Hey...I'm not the only klutz!! I took a tumble down the stairs last night too. I can't even blame ice! I just slipped on a carpeted stair and fell about four steps. wrenched the arm and the back. (I tend to fall backwards instead of forwards! I also fall up stairs too...so i'm just polish!!)

Beautiful pic of Dom...not so much on the hairy guy! ewww....goood thing I hadn't had breakfast yet!

Busy day yesterday and no time to post. Not sure how today is shaping up! Could be a busy one!!

I'll talk to you all later!
tara

Elaine...I bet Dom gets an A+ at his appt today. The girls' Dr always gave a grade;)

Kristy...The one friends that adopted older kids, not toddlers, just had the issue of the parent coming back into the picture at the last minute. I think she had to stay out for so long before the state took away all her rights. She finally missed one of the dates. These were the only kids they fostered. The other friend has fostered several, but I think only 1 infant that they wanted to adopt. They didn't want to adopt they others. I haven't heard of any issues there. I think if they know you want to adopt they will try to place you with 'adoptable' children. Just makes sense.

Sherry...Girls last day is the 19th. Todd can't wait:woohoo:

Tara/Paula....OUCH!

 Good Morning!
Sounds like I am lucky there are "some" pics I can't see. :lmao:
Elaine - Woo Hoo on Luis having only a little work and then being off for the year. I'm with Amanda, hope Dom gets an A+ at the dr. today.
Hope you are felling better Amanda!
Tara and Paula - Owie! Try to stay on your feet girls! Hope you guys aren't too sore today.
It's warm again here, darn it! This time of year you never know what to wear and it is weird seeing all the Christmas decorations out and people running around the mall in shorts. No, I'm not bragging :rolleyes1 nor do I want that ice Paula has but, it sure would feel more like Christmas if it was a tad cooler.
And can I just say DS' father is a *$%^)# and makes me so  .
Ok, thanks for letting me get that out. Not even a good Cheetoh-ing would help.
Off to do some work.
  to all!

Sorry about the (expletive deleted) Rose Mary, and I know what you mean about the weather. Considering some of our friends are going through ice storms, etc. I am greatful, but 80 degrees just doesn't seem like December.

Pam, I'm going to take back my request for high-stepping YaYas (although I could easily see myself in the future as the stylin Santa in the pic that Kimmar posted). I'm afraid that after Paula and Tara's reports someone is gonna get hurt.

And  to Paula and Tara - y'all be careful!!!

Lainey, I'll bet Dom is the most handsome baby in the doctor's office :teeth: and hope that you and Luis enjoy your day.

Morning, all. Been to work and back for the weekly management meeting. Ugh on giving up part of a day off, but it was productive. Now I want a nap, but there are Christmas lights to be strung up. I'm with Rosemary, it feels weird to decorate when it's 80 degrees.

Alan, I'm glad the leg problems keep me out of the kickline, I am klutzier than Paula and Tara. :teeth:

Kristy, anyone I've known who's fostered had similar experiences to what Amanda mentioned. They tend to place the kids who will go up for adoption with the foster parents who have that goal in mind. How's work going?

Amanda, last day here is the 21st. Sorry the allergies aren't improving even with the shots.

Kimmar, EWWWW on the Earnhardt fan. (where is that puking smiley?)

Tara, when I fall, I don't put my arms out. Thank all those surgeries, my self preservation is that I'd rather hit my face than get more work done on the wrists! :lmao:

Paula, I've got a huge goose egg on my leg just above the back of my knee. No idea how I got it, but it shows how graceful I am. :teeth. Hope shopping is fun today!

Elaine, Dom looks SOOOOO much like Luis. What a cutie. His hair is lighter brown than I thought.

Pam, cool anniversary present. Somehow, it doesn't surprise me that you'd buy each other meat for your anniversary!

We got the kids presents yesterday. Since I'm not having any success finding a Wii and I don't want the boys fighting over it, they're getting DS's. One black, one white. Now to tell the inlaws to get either Target or Wal Mart gift certificates, because Toys R Us around here has lousy game selections.

Funny thing was that we'd made up our minds when we ran to Target with the kids Sunday night. They played with the DS on display and I played dumb about the games on display. Hey, why haven't you asked for THAT game? ;) Got the info I needed out of them without any problems!

.....you should BE so lucky.....

Hi y'all! We had a good day together. I admit I am so looking forward to tomorrow evening though. I get Luis all to myself (ourselves) for four days :teeth:

Before I go on, here are three pics I wanted to share :)

Paula & Tara, so sorry for your falls!!! I am such a klutz too and would do that kind of thing all the time

Amanda, no grade, but Dom checked out great. He gained a pound since he left the hospital :)

Rose Mary, coming from the cold weather here, I never minded it when it was hot in FL and I was there seeing all the Christmas decorations. I love it actually :teeth: Then again I hate the cold!!!

Suzanne, Dom's hair is kind of funny. Kind of like mine. Some golden brown, some dark brown... some things like that. Mine was much darker when I was a baby. Luis, however was a total blonde, so we're not 100% shocked at his coloring. It really is very much like mine right now so I imagine it will get darker. If not, who cares. We're still taking bets on what Dom will really look like as he gets older :p

I hope you all had a great day... we're going to kick back and relax for a while again :)

warning...this will be a very short ketchup

Elaine :cloud9: those pictures are so precious!!! That shot of Luis and Dom sleeping is perfect for a picture frame/scrapbook!!

Paula and Tara and Suzanne...sorry you all have bumps and bruises.

Amanda and Suzanne thanks for the information!

I have to reply to an e-mail from my pastor. He knows of a couple of church members who've been through this.

Kimmar that picture makes me gag every time I see it

RM sorry the blankety blank blank is aggravating you

gotta run and cook some dinner...later taters

OMG, E! all I can say is:

TOO CUTE!!

...dontcha jes' wanna eat him up??!?!?

Elaine, adorable pics. :) Glad the dr. visit went well. Enjoy your family time.
Our last day is the 21st. Can't wait.

Tara & Paula, sorry about the falls.

Suzanne, I'll trade ya weather. :teeth:

Rose Mary, sorry about the ex troubles.

Evening, about to put up a bunch of eBay auctions :teeth:

Elaine, I am loving those baby pictures. Love the one with a sleeping daddy! You look so content with Dom in your arms, too  (the IVs did a number on you, eh?)

Sherry, come on down-there's room for you here! :teeth: If you can send that weather down on hmmm, Saturday morning so I can hang these lights before I go to work? :lmao:

Kristy, sounds like you've got a great pastor there-trying to find you some strength and hope. That's enough of a :scared: picture to scare people away from all Chevy drivers. :rotfl2: (We're having fun with the 8 Budweiser stuff being lame duck around here).

Hey, does Lowes have a 48 car inflatible in the Christmas decorations? We've got more Home Depot around here, and a nephew is a HUGE JJ fan. Suppose I should go check out the website, but if you happen to visit a Lowes...

Suzanne

Warning VENT ahead...

I swear cub scouts is going to kill me!!

I have three boys (2nd grade) one of which is mine, one is the is committee chair's kid, and the other is a kid who lives with grandma.

The problem is that I try to come up with really fun things to do but the boys don't like anything (well Jarrod does...he likes what we do). Example, today I took in stuff to make candy cane reindeer and then I bought plaster snowman ornaments to paint.

The boys made the reindeer in record time. I told them they could make more but they wanted to do the painting. So we cleaned up the reindeer and went to the snowman.

Jarrod started out painting nicely. The other two boys started just slapping paint on with out really trying. The committee member's kid mixed the 4 colors and made a brown that he dragged over the middle of the snow man and then pushed it all away. In less than 5 minutes they were done.

Every month I go through this...I plan fun stuff (stuff I think is fine) and then they act like they are being punished and don't want to do any of it. I'm sick and tired of them not caring what we do. An hour feels like an eternity. They don't want to do the stuff from their book, they don't want to do the fun stuff, they only want to go outside and play. That's fine for a little while but I can't do it the whole time.

I'm tired of trying to put so much effort in when they don't care. So today i snapped and I told the leaders that I quit. I can't keep coming here every week and feel like such a failure. They aren't enjoying, i"m not enjoying so what is the point?

Thhey tried to talk to the boys and convince them to try to pat attention and to do what I'm trying to do with them. That lasted about 3 minutes and then they were running off again. I told hte cub master that i would give it until the end of January and then if things were still not going like I think they should be going that I would quit.

They want me to stay because they "think" i'm doing a good job. Apparently they haven't paid attention to the kids. They don't think i'm doing a good job. I feel like a failure as a leader. I know that I'm a good teacher but I'm a lousy leader. I don't like feeling likes this and i don't really want to continue this. I want Jarrod to stay in scouts and I think I would be better as mom than the leader.

I've been so upset all evening since I don't like feeling like a failure at something. I think I've cried more tonight than I have in ages!!

I just don't know what I should do! ugh!!!

sorry for the incoherent vent....things just always look better in print!

I loved the pictures of Dom. He is adorable!!!!

good night gang!!

tara

Morning!

Tara, so sorry about the rough night at Scouts.

Suzanne, I'd be happy to bring my weather down on Saturday. :teeth:
We're supposed to get snow, so that will really put you in the mood. :teeth:

Expecting a package today and really hoping it comes while the boys are in school.

Tara...sorry scouts isn't going well. I did girls scouts for Mandy, 2yrs. I was suppose to be an assistant, not a co-leader...just a helper. I ended up doing all the lessons while the leader did 'paper' work. It got old since Mandy would get upset I could always 'just' help her. When the leader did lead she never got done on time, parents were upset, Mandy did not like the way she lead the meetings, etc.... I know for girls scouts I always had a basket of items I could go to. Crossword puzzles, coloring sheets, hidden pictures. I would also take some games. I am not sure how cub scouts work but the lessons we taught took a while. Our meetings were 1.5hrs long and we sometimes had trouble fitting it all in. I think boys are harder to keep focused. I know during Junior Achievement it was the boys that seemed to 'daydream'. Don't be so hard on yourself. The kids are in school all day and you are getting them when they are ready for free roam.

Elaine...Thanks for sharing the pictures. Although I don't think Todd is thanking you since it is giving me a bit of baby-itis.

Rainy here....

Hey , where did my post go? It was a really good one too!
Is it the Dis that is slow or is it my work connection? :confused3
Elaine - I  the pics. Tell Luis to remove that hat so we can see his cute face. He looks so snuggly - the baby- :rolleyes1
TARA - Quit it, snap out of it woman! It is NOT YOU! Come on now, is it TOM or what? I know you are frustrated but, think about it. We went thru that when DS was in scouts. Had about 8 scouts w/NO attention span and all they looked forward to was going outside and running around like wild animals. Save some of that frustration for future years. AT 15 they already know it all. Mine has been especially obnoxious lately. Thinking about shipping him to Sherry's house. :wave2: Sherry :teeth: Please drop off some of that cool weather on your way to Suzanne's.
Having our unit Christmas party today. We are leaving at 3 for Dave & Buster's. Wish I could leave at 3 and go shopping. Oh well.
:wave2: to all I missed. gotta get busy and hope this post takes.

Hi y'all! The joys of dealing with reflux today. Luis is coming home at lunch to do some laundry for me

Kristy, good luck with talking with your pastor. I know if we adopted we would've talked with our church as well as the state. Sometimes they know things and can help out in ways you never know.

Kimmar, so far that's a pic I think we might use for birth announcements

Suzanne, anything that touched my skin like that bruised me. When your platelets dip to about 30K, you become a human bruise.

Tara, I am so sorry about scouts. I really have to say it is NOT YOU! I truly do believe these kids have no idea how to have fun like that. They probably sit and play video games all day ;)

Sherry, woo hoo for almost being done with for the year with school. I hope your package arrives for you too.

Amanda, I would apologize to Todd, but I won't. He should be loving the pics just as much as you :teeth:

Rose Mary, have fun at D&B today!!!

Having our unit Christmas party today. We are leaving at 3 for Dave & Buster's.

I'll have a goldfingers, please!

Howdy, sitting at Panera and have a couple of seconds to say hi.

Tara, it's not you! That seemed to be several of the boys last year and there's one like that this year. I suspect you have kids like that in the classroom, too. (Psss, the old pack got in a loooooooooot of trouble last week!) Kevin's leader takes the boys out to run around for the last 15 minutes of every meeting, but they have to behave. Each week, he tells one of the boys its his turn to pick the game they play. Rules are nothing more than a ball to play. (I need to learn Foursquare for the next time it's Kevin's turn)

Sherry, thanks for coming and bringing snow, too! I'll have some goodies for you. :teeth:

Elaine, you are so right. As soon as Neil doesn't have a video game in front of him, he wails "I'm bored". Granted, he perseverates far more than the average kid, but it makes it tougher for the activities. Hope the bruises are healing and not hurting now that you've gotten your platelets back!

Gotta jet back to the busy, busy store. Love how fast the day goes by. Tonight, we work on Kevin's science project by blowing bubbles.

Suzanne

Loved the pics, Lainey. Both of your cuddle partners are adorable :)

I'm sorry, Tara, but am also in the camp of being sure it is the boys and not you.

We have 1st and 2nd graders for Sunday School and there are a few kids who will not try anything no matter what it is. The best I can hope for is a few minutes of a window with them.

My suggestion is to focus on knot tying as a scout skill. Then once you have them all tied to their chairs or the wall you can try to teach them.

Busy day at work - hope y'all are having a good day.

Thanks guys. I was (and sort of still am) having a bit of a pity party. I was so gung ho in the beginning and the less enthusiasm they have, the less I have. And it is not fair to them. I will put my all back into for january and we'll see what happens.

The cub master seems to think I need to make things more competitive. I'm not sure I like the idea of making everything we do into a competition. I think kids should have some desire to do things without it being a sport. oh well...i guess it is just me!!

I do like the idea of tying them up! That and Elaine's duct tape and I should be able to get them under control.

My classroom is imploding this week. Had one kid act like he was stabbing another kid, then one flipped out and ended up in the hall in front of my room kicking the daylights out of lockers, and then today one said something about another's mom and that led to the offended kid knocking the lights out on the other kid.

The kid that was kicking the lockers was a transfer to us from a special program for kids with severe behavioral issues...I love this kid...I enjoy him and he has always been good...well, now he and dad have to move in with mom's mom, mom has deserted them again because of drinking, and he has to get rid of his dog because they are moving. Then you add in changing schools again and this poor boy has more than his little body can handle so he is lashing out. It is making me sad.

Anyway, I'm sorry for such a debbie downer post again. I'm going out to dinner tonight so hopefully I'll get into a better mood!!

talk to you all later,
tara

howdy all...

busy day again...no real time for ketchup but I wanted to tell Suzanne that yes, Lowe's has a giant 48 inflatable car.
