It was so much "fun" flying out of NY's Kennedy airport the Sunday before Christmas. We played "change the gate" a few times. Then there were all the happy people who were there since Friday who camped out on the floor. Such a festive time.
The good news is that there's a great Todd English restaurant in the terminal. Since the Bluezoo is our fave place to eat in Orlando, we had a delish lunch while our flight time got pushed further and further back.
Yay!! After a three and a half hour delay, we get wedged into the 50 seat plane. Yay!! They can't fit all of our luggage in with the bags they're trying to get to Charlotte for the people who were put on alternate flights due to the snowstorms. Yay!! They unload all of the luggage, put in just the bags of that belong to those of us on the plane and after another hour, we're in the air. Meanwhile, Gary's having palpitations as the Giants/Panthers kick-off is looming large and he's nowhere near a flatscreen.
We arrive, got our bags and had a very nice Christmas in Charlotte.
Apparently, our luggage enjoyed it so much that it decided to spend an extra day in NC. It's such a great feeling watching the carousel go round and round, waiting for anything green to come down the chute.
Two days later, our bags were delivered. Phew!! Our matching Mickey jammies that we bought during our trip are safe.
It looks like everyone had a great holiday!!
Next is New Year's. We're staying close to home.
