Well, this trip was....different. UPDATE - 9/1!

I found my way over here from Heather's trip report...

:welcome: And thank you for joining in!!

MNSSHP looks so fun! Your costumers were great! I especially loved Reid's interactions with the princesses and their princes. :lovestruc

Thank you!! We had so much fun at MNSSHP! I highly recommend it to everyone. It was definitely a highlight of our trip.

How exciting that Reid was able to try so many new rides! It's great when kids are finally big enough for the really fun rides. BTMRR is one of my favorites - I'm glad he liked it! :thumbsup2

I was so nervous he wouldn't like BTMRR. So, I was quite relieved to see just how much loved it. It's like the rides are Disney "milestones" for our children.

Amanda, I'm so sorry. I have no idea how I missed this update. I love the photopass pictures despite the not-so-Disney-like photographer.

We have never been there when TSM broke down...sorry it happened so many times to you.

I'm so glad Reid enjoys Star Tours and that he loved the Muppets.

Amanda, I'm so sorry. I have no idea how I missed this update.

No worries! :goodvibes I've done that before as well.

ETA: And now I've gone & posted another update. Sorry!

I love the photopass pictures despite the not-so-Disney-like photographer.

Thank you!! It was just so weird to hear a CM give a list of pains and complaints.

We have never been there when TSM broke down...sorry it happened so many times to you.

I had never seen that happen either. I think we all know how critical that ride is to DHS but you really realize it when it's not running. :headache:

I'm so glad Reid enjoys Star Tours and that he loved the Muppets.

Thanks! He really did enjoy both. And he had been so excited to ride Star Tours since he loves the Star Wars movies.

When I last left off, we had just finished up our meal at Pizza Planet. We headed back towards TSMM to see if the ride was finally up and running.

Well....it was! Hallelujah!

We walked up to the FP line and the CMs honored our 1st set of FPs from that morning. After our much enjoyed ride, we had to decide where to go next since it wasn’t time yet for our next set of TSMM FPs. We ended up going back to Star Tours. The guys went on the ride while I waited for them.

Next, I decided to hit up something we hadn’t done in a while and Reid had never seen: Indiana Jones. We got in right before it was starting. Reid was very unsure about this at first.

Here’s a too dark picture of Indy for you:

At first, Reid was not liking the loud sounds:

But, he eventually got used to the volume of the show and started to enjoy it. When we got out, it sprinkled for just a quick moment. That pretty much happened a few times that day. I had almost wished it would rain a little longer because it was getting to be extremely hot this day. We took a quick water break at our stroller and then (after a little bit of a disagreement) I finally got Reid into his stroller.

I wanted to take a nice, leisurely stroll to Sunset Boulevard. My hope was that Reid would take a nap. Of course, that just didn’t happen. Oh well!

We made our here:

Ed grabbed a FP for himself and I went and got in the single rider line. The line moved fairly quick until we got up to the CMs that tell you what row to get into. I quite honestly didn’t understand the method the CM working that position was utilizing. Seemed like there were several instances where a single rider could have been put with an odd number group yet he didn’t do that. I don’t know. It’s like he kept forgetting about the single riders.

Anyway, I was finally the first single rider in the line just waiting for a partner. Well, this man and his son, who looked about 14 or 15 were next in the regular line. The son walked up to the CM and said something but he could not hear him so the boy repeated himself, “Where’s your chicken exit?” I already felt bad for him because you could tell he was embarrassed. The CM looked him in the face and dead serious pointed to the coaster and said, “There. That’s your only way out.” OMG! That poor boy’s face! He turned white as a ghost. I truly thought he was going to faint. After a few seconds, the CM laughed and said, “Nah, it’s right here” and showed him the way out.

Then, the CM ended up pairing me with the boy’s father. He was really nice and I told him how bad I had felt for his son.

While I was experiencing my favorite Disney coaster, the boys were having an experience of their own. After a quick potty break, they took off to ToT to grab up 2 FPs for myself and Ed. While they were getting the FPs, they struck up a conversation with the CM working the machines. She ended up giving them 2 ToT FPs in addition to the 2 Ed had already got! Woo Hoo! Pixie Dust!!

When I got off of RNRC, Reid was really wanting some ice cream. So, we made a quick stop and got a cup of vanilla/chocolate swirl. It was so yummy and perfect on that hot day! While Reid and I enjoyed the ice cream, Ed went off to his favorite ride:

Then, I rode. And Ed rode again. We could not convince Reid to try it with us and I wasn’t going to push it with him. Knowing Reid, I do think it would have scared him. We ended up not using the last FP.

We headed back to RNRC for Ed to ride. While we were waiting for him, it started to rain. So, Reid and I headed into the gift shop. Luckily, by the time Ed was done the rain had stopped.

Since we had been doing “our” rides for a little while, I asked Reid what he would like to do. Well, it was back to Star Tours yet again! Afterwards, I let him do the build your own lightsaber thing since I had been promising him he could make one. He really enjoyed doing this with Ed.

Then, it was time for some Photopass pics:

After Reid’s Star Wars photo shoot, we went to see the Muppets one last time. Then, we decided to start making our way towards TSMM. We had one last set of FPs to use. But, when we got there, it wasn’t our time yet. The wait for the standby line said 30 minutes so we decided to hop in line. The wait ended up being closer to an hour. But, we did get to ride! And the best part? When we got off, it was time for our FPs! So, we went right back on. Even with the riding being down most of the morning, we ended up getting to ride it 3 times that day. I call that a success!

By the time we got off of TSMM it was around 7:30 pm. We had not had dinner yet but the park was closing at 8 pm so most quick service restaurants were already closed. We decided to just head out of the park and figure out what to do by the time we got back to the car.

Ed knew I really wanted to just see the AoA resort and asked if I’d like to go the food court there. I thought about it for a moment but I was really tired. Instead, we just headed back to OKW and were there for about 7:50 pm.

We ended up grabbing some food from Good’s to Go at OKW and eating in our room. Reid had a hot dog, Ed a burger and I had a sandwich. Everything was very good and fresh. Their fries were especially good.

While eating, Ed had gone to get another coke out of our mini fridge in the room. Well, I guess we didn’t realize how cold the fridge was set because some of our cokes had exploded that day. Ed was kind enough to clean it up for me while I uploaded pictures and journaled.

Even though the day had some downs to it, I would say it was a good day overall. And we were even in bed for a pretty decent time - 9 pm!

I am back...sorry!! I know I must be the most boring person ever to keep saying this but Reid is so cute.::yes:: Those star wars pictures are wonderful. I totally get how tired you are at the end of the day, even if there is something you still want to see. Your body just says no more!!:rotfl:

I'm on time for this update.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for getting on TSM three times after all the breakdowns.

I love Reid's Star Tours' photopass pictures....his smile is great!

Hooray! I'm so glad that TSM was back up... three rides in one day on ANY day is a success, so yall had a MAJOR success! :woohoo:

I love Reid's Star Wars pictures. SO PRECIOUS!

I'm glad it was an overall good day! I can't wait to see what you did the next day, too!

I am so impressed that you were able to do all that and STILL be in bed by 9pm!

Love that you got some extra pixie dust in the form of extra fast passes....

and riding TSM 3 times in one day is quite impressive on a good day, but one where it had been down so much? AWESOME!!!

Yay for 3 rides on TSMM! I just love that ride.

Amazing Star Wars pictures of Reid! The lightsaber makes them even better. Does Reid play with it all the time? We bought 2 for uncle Cory on Maddie's first trip and they play with them all the time.

Glad that you guys got a good nights sleep. I think you guys had earned it after the beginning of the trip.

3 TSM rides :woohoo: I love ths Star Wars Jedi Reid pics :goodvibes

I keep reminding myself..DO NOT SKIP DHS NEXT TRIP :rolleyes1

We headed back towards TSMM to see if the ride was finally up and running.

Well....it was! Hallelujah!
Finally!!!!

I wanted to take a nice, leisurely stroll to Sunset Boulevard. My hope was that Reid would take a nap. Of course, that just didn’t happen. Oh well!
Of course not, but if you had an end destination that included plans requiring him to be awake, he'd have been out like a light.:lmao::rotfl2:

The son walked up to the CM and said something but he could not hear him so the boy repeated himself, “Where’s your chicken exit?” I already felt bad for him because you could tell he was embarrassed. The CM looked him in the face and dead serious pointed to the coaster and said, “There. That’s your only way out.” OMG! That poor boy’s face! He turned white as a ghost. I truly thought he was going to faint. After a few seconds, the CM laughed and said, “Nah, it’s right here” and showed him the way out.
Oh, wow. Not cool! :sad2:

Funny, but not cool. :lmao::rotfl2:

Well, it was back to Star Tours yet again!
Why did you even ask at that point??? :confused3 :lmao:

Then, it was time for some Photopass pics
He looks like he was having a blast posing with his light saber.

Even with the riding being down most of the morning, we ended up getting to ride it 3 times that day. I call that a success!
Definitely!!! :thumbsup2

While eating, Ed had gone to get another coke out of our mini fridge in the room. Well, I guess we didn’t realize how cold the fridge was set because some of our cokes had exploded that day.
I don't think I've ever had a hotel mini fridge that would even get cold enough to do that. Most of them are just slightly less than room temperature on the highest setting. :lmao::rotfl2:

Great updates, Amanda! I love all the pictures - especially the ones of Reid with his new light saber!

So glad to see that Phineas and Ferb are still there. And relieved to hear that your wait wasn't long - that was the longest line we waited in last year (not counting the princesses with their princes at MNSSHP).

I am so glad that Reid loved Star Tours, but I'm not surprised!

Over all, looks like a very good DHS day. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a very successful day at DHS! I'm glad you guys got to ride TSM finally! 3 time none the less!!

I had no idea you get pics on that Star Wars prop! I will have to do that this year. DS did the Jedi training last year and has been Star Wars crazed ever since!

Fast pass pixie dust is one of the best kinds out there!

Happy birthday Amanda!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flower3:
