Amanda, that is so precious what you do with the girls. And not a bad thought at all! I do hope Mandy is feeling better soon!

Nancy, I was just about to say you were up early!!! I've never stayed at that resort, but I've heard great things about it. Considered staying there before we got DVC actually. Good luck to Christin... sorry that she is changing her mind again though. Enjoy the day off!

Computer is acting funny so I had better restart. not sure what is up wtih it today!

Just did Pilates though and am tired. I'll blame it on the rain though :teeth:

Good morning Y'all Y'alls.

Yucky meeting at some point this morning, but remembering that I love my job. ;)

Morning all.

I need to get my butt in gear. Got the cable guy coming tomorrow for new cable. Ed mentioned last night that we should probably have them move the cable modem to the room that will soon be the office. This of course, means I have to clean my bedroom! Fortunately, Kevin's room is in pretty good shape, but I have to get the laundry out of my room.

Everyone else got chocolate-now I want some, but I'm not taking any of their good stuff, lol!

Got a call back from my friend. Hard drive is 100% toast, he couldn't pull anything off of it. Bummer part is that it had some great bookmarks on it that I've lost. Most of the other stuff can be recreated. Ed had the pictures backed up onto one of his hard drives (anything from June and earlier) and I don't think I've scrubbed any compact flash cards since then, so we may be good to go. Friendly advice for the day-print out your bookmarks! Make a hard copy of your various accounts and passwords and keep them in a safe place!

Sorry to bring you sad news:

Richie passed at 4AM this morning due to cardiac arrest ~ please pray for his friends and family.... :guilty:

Morning all...

So very sorry Kimmar...my thoughts are with his family and with his friends.....may they keep their good memories in their hearts.

Chris is off to visit a technical college today - Universay Technical Institute. He went with my brother in law and nephew - the boys are 3 months apart in age. I hope he enjoys it.
He got his first progress report of the quarter yesterday - all 90's!!!! I was so happy for him. I "coached" my husband on what to say to him - told him to just say that you are proud of him and stop there- don't add anything like "why haven;t you done this all along" or "we'll see if you can keep it up"...I explained to him that when he says things like this all Chris hears is the negative part and once again feels like what he did wasn't good enough. He took my advice and just praised Chris and it went quite well.
I am so happy that Alyssa will be home tonite....

Suzanne - sorry about the computer woes.....thanks for the back-up advice - something I never think of.
Mornin Alan - just keep repeating I love my job...I love my job.....
Morning Elaine - keep warn and cozy - Hope you computer restarts with no problems - mine has been super slow latety.
Nancy - what will Christin be certified in? And what are her new interests??
Amanda - hope Mandy feels better soon - so nice that they ask for our healing prayers.
Sherry - FL in July - you are a brave one!!

Hi to Beth, Pam, Tara, Karen, and everyone - have a good day.....

morning gang,

Kimmar...so sorry to hear about that young man. That is very sad :(
Amanda...hope Mandy feels better soon.
Alan...hmmm instead of chanting I love my job, I usually chant "I will not choke them, I will not choke them" :teeth: Oh and Jarrod gave out Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles.
Nancy...good luck on Christin making up her mind...I still don't know what i want to be when i grow up!! I keep saying I just want to be rich!!
Elaine...must be nice to go back to bed!! Sleep a little for me will ya?
Paula...good luck to Chris on his visit!
Suzanne...sounds like a nice v-day! I got sloppy kisses!! hehehe Woohoo on the cable!

Ethan now has whatever it was the Jarrod had. And Jarrod is beginning to sneeze and hack. I actually sneezed a few times and my mom asked if I was getting what they had. I told her to bite her tongue!! hehehe I do not have time to get sick and I'm not going to get sick!! (Jack has been gone for almost 5 days!! So I want to keep it that way!!)

more later!!

tara

kimmar, so sorry to hear about that young man. It is indeed sad :(

Sorry Ethan is sick now too :( Hope you don't get it, Tara.
I just know I will get Dave's cold....just in time to go to LV :(
I have been taking Airborne while around him....hope it works.

Hope Chris has a good day. Tech schools can be great resources.

Christin will be a certified physical trainer. She thinks she won't pass the test  But she always thinks that.
New interests?? None....but like Tara, she wants to be rich.
I wish she would do school again and get something that will make some money until she decides what she wants to do....but she is burnt out on school right now.

Dave is off this evening for a job interview.....he loves his work, but hates the people that run the company.

Okay I think I am done cleaning my computer. I even got my laptop out for a while to check on the riddle since it was taking too long

Alan, good luck with the yuck meeting

Suzanne, so sorry aobut the hard drive! To me, my e-mails are the ones I would be lost if I lost... yeah that was redundant... same with the pictures. Glad some of it was backed up though.

Kimmar  So sorry :(

Paula, that is such wonderful news all around!!!! I can't wait to hear how Chris liked the university!

Tara, it was only wishful thinking... never made it back to bed. I feel too guilty doing that if I have other things to do. Right now my bathroom is torn apart since I was not happy with the way I organized it the last time.
Hope all in your house feel better soon!

Got an e-mail from a friend nad former co-worker... she wants to know if I can come back to work. "Part time" at 4 days... money is tempting... but the work is NOT!

I'm very sorry Kimmar :(

Paula, I'm glad that your husband was positive with Chris. Maybe a little will go a long way! I can be guilty of still finding something that needs improving with good news myself.

Keep well, Tara.

Now since Todd and Amanda are planning vacations....

We were going to go on a cruise in May (our first) with friends. Two couples who were leaving the kids behind with families to take an inexpensive 4 day trip out of Mobile.

However, he has gotten the news he will be deployed in May so now they are doing a family vacation together in March (and who can blame them?)

So that leaves Rebecca and I free to change our plans. She still has "vacation mentality" so we can't just pocket the money and do nothing. ;)

Our thoughts are to either take a cruise (possibly the same or possibly a nicer one from Florida) with just the two of us or even a 3 day cruise from Port Canaveral (not Di$ney though) and 2 or 3 days in WDW....or wait until Summer and do a week long family vacation somewhere. Perhaps the Smokies or Washington DC.

Sugggestions? For us, it would be for relaxing couple time with a few touristy things thrown in. If the whole family, then something that would interest an 8 year old and 6 year old girls.

I'm back. I was working on a document ;) and I must say, it looks just as good as it did way back when I first found this lovely paper for it. Mum's the word on the rest of it, though.

Kimmar, prayers for your friend and family.

Paula, WTG Chris on those grades!

Lainey, I use all web mail accounts, partially for that and partially for the virus prevention. I did not install Outlook on this machine because it's a virus mine.

Nancy, good luck to both of your job seekers!

Amanda, enjoy the new work digs.

Alan, you could take a Carnival cruise out of Tampa. My vacations down here involved Hotlanta, Nawlins and WDW. I did spend a wonderful two days in Todd and Amanda land many years ago at Mammoth caves, but I'm not so sure the girls would go for that. My sis and I were caving fools. (still got my carbide lamps and helmets for the non commercial caving I did)

Suzanne

Morning all :sunny:

Tara hope your boys feel better soon. Jessica has had a cold for the past week. Just hoping I don't get it.

Kimmar, I am real sorry to hear about the young man. Prayers for his family and your son.

Elaine my old boss has been calling me as well. Offered me 10-20 hrs a week. Wish I could take it. I loved my old job.

Nancy good luck to Dave and his job search.

ok got distracted with phone calls and forgot what I wanted to type. So sorry to everyone I missed.

Jessica's school was on the Early Show this morning. It was the visit my town segment. Meant to post about it yesterday but never got around to it. It was pretty neat to see our town and her school on national television.

Alan, I think that you ought to just go with you and Rebecca on your own trip. I like the idea of a cruise/Disney trip, but I think you two just need to find somewhere good and get away ::yes::

Suzanne, now you have me curious what you are doing there. As for e-mail, I know it wasn't from there. With the security package I have, I haven't had any issues. The stuff slowing me down was from web pages mostly likely given to me as links from friends

Howdy Tina, glad you popped in again! Very cool that your school made it to national television! Would've been fun to watch. As for the job, sorry you can't go back :( I think if mine were really 20 hours a week I'd htink about it. I had no intention of working, but well... we'll see what Luis thinks.

bumping from page 2...hope to ketchup later... pixiedust:

HI everyone....

Chris is home from the tour - says it was interesting but way too far to commute (about 2 hours) and they do not have housing. I've a feeling that he is leaning more to the engineering/design aspect of automobiles. Not awasted trip though - the only way to learn is to see these things.

I'm feeling alot better today....finally getting the house back in order - did errandsy - even bought some flowers to put in Alyssa's bedroom.

**** Elaine - I forgot to mention that I loved your pictures - especially the "people ones". I'll try to take some while Alyssa is home this week.

Back to cleaning - probably won't check in till tomorrow - have a good night everyone...

:duck:
Hi Todd!

Paula, you are right, never wasted on something like that. Do you have anything closer to y'all that is similar?
I'd love to see any pics you take this weekend :)

Boys had an early dismissal today and are off tomorrow and Monday.

Kimmar, so sorry to hear the bad news. :(

Hi Tina! Good to see you pop in!

Suzanne, sorry that the hard drive is toast. :(

Amanda, hope Mandy feels better soon.

Tara, hope Ethan feels better soon and that you don't catch it.

Paula, we have to do FL in July since that is when DH has his vacation time.

Just when you think it can't get any worse....Richie's grandfather had a heart attack yesterday! They were worried that his grandmother would have problems because she has a bad heart, and HE had the attack! I don't even know if he knows whether his grandson passed... :worried: You can't even make this stuff up......tonite is the funeral of Michelle's 4y-o daughter....it's gonna be very sad

Alan, bumps work best when there isn't a poster right before you ;)

Enjoy that nice long weekend Sherry! I bet the boys will love it!

Kimmar, I'll keep them all in my prayers.

Back from practice. We got out really early so we stopped for ice cream on the way home. Ran into people from church there too which was kind of funny (not choir members)

I'm off to relax... catch y'all later!

awww...kimmar, how sad.

We are expecting the coldest night of the winter tonight with high wind watch....so if I disappear you will know I was blown away...or frozen (or maybe the power went out) ;)
Still no kitty  I hate not knowing where he is especially with this cold snap we're having. I think we may have lost him
