After months of planning, two yard sales, two repairs to the clutch fan and heat something or other and still no answer to the overheating problems with our van 
, the scramble to get another vehicle for our road trip, trying to condense everything and the kitchen sink to fit in a car now instead of a van 
( I was fully packed and ready for three days when I found out the van wasn't going to make the trip ), finding out the the portable vcr/tv isn't working and knowing that we can't afford a dvd player to keep Mom's sanity in tact now that they are with-in the he's touching me /looking at me/touching my "stuff" and can reach me zone ( in the van each gets their own seat ) , going to the library to stock up on books on cassette, buying lots of batteries for the Game Boys/cassette players 
, three sick people, a dead bird -it's burial and funeral by my 8 year old on a rainy day and two naughty guilty cats trying to dig up their prize and the kids having a heart attack about it all while Mom is chasing the cats away with a broom during a thunderstorm 
, two weeks of science and art camp and finally the arrival of the Grandpa who is going to try to survive this trip with the boys and me- WE ARE FINALLY READY TO RUMBLE- we leave in less than 24 hours!!!!! 
Who says the trip is fun- I think all my joy comes from the planning!
