Well, since we do it better...

You sound like my best friend and her husband who live outside of Seattle. Halloween is her favorite holiday. It takes her about a full month to decorate. They install a maze, huge pirate ship, outside dungeon, huge graveyard, smoke machines, strobe lights, sound effects. Inside their house, not one thing DOESN'T have something halloween related on it. She has boxes and boxes of nothing but costumes. They have about 100 people every year at their party. You wouldn't believe how jealous she was when she found out we moved to a street called "shady Hollow". She's always wanted to live on a halloween sounding street.

Me? We have 2 boxes. Christmas? Around 40. Have three full size trees, few smaller trees, 10 boxes of ornaments, 50 house christmas village and don't get me started on all of the Disney Christmas related stuff. Even full size Mickey and Tigger figures in Christmas attire. :)

We each have our holiday we go a tad bit overboard on. ;)

I would love to see hers!! So much fun!

My Mom does Christmas, always has. Maybe that is why I am more into Halloween, there is no way I could compete!! LOL

I maybe should not admit this but........ we do not have a christmas tree. We used to.......

A car cut my brother off one time so he flipped Necco wafers at the car. It was an unmarked cruiser. :rotfl2:

Stupid is as stupid does.

Oh we usually take tons of pictures, especially this year since we're having a housewarming/Christmas party the first saturday in December. Which by the way everyone here is invited! :)

Yeah for pics and yeah for the invite!! ;)

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'll be at church (Wiccan) that night, so I'll be by default...a witch :-)

I am very intrigued in spirituality...I actually know very little about what Wiccan's do. PM me, I'd love to hear about it! :thumbsup2

I think this is our favorite day of the year!! We are getting ready, all 23 rubbermade containers are out of the attic! The big stuff is still in the garage, all 50 bales of Hay have been ordered. I just have to buy the candy , oh and DECORATE!!! LOl we do that the day before. We do run all the electrical so we are ready. We get over 400 kids so it is a really good time!

Has anyone been to a Halloween store this year? The have an animated jason......so cool. I think we might pick him up ! jay jay jay jay son son son son.......... :yay::yay::yay:

OH! we went to a Halloween store a few days ago and they had the animated Jason!!!!!!! very scary!!

I so want him! odd..... I do not think I have ever said that before!

I am going to wait until the day before and chance that he is still there. They have some really evil clown too that is about 12 ft tall. I think that would go perfect!

Halloween up north was such a bigger deal. Down here in teh South it is barely noticed and heck they are even putting up the Christmas decor in the malls already.

Hi all! I'm a little late jumping in.
I'm going to be Alice from Alice in Wonderland

My DPIC is anti dressing up but I'm going to buy a Mad Hatter Hat and MAKE her wear it. Even if I have to glue it on to her head, darn it! I don't care if it pulls her hair out. She has too much of it anyway!

As for Christmas...we just moved to a new place. OUr furniture is crammed in to the oddly shaped living room. And let me just tell you about the HUGE eye roll I got yesterday when I asked 'Where are we going to put the Christmas tree this year?"

Christmas and Halloween are tied for my favorite holiday's.

We have a halloween party every year. This year our party is on the 24th, because we are going to MNSSHP this year on the 31st. For the past 3 years we have dressed in Disney related costumes. I usually get my mom involved. Last year my mom was Alice in Wonderland and DP (Cindy) and I were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. This year mom will dress as Cruella DeVille and DP and I will be dalmations.

I love decorating for Halloween, and have about 20 bins full of decorations and I also have halloween village houses that I put out every year. I'm in the process if finishing up my village, I'll post pics when I get it finished.

This year will be a little tame since we are waiting for our daughter to be born she is due November 5th. We are adopting from our niece, and everyone is saying she will be early, so I'm hoping she will either be born by October 17th or wait until after halloween.

I have about 40 bins of Christmas decorations, I have a bunch of disney Christmas village houses and usually do 2 trees one completely Disney and other a mixture of ornaments. This year we won't be decorating since we are going to visit family in NJ.

 I came to work one year (at a church, a christian one) dressed like a witch. The minister got the biggest kick out of it. I guess that is one of the perks of working in a more liberal denomination (my old minister actually brought in a real witch one year to give a talk about the Wiccan religion - unfortunately I was not a member of the church then and did not know about it, but I like knowing that it happened because it goes to making me happy about how accepting we are). This year I will come in as a devil. I have the sparkly red devil horns hanging from my monitor at work. People get a kick out of them.

They are doing up north too... :sad2: have been since July... :headache:

I know, awful isn't it. I just cant get into christmas anymore like when I was little. :confused3

I have to start planning in September for Christmas at work. By the time it rolls around, I have moved on to Easter. Working at a church during the holidays sucks.

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2: Good Luck with that! :rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao:

If there is one thing I am learning with the fertility process, its that nothing ever goes according to plan. pirate:

So I'm a tiddle late jumping in on this one, but I'll be late for my own funeral... so...

My costume is unique, I think. I'm going as.... wait for it.

** pregnant pause **

Rod Roddy

You know, the announcer from The Price is Right?!?

I bedazzled some corduroy pants and polo, have a bright yellow dinner jacket, an official TPiR nametag that says "Rod" and I'll spray the part of the hair that isn't already white, white. I also made a huge microphone out of a styro ball and a paper towel roll (it's the teacher in me). It's also sequined.

Judge if you must... I just hope someone actually recognizes me.
