Well, Ain't That Fancy Schmancy! (Not So Much.) A Sept. '13 PTR. Shock-UPDATED 7/2!

Hi, I am in Long long long time lurker , sorry about that. I have read all your previous Trip reports and loved them. You have such a wonderful way with words and then your husband has a wonderful way with pictures its the perfect recipe for a great trip report. Really looking forward to this one, as I have always wanted to stay at the contemporary , when I was 7 and on my first trip that was my dream resort and still is.

I'm here, I'm here, I'm here. Of course you are already on page 2 (stupid work! it always get in the way of my DIS!).

We have some overlapping days, so I'll have to see if we have some patch up park days!

Late to the party as usual but I am here! I think AOA and CR split sounds Great!

So here I am on the dis being all “ho hum, gonna have to catch up on some TR’s after a busy opening weekend….OH WAIT I HAVE A PTR TO READ!!!” and had to go searching, but, I am now here!!

Oh my gosh, Julia’s picture is so sassy! Adorable!! Ah! Sawyer keeps growing up so much between TR’s, it’s insane!! Good luck with the no diapers this trip!!!

As we all know, I will definitely be down there the same time as you, I’m actually going back now to check what our park hopping days are, to see if we can weasel in a dismeet somewhere in there. Heck, I can easily leave my Mom and Ann to fend for themselves for an hour, while I park hop bahah .

You guys are going to LOVE AoA! Are you doing a suite? Or a LM room? AH! Brynn’s going to die if you’re doing the LM rooms, we certainly did when we checked in! The rooms are your standard resort rooms, but the detailing is beyond amazing, and they’re super comfy cause they’re new!! I honestly think the showers were my favorite part!

The LM rooms are a bit of a longer walk from the bus stop, we usually cut through the parking lot as we didn’t have kids with us, but there is a sidewalk that runs along the parking lot that’s a bit shorter than going through the resort. That being said, it’s also amazing to walk through the lion king section and the nemo section each day.

Food court: amazing! They’ve got the regular standard items, with a little bit of flair to them that adds the “landscape of flavours” thing…lol. It’s like Pop’s foodcourt, but I found it to not be as busy! Overall the themeing of the resort, and the decorations are amazing and I’m sure you’re going to love it! If you want to check out some pictures/thoughts, in my “Sept 2012” TR link in my signature has a bunch of reviews, they’re under the most recent day I’ve posted, near the end of the day!!

Excited to read more!!!

I'm here! What a great intro to your family. I'll be sad when your current TR comes to an end!

I have stayed at the Contemporary many times. It is such a great resort. You can walk to the MK in less than 10 minutes! You can ride the boat over to WL, FW, or the MK. You can resort hop on the monorail. Plus, the next stop on the monorail is the TTC, which is perfect for switching to a monorail to Epcot.

The pool is great as well. If your kids like slides, this pool has one! They allow you to wait at the bottom of the slide, so you can grab your kiddo as they come down. There is also a little pool for the babies/young toddlers.

If your kids are in the mood for some beach time, there is a little beach off from the pool area. It's the perfect spot to watch the water parade.

There is an observation deck outside of the Concourse level (level of Chef Mickey's). It offers a great view of the MK, which is perfect for watching Wishes if the kids don't want to be right near the noise.

I'm following along too. I came across your other TR's and just love how detailed you are about everything! I really enjoyed them and can't wait to hear about your plans! We'll be staying at the AoA October 18-27th and I'm in full on planning mode and can't seem to stop!

Hello again!:wave2:Hopping over to your new PTR. Our trip is in mid-July so I will miss you by a few months. Lol!
OOOoo, a stay at the Contemporary? That is FANCY!! Can't wait to hear more about your plans and to see if there will be more new Crocs for this trip.;)

Looking forward to reading along! I have two girls close in age to yours, so I've enjoyed reading your trip reviews and making notes on things to do when our family goes! Your TRs are so much fun to read! Thanks for sharing your experiences :)

I'm hesitant to read your PTR because I'm afraid it's going to make me want to book a September trip! In fact, I have vacation the week of fall break and was thinking about what I could do with the girls. Maybe if I win the lottery or meet a sugar daddy between now and then...

I'm in! :)

We did Contemporary in 2010 after doing Poly in 2009. I will just say...for me personally, Contemporary is no Poly.

I really struggled hard to like it after staying at the Poly (which I LOVED).

The best part of Cotemp for me was walking to MK. That ROCKED.

It's also my goal to stay at every Disney Resort. I often tell people I only have a Disney bucket list. And that bucket lists only has 1) Go to every Disney Park in the World at least once. 2) Stay at every Disney Resort at WDW.

So far I've got, All Star Music, All Star Movie, Pop, Coronado, Wilderness Lodge, Poly & Contemporary under my belt.

This November I'm adding Beach Club for a few days (to run a 1/2 with girlfriends) and moving to Animal Kingdom when my kids & hubby arrive!

I can't wait to read more. I've been reading your latest TR and I finished the first one.

We are in the process of firming up our dates for September as well. Just have to decide on a place to stay and where we're going to eat. Dh made me promise though that if we have an early morning flight, I would not book an ADR for that night :::::sigh::::: I said that could be our Downtown Disney night, I guess. LOL.
I have an ADR problem. I just can't stop!! I'd have an ADR at DTD, too. Just couldn't resist it!

I'm here!
:cool1: Hey, Shannon! Glad you're here!

I'm in. Fellow Geogian here. We will be there September 15th - 28th. We are also doing a Split stay. Right now the plan is to stay at BLT, Fort Wilderness and then BW. However, things are changing so we may end up at the Contemporary.

We are also going to Disney in 27 days for two weeks:cool1:. We will be staying at BC for that entire trip.

I have a PTR going for both of our trips.
Let me know what you decide! I love resort hopping, and it sounds like you do, too!

Woo hoo, a ptr!

Awesome intro too and such adorable pics.:thumbsup2 I wouldn't worry too much about your oldest girlie outgrowing the magic. How do I know you may ask? Because I have a very sassy, just turned 10 girlie of my own who adores Disney, fairies, princesses, and everything that entails!:thumbsup2

I have a dear friend whose (or is it who's?) son is on the spectrum as well. He's high functioning, uber intelligent but does have a few social anxieties he struggles with. I love him though, he is the kindest, sweetest kid! I always make eye contact with him when we speak (at his mom's request) and he starts chattering up a storm.:goodvibes He's a smart cookie!

Alright, I'm going to be honest here, split stays scare me. I don't know if I'd be up to the challenge of moving from one to another. Mostly because I try to be as lazy as possible on vacation.;) (Not true since I get up EARLIER at Disney than I do at home.) Kudos to you on the split stay though! I'd love to stay at the AoA resort eventually. We're big Nemo fans so that would be cool.

Looking forward to the updates here. Judging by your latest tr, I'm going to assume that somehow Magnum PI will work it's way in.:rolleyes1
Split stays are fun! Yes, they are a bit of work, but then it feels like you're spoiling yourself:thumbsup2.
Oh, I hope she keeps the magic! I want her to be a kid for as long as possible.
Brynn is a sweet girl, and she can be a chatterbox, too! Mostly it's about a subject she's interested in and she can go on and on for ages, but her conversation skills have gotten a lot better lately.
I try to work Magnum PI into everything:lmao:!

I'm here!!!! CONTEMPORARY!!!!!!!
MARISSA! DUDE! I KNOW!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the inspiration, kid.

Hello, I've been following along on your TRs and PTRs since the begininng I believe so of course I'm following along for his one...I love your trip video so much, I can't remember if I ever posted that on your TR.
:goodvibes You're so sweet!!

I'm in! I'm a big fan of the Contemporary! Of course, everyone would love a castle view but one of the best things we ever did was get a ground floor garden wing room when the kidlets were little...it was like having a yard right off the patio!
I am having a hard time deciding for that very reason! Pros and cons to both. Sigh...
No matter where we end up, I'm sure we'll love it.

I'm following of course!

You may not know this, but Danielle and I will be there at the same time as you guys! Crazy, huh? Who would have thought!

:scared1:YOU ARE!?!?!?!
Bahahahahaha!!

Yay! Looking forward to this one... :thumbsup2 I love, love, love your cute family! I'm planning our October 7-14 trip now. It can't come soon enough!!!

THANK YOU!! Cute in pictures, WILD in person!!
Are you doing MNSSHP in October?

I am here!! Following along. Your kids are just way to adorable! <3

We *might* be at AOA Sept 14-21. *hoping for FD in the LM rooms!! If not we will def be at Disney during your dates!!
YAY! I feel a DISmeet coming on!
I can't wait for FD to come out already. The anticipation is killing me!!

Coming from your TR where I am very quiet to follow along. My 3 year old DS and I who will be 4 on sept. 10th are arriving on the 12th as well for his birthday. We are booked at art of animation but we may switch if free dining is not offered in the mermaid rooms. This will be his 1st trip where I have to pay for him as well. Happy planning!:cool1: We usually fly from Atlanta because its just us 2 and we have been lucky to never pay more than 70 dollars one way for tickets but since my move to south Georgia we are driving. I am only 3 and half hours away instead of 8hours.
I'm a quiet person on many of the TRs I follow, so I understand!
Cannot wait for the FD announcement. If rumors are true, we'll only have to wait until May 9...but still, that seems forever away!
I would LOVE to only be three and a half hours from WDW!

I love your intro. I love your family and would love to have a DIS meet one day (but not this year, unfortunately). I LOVE that you will be staying at Art of Animation and REALLY REALLY hope that you are not thinking about changing this. Looking forward to reading more!
Mel, I wish we could be meeting up this year, too :worried:.
No worries--AoA will definitely make the cut :thumbsup2.

Hey Ladddaaayyyyyyy!!

I am here! ;)
HEY, GIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRL! Happy you're here, Mrs. Heather!

Ah I'm here!!

As you know we'll be there September 10-21! And are insanely excited about the potential for a Dismeet yay!

I KNOW! I am so excited! We are totally gonna do this DISmeet thing!

You know me, I post first then start reading later. My sister, nieces, BIL, and my mother will actually be at AoA the 12th-18th. (Jerks!!!) lol
JERKS! Who do they think they are?!?!

I'm in. Always up for another amazing trippie with you and the family....

KIM
 That deserves a dancing banana.

So glad!!::yes::

I followed you over from your trip report! I love reading your reports! We decided to stay at the Contemporary this time too! We are staying in the garden wing. I never thought we would be able to do a deluxe but since we only go every three years, we saved more than we thought we would, so we splurged! We are so excited to be able to walk to the Magic Kingdom. We go in July I will let you know how it goes! :thumbsup2
I can't wait to hear all about it! I'm having trouble deciding which area we want to be in. I've booked one, but I'm questioning it...more on that later...

Duh, of course I'm here! SO EXCITED ABOUT SEPTEMBER!!
DUH! You and me both, lady. For realz.

Hi, I am in Long long long time lurker , sorry about that. I have read all your previous Trip reports and loved them. Really looking forward to this one, as I have always wanted to stay at the contemporary , when I was 7 and on my first trip that was my dream resort and still is.
I'm mostly a lurker around here, too, no worries!
What wonderful compliments! Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoy reading.
This is my dream resort, too...well, one of them...Beach Club is up there, too, but I'm not sure when that will happen!

I'm here, I'm here, I'm here. Of course you are already on page 2 (stupid work! it always get in the way of my DIS!).

We have some overlapping days, so I'll have to see if we have some patch up park days!
Stupid job! The whole reason for this PTR is to find out when I can meet up with some of my favorite people!!:thumbsup2

I'm here! Can't wait to read more!
:dance3:Woo-hoo! Thanks for reading!

Late to the party as usual but I am here! I think AOA and CR split sounds Great!
Nah, this party's just getting started! You're just on time!

:banana: Banana back at 'cha! WOOT!

We are doing a suite because we'll be considered five people by then (Sawyer will be three in July). We really did want to stay in the mermaid rooms (Brynn's FAVORITE!), but then we'd have to get two rooms, and they'd be two rooms with no kitchen...I'm still considering it, LOL!!!:lmao: I know the logical reason not to stay in LM, but it's just so hard!
I'm definitely going to head over to your TR as soon as I get my head together. To say it's been a busy couple of months is an understatement!
I'm so happy you're here, Katt.

:cool1: WELCOME!!

I'm here! What a great intro to your family. I'll be sad when your current TR comes to an end!

No worries, I still have a few great days on the other TR! But I'll be sad, too. I get to re-live it as I write it and keep the trip going, sort of.
I'm very excited about Contemporary! Julia loves a good slide (that's her in the video, though she's got so much gear on you can't tell:lmao:), and the little ones love any kid area. Seriously. It could be a simple circle pool and they think it would be the greatest thing ever.
I love seeing Wishes without the noise now that we experienced it from Poly, and I know Brynn appreciates that, too. Is there a good view from that deck? And do they pipe the music in?

I am here! You will art of animation! Can't wait for the details!
I have heard such good things about it, and I am sooooooo excited!

I'm following along too. I came across your other TR's and just love how detailed you are about everything! I really enjoyed them and can't wait to hear about your plans! We'll be staying at the AoA October 18-27th and I'm in full on planning mode and can't seem to stop!

I am definitely a detail person! Sometimes I think I overshare, and then it turns out people like those posts the best; who knew!?!?!
Don't resist the planning mode. Just go with it!!::yes:: Because then I seem normal.

FANCY, huh!? I'm officially one of "those" people!
Oh, there will be Crocs. You can be assured of that. (We may have a slight problem...)

Looking forward to reading along! I have two girls close in age to yours, so I've enjoyed reading your trip reviews and making notes on things to do when our family goes! Your TRs are so much fun to read! Thanks for sharing your experiences :)
I'm so glad you like them and that you're here!

Just go with that feeling, Monica! I'll be on the lookout for a sugar daddy for ya!

I'm totally in!! I watched your youtube video and got all teary! and that video was SO amazing! The editing was awesome!!

My sister and my daughters and I are going to DisneyWorld Sept29-Oct 1st then we hitch a ride on the Disney Dream :)

I love seeing Wishes without the noise now that we experienced it from Poly, and I know Brynn appreciates that, too. Is there a good view from that deck? And do they pipe the music in?.

Yes, there is a good view. You might want to get there early though to get a spot. Sometimes, it fills up. But, there's benches there and everything. I do believe the music is piped in. At least it was when we watched it there!

I will admit, it's not a straight on view of the MK like at the Poly, but it is still neat.
