I called today and made a trip for just DH and I for October 2008 at AKV Concierge. Oh, I am so happy that they offer the concierge service at this resort with points! Our plan is to not hit a single park and just enjoy the room and atmosphere. We'll mostly enjoy the room I think and eat at the lounge except for a few meals.

Is it busy Columbus Day weekend?

I wasn't able to get concierge for my last night there but we plan on leaving in the morning and we'll still have it until midnight the day before. Plenty of time to enjoy.

It will be the second trip with just me and DH. last time was so much fun, I know this time will be even better since we'll be at our favorite hotel.

My mother doesn't get it though! She just said, "You're going there again?!"

Congrats on the trip. I would love to spend some time at the AKL with nothing else to do.

In February my DH and I are going on our very first trip to WDW without any other family members (this after almost 35 years of marriage). We wanted to stay at AKL concierge level too, but the timing was too short, so we'll be staying at SSR, which I think will be lovely.

I really get the mother thing, though. I just tell mine that we're going to a resort in FL . Hey, it's true . Oh, those poor unfortunate folks who just don't get Disney. (That's what I love about DISsers; they understand completely .)
