We had never been before because when we had vacation time it was always Disney for us. But now that we live down here we decided to check it out.
I couldn't believe how dead it was! We got there about 10 and the boys walked onto Hulk. From there pretty much everything else was a walk on at Island of Adventure, even dueling Dragons.
After we did pretty much everything at IOA we headed to Universal Studios. I did like that park better. Again, it was pretty dead and hardly waited for anything. The longest wait we had was maybe 20 minutes at Simpsons. Men in Black, Jaws, Disaster, Mummy.....all walk ons. I was quite surprised.
It was nice of course because we could blow through both parks in the day. Besides the lack of crowds what seemed off to me was their hours. Universal Studios closed at 6 and Islands of Adventure at 7. Do they always close so early?
We didn't hit some of the shows because the timing was off but I got a 2 day ticket so we'll go back and check those out.
All in all we had a nice day and my husband and son had fun on the big rides (I can't ride them).
I'll make sure to bring a change of clothes next time for the water rides. We got soaked!!!! They were a lot of fun though. The Jurassic park ride was closed so we'll do that one next time.
It was a nice change of pace and It'll be fun to go back again to check out the rest.
