Hi All!

We are back from 10 glorious days at the World, and more food than any 3 people should ever eat...but its *mostly* oh so good :) This is my 1st crack at a review, so I figure the best place to start is at the begining...

Our cast included me, DH 63 and our DS 3 [will be 4 in Dec]. This was our 3d trip to the world, and was the longest so far...but had some twist and turns that really cut into the whole plan.

I will be working to get the reviews up, and need to look to see how many pictures I actually ended up with...I'm really good at remembering my camera 3/4 way through the meal!

So, if you are interested, come along with me as I recall and recount our last 10 days. Reviews will include:

All things Pop Food Court
The Plaza
Garden Grill
Sunshine Seasons
The Biergarten
50's PTC
Cape May Cafe [dinner]
YC room service
Flying Fish
The Captain's Grill
Beaches and Cream
The Earl of Sandwich
Various Food and Wine Booths
Hoop Dee Doo Review

Regrettably, we cancelled several meals due to illness, including 1900 Park Fare, The Grand Floridian Cafe, Tusker House and Cape May Cafe breakfast....but we will no doubt have some fun along the way! So welcome aboard!

Sounds good to me. You'll get the hang of the photos next time. ;)

I'm not sure where the week went....something about a job?:confused3

Anyway, for those who have hopped aboard, here we go.

Everything Pop [dinner]

We landed at MCO, snagged our car and headed straight for the Pop to start our stay at WDW. We had never stayed at a value resort, and it was really just a place to flop for the night. We had been traveling all day, and we were HUNGRY. We went straight to the food court before we even checked out our room.

After getting oriented, we split up. DH had spotted the Asian line and there was a noodle emergency brewing. The plan was to get our meals and regroup to checkout.

I took DS3 through the Italian line, as pizza seemed the most likely food to wind up actually being eaten. I ordered a kids cheese pizza, thinking the line of pizzas on the counter looked like ok candidates.....but no! they are not kids pizzas, they are adult sized...once we got through the whole "no, we are not on the dining plan, so I don't care to wait 15 mins for a "kids" pizza routine, we secured the pie.

I ordered Chicken Parmigan. I'm not sure why, as I only eat it occasionally, but nothing else in the line snapped my socks and I really didn't have the energy to work through another line with DS in tow. I was handed a plate with noodles and a chicken piece along with a bit of salad. Period. I asked if the plate was missing something, like sauce. I was then asked what kind I wanted, red or white....hmmmmm.....I've never seen chick parm with WHITE sauce....wouldn't that be chick ALFREDO? :confused3 I got the red.

DS and I worked our way over to the coolers for some chocolate milk and water. I spied the tie-dyed cheesecake and snagged a piece to share just as DH showed up. With Chick ALfredo...or Chick Parm with white sauce, or whatever they called it. I still have no idea why we ended up in the same line but we navigated the checkout and found our table.

DH decided that the Chick Alfredo was only so-so in taste and quality, but was hungry enough to eat it. I realized as I sat eating the Chick Parm that the plate was still lacking...it was missing "Parm"! There was no cheese whatsoever! It was really chicken with red sauce....bland red sauce. It really turned me off and I only ate a few bites. DS tucked away about a slice and half of the pizza. I tried a bite and found it to taste pretty much like the sauce on my chicken. In retrospect, I could have taken the sauce and cheese off the pizza and put it on the chicken to get closer to what I meant to order, but none of it was really that good to make me consider it at the time. The sole surprise was the tie-dyed cheesecake. My guys tucked into it and pretty well polished it off in no time. I only had a couple small bites. It was only so-so for me.

We were tired and went off to bed.

EVERYTHING POP, take 2 - breakfast

We woke early for Florida time, and even earlier for us as we were still on West Coast time. Our Family Magic Tour was set for 10, and we needed to check out of the Pop to move the Yacht Club for our stay. Despite the mediocre dinner last night, we chanced breakfast at the food court again.

I needed something with some egg, as it helps me stabilize my blood sugar a bit [any kind of pastry by its self is a big no-no, and heaven forbid I do anything with syrup w/out some protein with it] These challenges can make me pretty miserable, as I really am not a bit breakfast fan. After scoping out the options, I settled for a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissant. While in the line, I snagged a breakfast pizza for DS [figuring I could scrape the bacon off, as he is funny about meat] and DH came up with a Western omelet.

Once again, I was underwhelmed by the food. My croissant was so "buttery" that it was down right greasy when the egg and bacon were added....no real flavor, just a greasy coating on the inside of the mouth..YUCK! DS, rebelled, no breakfast pizza - he wanted my sandwich w/o the bacon. He decided he like croissants this trip and it became the morning food of choice for the week. DH ate he omelet, but commented it wasn't as good as the local breakfast places here at home. He complained it was too oily...wondered if they used "magic glow" or what ever you call the fake butter stuff for the grill to keep the eggs from sticking.

We ended up leaving most of breakfast in the trash....as we headed out to the Magic Kingdom and our anticipated lunch at the Plaza after the tour.
