Wendy's cups and ebay?

Why is ebay pulling the auctions with Wendy's cups or the coupons that are cut out from the cups? I had bid on a couple and they were both pulled. When I was looking at them, I noticed there weren't very many auctions of them which surprised me. Then, one or two of the listings mentioned that they may get pulled by ebay, but didn't say why. Does anyone know?

I've seen that, too. There's something in the rules that they have to be listed in Travel-Other and that only 1 thing can be sold per month.

I'm not sure if that's why they pull them or not, but that's what it says.

I think there was something on the Airtran website about not being able to sell them. I think that is why I saw some auctions listed that you are buying something else, like a card or box and they are throwing in the airtran coupons for free. Trying to get around the system and being able to legally say that they sold a box and just sent the coupons for free.

Yes. I looked at some of those on eBay too. The ones I saw they made a pretty "picture frame" out of the coupons and were selling their home made "art".

This is not unusual. I have bought Marriott Bonus Bucks coupons on ebay and the same thing happens. Marriott rules state the coupons can't be sold, so people auction empty envelopes and throw in a "free" Bonus Bucks coupon.

I don't understand how they can say you can't sell the cups.

I mean, if you have paid the money to buy the drink and cup ~ isn't it then your property, to do with as you please???

Sorry, but life doesn't work that way. A perfect example is scalping concert or sports tickets. While I personally agree with you, the law says otherwise. Companies are allowed to put restrictions on the sale and resale of their products.
