My DH decided to help cure cancer and small pox so I thought I would pass on the website to anyone who wants to help. What they do is use your computer to work cell by cell on possible drug matches to maybe one day find a cure for some cancers. It has such a huge workload, that it goes faster by using many home computers to work on these problems. It runs in the background and we have not noticed it slowing down our computer any. He got this site from Discover Magazine.

SETI has one that uses a mass of computers (volunteers) to search for extra-terrestrial signals. I'm on that one.

Small pox has been irradicated since the mid 70's. The virus exists in only two research laboratories -- one in the CDC in Atlanta, and the other in Russia.

You HOPE it remains contained in the research lab in Russia. I question that.

That is what I thought, but apparently they are working on a vaccine- check out the web site. I just did and here is what I found:
