Calgon take me away. I am about to go play in oncoming traffic on the freeway. My son is failing world history and says that he doesnt know if he took the notes that the teacher asked for that he couldnt produce. He is having a total meltdown and I just cant take it anymore. I swear Im gonna rip him out of this program and put him in the remedial school. I cant take the stress of dealing with him and his homework anymore.

karen good luck with the school! If he's in gifted though... maybe it's time to put him back in "mainstream" (or do I have the wrong kid). good luck!

I'm really tired... feel wiped out... 'nite all!

HI Ya Yas!
Whew! That's all I can say. Whew!

SSB! Sorry I missed Ya. Glad you're doing well.

Tara, definitely go rafting. You will enjoy it! It should be ok, they make you wear vests so you'll just float away if you "fall" overboard. We had one person who oculd not swim at all go with us and he fell over, later jumped in on purpose and still came back fine.

Caroline! Great of you to stop in.

JRKaren, happy trip!

Elaine, nice project you will be doing there.

Suzanne, sorry about the 'puter and loss.

Karen, TENS, never heard of it either. Hope it works. Hoping you can get through the issues with DS.

Amanda, sorry about the IL problems.

Alan, Hey.

Bethie, mmmm chocolate, that's not fattening, enjoy it. A girl's gotta have her chocolate.

Sorry if I missed anyone...kinda foggy about now.

Ted's stress test results were good. He's got a change in meds b/c doc didn't like the blood pressure though. He was a bit pouty lipped over it, and I couldn't help him much since he had to work through it.

Karen, I like the idea of the Calgon take me away...

I went to work Wednesday took work home with me and worked p.m. too. DS went snowboarding Wednesday p.m. and had an injury, drove himself home. I'm not sure how he managed that. DH took him to the ER, shoulder messed up when he fell. ER doc said class 2 and not to worry, he'd be back to work in a week. Follow up with ortho doc today. I had to take him...I missed more work this p.m. picked up x-rays and off to see doc. Ortho doc was quite amazed that ER doc said it wasn't bad. Ortho doc said it is class 3, surgery/pin required he wil be off work minimum 6 weeks. His PAT is tomorrow a.m. I was previously scheduled off for Friday p.m. (Cincinatti butcher fest), now I am off a.m. as no one can take DS due to messed up schedules we all have. Monday is his surgery. Had to change his pain meds too. They gave him stuff that didn't even come close to giving him relief yesterday. I just doped him up and tucked him in. Sigh, please pray. We could all use the extras our way about now.

Good Morning!

DS#2 doesn't have school today, it is Shadowing Day. So, I have to drop him off at my mom's job as soon as youngest leaves on the bus. Then, we have an assembly for DS#3 to go to.

Lily, sorry to hear about your DS. He'll be in my prayers. Glad tohear Ted's stress tests were good.

Karen, for you.

Hi, SSB!!

Morning...

SSB...glad to see you stop by again, although this is the second time I missed ya.

Karen...I felt like playing in on the freeway Wednesday night with Mandy's homework. She went to bed late Tuesday night, so Wednesday was a night of crying through homework. I did not feel like going to Girl Scouts and leading a meeting, but I did it. I told her that I don't work all day and need to come home to this and that if she didn't stop I wasn't signing off on her homework. No way was I signing off on something that was causing me pain. Prayers are with you!

Lily...hope your son is feeling okay today.

Todd's Mom is due at our house this evening. I am off to a yearly Youth Leaders meeting. This is the first year, that she has come, that I am the one not there. Todd usually works and leaves me home to host. Love my MIL, so not that big of a deal. This year he is hosting. I think they will be enjoying Chuck e Cheese tomorrow. I did make a lasagna for them to cook when they wanted.

Later!

Good morning everyone! Clueless as to what I will be doing today :p

Lily, great ketchup there! Sorry that you are still in a bit of a fog! Yay for the good test results though for Ted! Boo on the injury for your DS. I'll keep y'all in my prayers as he goes through it all.

Sherry, enjoy the busy day! I do remember shadowing. It was always kind of interesting to do. Never thought it did that much for me in the long run though.

Amanda, I do hope that all goes well this weekend for you and your family! I am sure they will totally appreciate that lazanga. I might make some the day before I leave for WDW so Luis has something to eat :)

Tara, you're a twit!!!!!
I think this is the first time I've been the recipeient of a Lainey Twitting!! :teeth:

Had a nice visit with Jar's therapist yesterday.... I had to rush to get there, mom took him and I left work a few minutes early so I could get there before he was done...but I felt rushed and we ran over and I felt like I had overstayed my welcome. The man was nice about it...but there were a bunch of people in the waiting room all glaring when we came out. I have never seen that many people there. I think it must have been a group session or something. Anyway, we have more ideas on dealing with Jarrod...tho he told me selling him really wasn't a viable option :confused3 .

He did get a kick of Jar when he asked Jar to explain a picture he had drawn. Jarrod explained that it was something about flying to school. So being a shrink he asked "Jarrod do you really think you can fly to school." Jarrod gave him this "are you stoopid" look and then said, "No that is only in my imaginiation that I can fly." Mr. H got tickled at that and pointed out that Jar does have a very good grip on reality!! :lmao:

Lily...good thoughts going to your ds on his shoulder. And thanks for reminding me about falling in the water!! Just what I needed to hear :teeth:

Kimmar...good to see you!!

Karen...good luck with the ds....instead of you playing in traffic see if he wants to!! (oh wait...is that another one of those things the therapists don't suggest??)

gotta run.
tara

Lily....sorry to hear about your DS. Hope all goes well with that.

Amanda....I'm sure things will go well. Just have a good time on your outing.

Anyone have any good plans for the weekend (or not so good....just any plans ;) )?

Maybe he said she was doing okay and not to come back until she was feeling really run down.

Karen, you know I couldn't resist, but I really do feel bad for your schoolwork stress and hope it works out. The year is over halfway done!

Amanda, sorry for yours too. There are some nights that Lela does nothing but homework and has to stay up late to finish. She is very whiny and tired the next day.

Lily  I hope he recovers soon!

Good morning, Y'all-Y'alls!

Hmmm... next time I'll have to make sure that I call you a twit louder then... I know I've at least muttered it and thought it before :p

As for the therapist... would he think leasing would be a good option? ;)

Nancy, tomorrow we are having a "practice" run for the dance next weekend. So we are getting together at a friend's house and teaching a few steps. I need to burn some CDs to take along with me before I go. That and make some chocolate chip cookies. It's seems like that is a requirement now (me making cookies)

Otherwise my weekend is the same old... halfway relaxing before I head to WDW next ;)

Been helping out my dad with a few things. I think I have him situated on a trip for next month to FL as well as buying a new TV. I think I'll begin my knitting again soon :)

Morning, everyone,

Well, I *thought* Kevin was better, he was at it again at 4am. This morning, I dropped Neil off at school and went back to bed with Kevin. He's acting like himself again, and is bugging me for food.

HP shipped my hard drive this morning. Now I've gotta pack up the fried one and send it to a friend to see if he can pull stuff off of it. If Henry can't do it, no one can. Wish I knew where there was a computer shop like his down here. That said, I'd much prefer having someone I know and trust pulling that info off the drive.

Amanda, hope the weekend is a good one for you. I know what you mean about playing in traffic rather than doing homework. We've had quite a few of those nights.

Tara, imagination is a *good thing* :lmao: Neil lacks it big time. Like your MIA message! Kristy's probably been really busy working on that addition, she hasn't been around much. I'd pm'ed her recently and she says all she's really got time for is the PM's. Miss her!

Lainey, nice picture of the afghan. You've come a long way in a short time on the knitting thing.

Central Florida Weather Update for those soon to be here-66 and sunny, but it was chilly this morning. Don't forget a jacket when you pack!

Lily, prayers headed your way. MIL's injury was a 2 and she's finally herself after a month. Granted, she's almost 80. Hopefully, Surgery will go well and he'll heal fast. Sounds like he's an active guy, that should help.

Sherry, so he wasn't going to shadow you? That's every day he's home, right? :rotfl:

Nancy, I HAD plans for today, but they were killed by a sickie. Off tomorrow, probably going to head over to stepdads for a while with the boys. I'm going to drag this one out in a few to the supermarket and UPS store. The errands I need to run will have to wait, but can't be done on weekends. Ugh.

Karen, if this is what happens frequently with the IB homework, do yourself a favor and take him out. It's not worth the stress to the rest of the family.

Later, I've been invited to snuggle and watch a movie.

:lmao: Yes, please be sure to say it louder!! hehehe

hmm...I didn't think about leasing him...i'll have to try that one!!

Plans for the weekend....hmmm sit around the house tomorrow and get a headache because I'm stuck at home with my two hellions. And then sunday start the day out the same way but end it with a babysitter keeping my children while I go out and enjoy the Melting Pot.

I hope to finish the racoon on the stocking that i'm working on....no where close to finishing it, but might get closer to it over the weekend.

But then next weekend I get to escape for the whole weekend  I know it sounds terrible to want to get away from your kids for a weekend...but I really am ready for it!!

Anyway, I'm going to go back to my sudoku puzzle and ignore my kids :teeth:

Hey All,

Had a meeting with all of eldest's Ds's teachers and the coordinator of the program. Every one of them begged dh and I NOT to take him out of the program because he would stagnate in a regular school. We were told that he is the textbook case for the very highly gifted child. They went so far as to call him brilliant. We were given hints and tips and he now has a study partner to keep him on track with notes and stuff. He also has a phone a friend buddy in case he happens to forget what the homework is. I found out the F really isnt an F because some of the grades are not there. In that class now in order to leave for the day my eldest will have to have some sort of notes down as to whats expected for him to do for that class or he cannot leave before he does. We were told a lot of whats going on is normal for this age group and not due to his ADHD. Having never had a child without ADHD we didnt know this. Dh and I are going to sit down tonight after the kids go to bed and it is quiet and work out our game plan for keeping ds on track and calming things down around this household because things HAVE to change. What was cute was his toughest teacher pleaded with me not to take him out because he is her best student and the one who can do anything at all that needs to be done on the computers. Apparently.....and I didnt know this until today.....my eldest set the whole school up on the computer for FCAT Explorer. All she kept saying was she loves my son and to please keep him in the program and that he was doing excellent in her class. This was the teacher we all immediately disliked when we went for open house because she came off so cold and uncaring. Boy were we WAY wrong about her. It was a very very good and productive meeting and I think things will hopefully be a lot better.

I also took over for Spirit Wear at my youngests school today. I was shown all the ropes and given a kewl bag with the school name on it and STAFF LOL!! I think its going to be a lot of fun to do.

Lily I am so sorry to hear about your sons accident. I hope he heals very quickly. I will say lots of prayers for healing and that the surgery goes very well for him on Monday.

Tara Im glad to hear things went so well with the therapist. So the other people had to wait. I have done that many a time at the therapists office and Im sure they have in turn held up other people. Problems dont always work themselves out in the time alloted. We are going to take our eldest son to a child psych also as soon as we can. I talked with one of his friends mom and she gave us the name of a good one that is really close to home. Maybe this will help him to mature more and deal with stress a lot better. Whats nice is he not only talks to the child but also the parent to get their view on things. My eldest talked to his buddy in private this morning and got the low down on the doctor. I made sure I explained to his buddy how we knew and that we thought it was great that he had that resource and that we were talking about it then so that the other boy thats friends with them wouldnt know anything about it.

No plans for this weekend except ds has a project due that was due today but his teacher gave him the weekend to do it. The boys have Bball tomorrow and church on Sunday. Not so sure Bball is going to continue for my eldest but I hate to take everything away. We have taken most everything away as it is.

This is taking forever to load

Suzanne, you have me laughing... that is not chilly to me :rotlf: Good luck with teh HD. I totally understand what you mean! For me, if we can't do it, no one can. And I will not send away to anyone else to do it!

Tara, just do what we did with the dogs... tie them to about a 20 foot rope and let them run ::yes:: I hope you do have a good weekend after all!

Karen, glad some good came out of the meeting and it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be.

Off to bike & knit for a while :)

Hi Ya Yas!

Thanks for good prayers and thoughts.

Karen, glad that the meeting went positive.

Suzanne, good luck getting the stuff off your drive. Wish I had a magician like you do.

Sherry, hope DS has a good shodow experience.

Elaine, yup! I'd say I understand why the requirement of chocolat chop cookies. Yummmm!

Alan, Amanda and Karen, hearing of the school work reminds me of why I really am glad that I don't need to go through that any longer.

Tara, How about a sign:
Free to a good home
aw gee...or just
Free, take one
Naw, how could I even suggest that. He is such a cutie!

Nancy, Our weekend is Butcher Fest...going to my GF's farm and helping family prepare the meat. Visiting with her family and enjoying great friends.

I'm waiting for Ted to get here. We were supposed to be en route already. I don't know what's holding him. I'm ready and rarin' :moped:

Quiet afternoon in Ya Ya land...

Lily, I'll be glad to send you some chocolate chip cookies!
Though I am curious, what is Butcher Fest?

Nothing exciting tonight here... just vegged with pizza and wings in bed :teeth:

Well, I think the free to a good home is the best. We just had a battle over tooth brushing and bed time. When he goes to bed like this he is a demon in the morning. Soooo this looks to be another long weekend!!

Karen...wait for me I'm going to play in traffic with you!!!! :teeth:
oh and glad things went well at the school.

lily did you have fun with your teddy bear?

Going to watch close to home and then go to bed! nighty night gang!!
