Well! I finally booked the Swan!

After much debating between the Swan and the GF, and the major price difference, etc I finally made up my mind and booked the Swan for November 12th to 18th! I can't wait! I've never booked a vacation so close. Less then 30 days now! Woo!

If you've stayed at the Swan feel free to tell me the things you liked

We're in a standard room, smoking. Our flight lands in Orlando a little after 10am and check in isn't until 3, I'm hoping that since there isn't such a high demand for smoking rooms that our room will be ready!

Oh! And has anyone gotten towel animals?

We have stayed at both the Swan and Dolphin many times in the past deveral years. You will love this resort!

I'm not sure about towel animals - this is not a Disney owned resort and from reports that seems to happen more often at the Disney owned resorts.

Hmm, whats to love at the swan, well first of all not paying those ridiculous disney prices for a family of five, then their is the heavenly beds, boats to mgm and epcot, that great grotto pool, lots of onsite restraunts - palios smelled oh so heavenly but didnt get a chance to go, shulas etc. The boardwalk just a hop, skip and jump away, those cute swan boats, oatmeal soap, pink shampoo, coffee maker in the room etc. You will love it. Enjoy your stay. Quiet lobby. First stop on the bus route.

We'll be there for the 1st time on Dec 28-Jan 2. Got a great rate for Club Level as a teacher. No discounts at Disney resorts then! We are dvc members (since 1994) and usually stay at OKW, but rented our points for this time to someone else and decided to try the Epcot area for its convenience for NYE. Couldn't get BCV and don't like BWV(another story). I'm looking forward to the Swan. I'm sure you will have a great time.

We really enjoy the Swan every time we get to stay there. Be sure to go to Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG.com) and sign up for the program. It is free and they have some nice point deals, sometimes even upgrades. It is worth the few minutes it takes to type in your information. You will recieve a number, add that to your ressie to earn the points. Enjoy your stay!
