, even at the resort there was no escape.

It was to much like everyday life didn't feel like a vacation!!!

Wow! A lot of those things you describe that you didn't like I think is what we DO like about Disney. But to each his/her own and sorry you didn't get the magical experience you were hoping for or "feel" like you were on vacation.
All just part of the family holiday experience. One experience down and a million more to plan, do, conquer...good luck on your next adventure!

Sorry to hear to you won't be going back-to each his/her own I suppose.

A friend and her family had heard such great things from us and decided to go as well. They had the worst vacation they have ever had and won't go back either - since then I've always said it is what you make of it!

We love Disney (as you can tell)-my kids are 18 and 21 and we are going again this year.

We left Florida on the 27th and got home this past Sat late we loved our trip sorry you didn't have fun but atleast you tried it. We will never go back in May or any other summer month we will stick to the winter months. Maybe try it again when the kids are a little older they may get more out of it.

With your children being over the age of 10, they probably would have preferred Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. Sorry you didn't have a great time.

nibab4 - I have to agree with you in some ways. Don't get me wrong, I love Disney and all that it has to offer and the customer service they provide is out of this world.

BUT - is it really a vacation?? If you are going on vacation to relax and unwind - I do not think a trip to Disney World is what you are looking for. If you are looking for adventure and always having something to do - then Disney is the place to go!

My kids loved going to Disney and would like to go back to go on a few of the rides again - are they ready for 7 days of it again - No.

We just returned from the Disney Cruise and that was way more our style of vacation. You still get the Disney magic but at a little slower pace.

Sorry your vacation was not what you expected, but now you know what you and your family are looking for in a vacation! Enjoy the next one.

chasbos,
we also have a few rides we would like to go on again. I'm not saying if ever we go to Orlando we would'nt do a little bit of Disney, a few hours maybe. I would never make an annual pilgrimage out of it!!!

I really liked AK because of the nice folliage everywhere. Maybe because "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country, out of the girl".

Maybe I didn't appreciate the other parks as much cause it was to much like walking downtown Toronto. Everythings one on top of the other very urban looking but in a fantasy sorta way.

I'm still searching for an explaination of why we(DH and I) were so dissapointed? Everyone who asks how was your vacation and I answer OK and not much else they look at me like I have two heads. They can't believe that I'm not rambling like a fool cause each time we come home from vacation I can go on and on about every detail. Also, they are usually adult time away!!

Disney is our holiday and relaxing getaway from everyday life. I have a desk job for a bank not to much more boring work out there so for us relaxing is running all over the world when we are at Disney. We have a Disney cruise booked for 06 but our family is of the type that is always go go go when we are there so I am not to sure how we will enjoy the cruise. We have every day planned out for our trips to WDW and we go for 2 weeks every time but this past trip last week.

Sorry you didn't have a good time. We love Disney but can understand that some people don't. It might have been the ages of your kids though -- when my DS was younger he loved Disney - the characters, rides, everything. Once he hit teenagehood it was all yucky, boring etc... In fact everything was boring no matter where we were he was having the worst time of his life and made everyone around him know it in subtle ways. He's a great kid but boy when he doesn't want to be somewhere you know it!

Solution - he gets left at home with Grandma. He doesn't mind and we have a much better time. He'll be 19 this summer and I'm hoping that he will come again with us in the next couple of years but the last few years it's been much better when he doesn't come.

Not saying that your kids are like this but I know the last trip with him was the worst of the lot because of his attitude.
