Well I got my "Free" Companion Certificate..........

It's a special "Thank You" from CIBC Aerogold. If you purchase an AC ticket before March 31, 2004, you will get a companion ticket for "FREE"!

So for "Kicks and Giggles" I phoned AC to see what it would cost to fly to MCO for our First Trip Home!

Want a good laugh............

The rep quoted me $2,000+



She said she was getting the same reaction from everybody who was phoning!LOL I feel sorry for her. It's not her fault!

But she did tell me that the "Tango" flights are the same as the regular AC flights but cheaper! So I booked Tango instead!

Gonna have to call CIBC tomorrow! Tell em "Thanks but no thanks!"

I'm hardly holding my breath waiting for my certificate to arrive. I was hoping to use it for a trip to the UK this summer -- thinking even there that 1 full fare economy + 1 free fare would be cheaper than 2 discounted fares. I was given a price of about $3200 for the full fare economy ticket to Heathrow. Ouch.

I laughed too after I saw this offer. When I checked the cost to LA, the price of the ticket I would have to buy to get the free ticket was more than the cost of the 5 cheap tickets I purchased for us to go to Disneyland in just less than 3 weeks. I haven't found a route that would make this offer worthwhile for me. Europe fairs were just outragious. When I looked it was going to cost anywhere from $5000-8000 for one ticket depending on the date and arrival city.

DD flew to the UK last June on AC - keep watching your dates-we were able to book airfare return for around $700.

AC thinks this deal stinks! You are not allowed to book any specials! You have to go either J or Y type fares. These are of course full fare! No deals allowed!
