I was def. gonna try and go to Knotts Berry Farm when i hopefully come over in April.

But i have read bad reports about it on here.

Would you recommend i go for the day?

If not - i would still like to get some Knotts merchandise.

Is the marketplace free to get in - or do you have to go through the theme park to get to it?

Thanks,

My last trip to Knotts was in 2006 in Feb. My daughter
(no fear) was only 7 and there were only 3 or 4 rides she could not ride due to height (or her slimness).
There were NO waits for rides. Not all shops were open. My daughter and I enjoyed ourselves. My hubby who does not do coasters was somewhat bored.
So unless you are a diehard thrill rider it may be a waste of money.
The gift shop was open to the public from the parking lot.
I am in the same boat as you in that in a couple of weeks we are doing Dis and Universal Studios (last done in 2001) and I am reading nothing but bad reviews for US. I suppose it is just a matter of going and making the best of what they have.

:woohoo: for you!

please come back & report what u thought of U. The reviews are making me rethink visiting too. We've done U/FLA several times:love: ; mostly wanted to see the studio tour...not sure if it's worth the extra expense now.

Knotss is much more of a roller coaster park now that Cedar Point has taken over. You will find many new roller coasters have been added since 1991. However, my observation on my last visit was that the old Knotts rides were not well maintained.

Knott's has indeed changed much since 1991. If you visit Knott's on a weekday, lines are generally short. Knott's is good for a half-day trip, but unless you are visiting on the weekend, I hestiate to invest more time at the amusement park.

Although I've never tried it, I heard from reliable sources that the chicken dinner is delicious.

I would recommend going if you are really into roller coasters/rides more than the atmosphere. It has a pretty good atmosphere but not like Disneyland at all. Since 91, they have added 4 major roller coasters (and another one coming in 08) and several thrill rides. Some old favorites are still there such as the Log Ride, the Calico Mine Ride, and the Stagecoach.

One suggestion. If you do decide to go to KBF, go BEFORE DL. If you do the opposite you may see KBF with a biased perspective because honestly, DL does it better. Many people expect the same at KBF and are disappointed.
