Okay...
I've spent what feels like an eternity researching every single possible website concerning Disney Vacation Club. I even went through the past 18 pages of this board. Reading every possible post that might help us make our decisions. But I have a few more questions.

1. Magical Beginnings...What is it? How does it work and what are the benefits?

2. I understand that Beach Club is probably around 65-70% sold. Is there any possible way that you think it might still be avaiable around April 19th? We've already booked plane tickets and I'm trying to figure out what is the best thing to do.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. We have been in love with Beach Club since our trip to WDW in '99. The idea of being at that location is really appealing to us. I guess our second choice would be Boardwalk. But that means resale only, right?

Thank you so much for your help!

Magical Beginnings is a program where you would sell back your first year's points to Disney for a reduction in the purchase price. Cost is $84 per point- reportedly MB would be a $10 per point reduction. You will still pay maintenance fees on those points.

DVC is suggesting a spring 2003 sell out for BCV. I think it may be later, but you can call your vacation guide and let them know you are interested and will be there in April. They may be able to "save" some points for your arrival!

You might want to consider resale even for BCV- you never know what kind of bargain you may find.

Enjoy!!

Noelle -

Magical Begins is where Disney "buys back" this years (2003) points from you. At BC they are doing $10 per point. This can be applied to your deposit if you are financing or come right off the purchase price if you are buying out right,

As to your "will it be around April 19th" question, I am not sure why you would want to wait. There is no extra perk to buying while on-site. The other thing is the Magical Begins amount could change to less.

If you have other questions, holding you back from purchasing now, I recommend posting them for advise, otherwise IMHO, it is better to purchase now.

Good luck
Sandy

Noelle,

Welcome to the DIS!! In regards to the Beach Club being available in April, I don't think you have to worry about it.It should be still available. You will find out on these boards if it is getting closer to selling out.

As to MB's for Beach Club, I think it is only $5-$10 off the current price($84).
In my opinion I don't think it is worth it to forfeit your 1st years points. I am sure you will have someone explain in more detail about MB's.

Magical Beginnings 0 you give them your first year's points, they give you $10 per point or whatever the MB amount is. You can use it toward your down payment.

I'm not sure what your question is about the resort being sold and your plane tickets in April. You can buy DVC over the phone right now if you'd like. There's a possibility that your purchase would allow you to stay at the BCV because your purchase is an increase in the inventory. Regardless, if there are rooms available, you could use your purchase to stay in them. Even if the resort sells out soon, you can purchase resales when they become available.

My opinion is that the resort will still should be available in April for purchase, but the new MB program may speed sales up.

BC is beautiful, you'll love the Villas. They are first class, all the way....

Good luck with your decision, sounds exciting..

If you are going to Disney World in April and you are 98% decided...buy now. That way you can apply the cost of your accomodations to your down payment rather than "wasting" it on a hotel stay.

If you check the Timeshare Store I think there may be one or two BCV resales out there...but...I sort of doubt getting a deal would be easy so early on.

Since you like Beach Club I say buy it...you can't get to Storm Along Bay otherwise and I think it will be tougher to get into once it sells out. Some of the people who used to stay at BWV for Stormalong Bay will now angle for BCV.

My husband and I are now 99%.

We look at this as a commitment to the kids and each other to set dedicated time together doing something we love...Walt Disney World.

So if we buy now, probably through DVC, do you think we could get a reservation for April 19th through the 26th? It's Easter Week.

Even though we love Beach Club and would want that to be our home. We would be just as happy to stay at Old Key West for this trip.

Do you think it's possible?

Or should I go ahead and buy BCV now, save my points for later and just book a room at All Star for my April trip. Saving my $. My husband's friend is a cast member and would be willing to get us the Cast Member discount for the All Star or whatever other resort we might want.

Thank you again for all of the great advice!

If you purchase BCV thru DVC, tell you guide that reservations for your dates are a condition for the sale. They are often able to work some magic finding those elusive rooms. ;)

Since that is a high point cost time, you may want to take advantage of your friends CM discount instead and save the points for another time.

Enjoy!

I have to agree with Doc about using the CM discount this time instead of your points. How many points are you looking to buy?

As to availability when you arrive....At the members update last week, they told us they expect BCV to sell out this spring. I wouldn't take my chances on waiting if you know that is what you want. I too would try a resale.

just remember that the Cast Member must be there at check-in to ge tthe discount. They are usually asked to show their ID, etc. Would hate for you to get down there and be charged a much higher rate.

Actually Magical Beginnings is for *2002* points, which Disney gives to you and you do NOT have to pay maintenance fees. It essentially translates into $10 off the $84 per point price, as you are given last year's points at no cost and they will buy them back for that amount. You will still receive 2003 points and will pay prorated dues for 2003.
