We will be booking onboard in about 35 days!!! WOOOOO HOOOO but besides that, we have had verandas before and love them(probably not worth the cost, but we enjoyed every second of it no matter how much it costs per minute of use), but are now going with the more cruises theory of inside staterooms. Is Alaska one place that you think it is maybe more worth the upgrade? I have decided we will not do a window, just not enough less money, but with the impression that you can see land most of the trip, the whole reason to go there for us is the scenery.
On that note, if you do get the veranda, would you suggest starboard or port? I assume going north the view is better from starboard (right) and does the ship go slow enough on the way back to enjoy port, or is it like most of the caribbean cruises, once you get there, the coming back is in the middle of the night and considerably faster?
