Helllo DIS-friends! Guess what today is?

MY BIRTHDAY!

I'm 15! :dance3:

Also, we only have 50 more days until Disney!!!! I promise to update this report very soon!

:wizard:

Happy Birthday! I have been lurking and not posting, but I have really enjoyed your reports!
:yay:

On this day, our original plans were to hit MK and stay all day for 2am EMH. But, we had gone to the Magic Kingdom twice already! So, we decided to go to a different park.

DSC_0009.jpg

DSC_0008.jpg

We never feel like we get enough time at this park. Mostly because it's always so hot and there's little AC to be found! While planning the trip, I made sure that we'd start Animal Kingdom early in the morning. We didn't make rope drop, but we were there by 10! I'd say that's an improvement from 12-1 in the afternoon. ;)

We wanted to go on Kilimanjaro Safaris first, so we made our way up the Oasis exhibits and past the Tree of Life. It still amazes me that it was made around an oil rig!

Flamingos are so pretty.

We found our way to Africa in little time!

Crowds were small and there was about a 20 minute wait for Kilimanjaro Safaris. Is this bird not AMAZING?

DSC_0022.jpg

DSC_0023.jpg

A good thing about being a party of 2? Being able to get front row!

DSC_0024.jpg

Now you see the hippos..

DSC_0025.jpg

And now you don't!

DSC_0026.jpg

Check out these little fellas.

DSC_0027.jpg

DSC_0028.jpg

These guys are certainly not little fellas.

I love getting so close up with the different animals.

Alright, we are now continuing our safari through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. Remember, this is a two week long journey and there's so much more to see!

I'm not quite sure what these guys are, but there sure are a lot of them.

DSC_0033.jpg

Now, you're going to have to look REALLY closely to see who's in this picture!

DSC_0034.jpg

Just kidding, I'll let ya see a close up now!

CSC_0129.jpg

Turn to your left and you'll see some elephants by the water!

DSC_0036.jpg

DSC_0037.jpg

DSC_0042.jpg

Look, there's a baby elephant! Here's where you say "Awwww!"

DSC_0039.jpg

Now, if you'll look up on that rock you'll see a lion that looks very
comfortable.

DSC_0043.jpg

I wonder what makes him stay up there? Could it be a magical air conditioner? ;) I think we'd all like one of those magical air conditioners when we're in Animal Kingdom in the middle of August!

These guys kinda scare me, but amaze me at the same time. They're so big!

DSC_0045.jpg

DSC_0046.jpg

Now, I know this is no proper way to end our journey but it seems to be the last photo I have from the safari. Guess our two weeks together were cut short! Thankfully no poachers caused any harm. :)

After that we went to the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail because we had never done that before.

Look up in the right corner! Monkeys!

DSC_0047.jpg

Our safari guide told us what this guy was, but I can't remember. I don't want to sound dumb, but I think it's a mix between a zebra and another animal!

DSC_0048.jpg

We then went to the area with the snakes, tortoises and naked mole rats. My mom wasn't exactly a big fan of that room! These guys are harmless though.

DSC_0050.jpg

Then we went to see the fishies and the hippos.

DSC_0051.jpg

DSC_0052.jpg

DSC_0053.jpg

DSC_0054.jpg

After that we moved onto the section with the gorillas! My favorite part of the trail! The guy by the window was sound asleep. We actually witnessed him waking up. It was SO cute!!

My..what big hands they have. 6 year old male gorilla vs 14 year old (at the time) girl!

Next, we were going to check out the Conservation Station for the first time:

DSC_0066.jpg

We just missed the train that was there so we had to wait for about 10 minutes. It wasn't bad at all though. Especially when you can bug your mom and take pictures of her. (:

DSC_0067.jpg

When the train came back, we boarded and sat front row. The little ride over was very nice. There were ads for the Disney Nature movie "African Cats" which looked really cool. Then, we passed by the "backstage" areas. Part of me thought it was cool to see but the other part of me was like  when I saw a car parked there. That's what happens when you stay on Disney property, you get completely absorbed in the world and forget the real world exists!

DSC_0068.jpg

We stepped off of the train and were met by this cute little statue (and a bunch of tired people waiting to get back to the park ;))

DSC_0069.jpg

DSC_0070.jpg

DSC_0071.jpg

I remember when we arrived here we stopped at the little cart and I got a Smart Water. I love it! Funny thing is, when we got home and went to the supermarket we saw that they had ones that were double the size the ones that are in Disney for only ONE DOLLAR! It was so crazy, considering the ones in Disney are $3.25. But anyways...don't you love this building?

DSC_0072.jpg

DSC_0073.jpg

My mom had to stop for a bathroom break so I waited in this area and checked out the place while she was in there.

DSC_0074.jpg

I spotted this hidden mickey!

DSC_0075.jpg

When she came out we walked inside to the main part and sat down for a bit, then we went over to these stations and watched how they take care of the elephants and two other animals. The elephant video was especially interesting, it was cool to see how the cast members interact with them while feeding and washing them.

DSC_0076.jpg

Then we saw Jiminy Cricket! I've been wanting to meet him since I was 9. (: Ignore my smile, the CM couldn't figure out how to take a picture so I was smiling for a while!

DSC_0077.jpg

DSC_0078.jpg

Then we went outside to the petting zoo! I don't consider myself a huge animal lover, but I LOVED being this close to the animals!

After about 15 minutes in the petting zoo we decided to go back to the train station. We really enjoyed the Conservation Station! It's one of the few places with AC in Animal Kingdom..:rotfl:

DSC_0090.jpg

Isn't that pathway SOO pretty? (:

When we got off of the train, we were going to make our way towards Nemo since we hadn't seen it in a couple years, but I heard something going on over by Tusker House!

DSC_0095.jpg

These guys were SO good and so fun to watch! Unfortunately, it started raining towards the end of the performance so they had to cut it short.

It was only a Florida sun-shower though, so after we hid under the coverings by the restaurant for a couple of minutes we were ready to go walk! We went through Asia and saw that the Flights of Wonder show was going to start in about 20 minutes. I was really excited to see it, especially because it was another first!

I decided to just watch the show and not take pictures with my camera, but I did take a few before and one towards the end.

After that, one of my favorite moments of the trip happened. We were hungry so we stopped at the Quick Service Yak & Yeti restaurant. We both ordered the Honey Chicken with rice and vegetables with frozen lemonade for dessert and two bottles of water. It took about 10 minutes to get our food, but that was alright. When we went to go look for seats, there were absolutely none. We stood there searching for a table for about 5 minutes, and then finally one was empty underneath a tree. Sure, it wasn't underneath the awning, but it was a table! We were eating and it was sooooo good. One of my favorite meals of my life! My mom was complaining because of the heat and that she couldn't get to any vegetables because there was so much chicken in hers. I was content and just kept eating. Then, a carrot fell from the tree onto our tray. At first we thought some baby was just having a tantrum and threw it and it landed here, so we continued eating. A minute or so later my mom finally got to the vegetables and rice! She had a fork full and was about to take a bite when....PLOP. A bird pooped on her shoulder! I laughed soooo hard. But I was mad, because she didn't feel like eating anymore and we left! :( It seriously was one of my favorite meals though, right after this lovely steak and mashed potatoes dish I had in Miami during Superbowl Weekend. I can't wait to get some Honey Chicken (and sit under an awning while eating it!) in November!

After that fiasco, I wanted to go ride Everest! Last year we discovered the single rider line which works great for me because my mom is too scared to ride it. I was on in about 10 minutes! I got a cute Yeti stuffed animal that I'll have plenty of pictures of at the end of Day 5. :)

DSC_0096.jpg

Then, we went to Nemo and saw these guys! I wanted to watch for a little while but we didn't.

Those are some wise words.

Like I said about Kilimanjaro Safaris, it's great having a party of two! Even though we didn't come 45 minutes in advance for the show (Maybe 25-30) we were able to squeeze into one of the rows towards the front.

Ah I know! I was the same way just a couple of days ago..then I realized our next trip is in 36 days so I better get to business! I've been really busy with school and such too, but I'm getting trip fever now so you know. ;) And thank you! I'd love to see yours updated too!

UPDATE: Ok, I lied! I know I added {Update Everyday} to the title but I've been really busy these past two days. Last night I was at a dance class at a new studio which was AMAZING btw! I'm in junior company and I'm taking ballet and lyrical. The other girls are so talented. I was a bit overwhelmed to say the least! But I know I'll catch up after a few weeks. I've danced at another studio for about 10 years before but it was nowhere as near as good as this one! Everyone was so sweet and welcoming, it was really fun.

Then today I left school early because I had an ear doctor appointment. I'll spare you the details on that one because they aren't that thrilling but yeah, so sorry I didn't have time to update last night! Now onto the REAL update...)

Really cute show! When it was over I spotted this not-so-hidden Mickey near where we were sitting!

DSC_0111.jpg

At that point, we were really tired but we wanted to still see The Festival of the Lion King. We checked our times guide and saw it wasn't for another 2 hours or so, so we stood in front of the Tree of Life deciding whether to go back to Pop or wait it out. All of a sudden, this little cutie came over! I flipped. As you can probably tell by now, I love ducks! I took so many pictures of them this trip. This one was so cute sticking his little beak thru the gate!

We were really tired so we decided just to go back to the hotel and rest. We'd be back to Disney in about 3 months, after all!

On the way out I saw these amazing birds. I'm pretty proud of how the pictures came out!

DSC_0116.jpg

DSC_0117.jpg

The bus came pretty quickly and we were the second family in line so we got seats. :woohoo: Once we got back to Pop, we decided to go on a shopping spree!

This is my Yeti that I wrote about in a previous update

Isn't shopping in Disney the best? :goodvibes

I believe it was about 6:30 when we got back in the room and took the pictures of the merch. Then...the rain started. This wasn't just any rain, this was like a tropical storm! The palm trees outside the wind were blowing like crazy, the pool was obviously closed and it was really fun to watch people run for cover. :lmao:

My mom and I took a bunch of silly pictures of ourselves during this time. We also watched lots of Good Luck Charlie. It's our favorite show on Disney Channel. Amy Duncan is SO funny. I also took some pictures of our view, keeping my trip report in mind! ;)

Here's another picture of rainy Pop

DSC_0174.jpg

Let's take a look at the lovely weather for the upcoming week.....:scared1: Showers, showers and more showers! Here's a spoiler: the rain wasn't that bad that week!

DSC_0192.jpg

At that point, the rain was starting to lighten up but it was still coming down pretty hard. We already wasted about 2 hours in the room and I wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom for some EMH! My mom promised we'd leave at 8:00, so if you look at that last picture, I had 10 minutes left until we were out the door!

Of course...I took some pictures to pass the time. (:

When we were getting our bags together for the park, my mom said that I couldn't take my Nikon in case it poured again, so I had to take my little point-and-shoot! It took nice pictures, but I missed my baby! :lmao:

We ran to the Classic Hall as fast as we could to take a little shortcut and were eventually on the bus. There was only one other family with us, a couple, and they were nice to talk to. One thing we found kind of funny though is that they both carried around wash clothes from the room with them. Very interesting...

The bus driver predicted that the rain would stop once we got closer to the MK and what do you know? It did! See, you can't listen to the message boards all the time. Sometimes - but drivers are right! (;

EDIT: FROM HERE ON, ALL OF THIS HAPPENED ON FRIDAY NIGHT! SORRY I GOT MIXED UP.

I love when it is still kind of light out but the lights in the MK are on, so I took plenty of pictures.
