Yes - school was out as of yesterday - Alysa said "mom when you told him he could go skating last night you should have known that meant he wasn't going to come home". Why am I being punished for being a nice mom??

Waiting for my in-laws to come over to pick up the gifts I bought for hte kids (they give savings bonds but always have me picksomething up for the kids to open) - then I guess the search begins. Last words out of Jeffreys mouth were "If you hear from Chris tell him if he's not home by the time I get home tell him not to bother". I am so sad and scared right now.

I will include your neighbor in my prayers Pam.

Quick buzz through, I really need to clean...

but Paula  I said a prayer that Chris either comes home or contacts you soon. Hang in there!!!

Pam, prayers said for your friend and her loved ones as well.

I will be back :)

  Paula!! I'm worryin' right along with ya. Prayers, prayers and more prayers. Keep us updated.

Good thing we aren't expecting any company or anything--no time to really clean the house. Got a ham for christmas dinner and I may even open a can of cranberry sauce to dress things up a bit! Good thing I picked up a Mickey T and a hat at WDW for my "faux grandson". I still haven't started the book I promised his mom I'd make for the little guy!

Getting really busy with bookkeeping, too, since it's the end of the year and tax season is fast approaching. Got another client who wants me to do 4-8 hours a week. I'm thinking he doesn't realize it doesn't really take that long, but I won't know for sure until I see what kind of a mess he actually has. Beginning to think I may want to cut my hours a bit at the store, since the CPA office will be wanting me to do the extra tax season work too. We are back up to 4 full-time managers on staff at the store now, so I could easily cut an hour a day. Must see how the head honcho feels about that.

Love looking at everybody's pix!! All the new spectacles look wonderful--I'm due for my check up in Feb. and might have to try on a few new looks, myself. BTW, I was told at work that the flash reflecting off the back of the eyeballs is what makes human eyes red, dog eyes blue, and cat eyes gold in photos. It's a biological thing and the reason you don't see the dogs' pix with blue eyes as often is that they aren't usually looking directly at the flash or they are farther away. Don't know if it's all true, but a professional photographer is who told me.

Time to head out--big sale starts Tuesday and we have 48 pages of items that have to be marked down!! Joy of joys

God bless you all, this Christmas! May your holidays be merry and bright and the new year be filled with love and laughter. I love you all and treasure you all as family. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of it. :grouphug:

Alan...enjoy your family time and getting ready for the holidays!! Oh and why do Alabama lic. plates say something about the "Stars"? I can't think of the whole phrase but I'm sure you know what I mean!

The song "Stars Fell on Alabama" is based on a huge metor shower around the turn of the century (too lazy to look it up ;) ) For years, locals based dates on 3 years "after the stars fell", etc.

Of course, it was a decision by the governor to place that on the plates instead of "Heart of Dixie" so that it would be less offensive. I think a better slogan could have been chosen, personally.

Paula, thanks for the album link. I love seeing people's Christmas decorations.
Prayers are being said for Chris. I'm sure he's fine, but please keep us updated.

It's amazing what a little furball can do to make your heart pound!
That's what Mrs. AA says too ;)

Always room at the Dew Drop Inn for you, Pammykins!

We are fully in social mode now.

We had supper at MIL's on Tuesday night so she could have us over for Christmas at her house.

We went through a lot in the house on Wed. and did more shopping that needed to be done. We also had a "family communion" service at our church that would seem weird to most of y'all but was very special to us

I did some more shopping yesterday and then we went to the nursing home to be with Rebecca's grandmother at her Christmas party. It took a hunk out of the afternoon but we are very glad we went.

Then it was over to Daniel and Michelle's for a Christmas get together with our friends. This is the couple we cruised with and have boys that our in our girls' classes. They will be moving to New Mexico in Feb.

We all wore pajamas and ate snacks, watched Polar Express, exchanged gifts and the kids decorated gingerbread houses. It was fun

Tonight we continue a tradition that has continued for several years. We will go to some friends' home in a town north of us, eat supper and then he will read a Christmas story to our girls. We began this long before we had kids when his son (now a Lt. in AF and married) was a small boy.

Tomorrow is the onslaught of relatives, so wish us luck as we prepare!

Chris just called - he was at his girlfriends the whole time ( no I don't have a # for her - I don't even know her last name).

I told him he needs to come home ....NOW.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Thank God he is healthy and safe so that you can make him wish he were otherwise!!

Paula - glad you heard from Chris and that he's okay! :thumbsup2 And you vent away any old time you want to - that's what we are here for!!!!!

Why oh why can't kids understand the worry and heartache they put their parents through?? :confused3 (My Mom always chuckles when I ask her these questions! :teeth: )

Alan - boy, are you ever the busy little socialite!! No being a :happytv: couch potato for you! Sounds like you and your family are truly enjoying the Christmas season!! :goodvibes

Paula I am soo glad Chris finally called.

Liz- no snow here :sunny: I don't miss it at all. Saw enough when I lived in Alaska.
Everyone is so busy. It is always quiet aroud here. Sometimes it is nice to live thousands of miles away from family.

He's still not home yet....calls are going right to his voice mail - which he sayd he does not get so I didn't bother leaving a message. Alyssa is gone with my car so I'm stuck here....

Aaaarggghhhh! Boys who are 18 or about to be 18!!! :sad2:

Sorry, Paula! :guilty:

Just in case I don't get back here before the boards go down...everyone have a great evening and day tomorrow...enjoy those people in your house that you now have to converse with!!

I'll be cross stitching as fast as I can to finish the munchkins stocking before Sunday night!!

hugs to everyone!
tara

Awwww... Paula, I know you would. Problem is, Chris knows that, too and he's got you pegged as a wonderful, compassionate, and soft-hearted Mom and he manipulates the situation! :guilty:

.......and it's Christmas....I don't know if he wants me to keep him in the house totally or kick him out (not that I am anywhere capable of that but I can't speak for my husband)......

Paula

I am so sorry you are going through this... maybe it's time he sees his good gifts go back to the stores or to a shelter. I would imagine after the last incident with him that this would be cause for grounding all through break.

Nails are done, boys gifts are bought, only have 1 more gift and I am done! :bounce:

Still haven't made it to the bank yet. About to head there in a few. Liz, sorry, but I need those $50's and $100's. :lmao:

Paula, so sorry Chris is putting you through this right now. I am so glad he at least called, though. I think a grounding during break would be in order.

Pam, you can get a mouse for your laptop. ;) You HAVE to take a pic of DS's leg lamp for us to see!! :teeth:
Prayers for your friend.

Elaine, good news about your grandma. And yay for finding the robe. I started my cleaning yesterday. I just need to mop tonight and do both bathrooms today and I'm done. Although I'm sure it will be a mess again by Sunday. :rolleyes1

Beth, sounds like a nice Christmas dinner for you. Hope you enjoy your time off.

Liz, can't wait to see the Glamour Shots pics. :teeth: No snow here for Christmas either.

Lily, Junior and I have similar tastes in music. He had my iPod though cuz his wasn't working, so everything was wiped off mine so he could listen to his books while at work. So, I'm glad to have mine back with music. :teeth:

Tara, enjoy your break.

Kimmar, you enjoy your break too.

Suzanne, I could do the mine thing about the laptop. :lmao: Hope your boys enjoy their new computer. We need to get one more computer in this house, then all 4 boys could do the computer thing at the same time! :teeth:

Alan, wow, your just a social butterfly. :) Enjoy all your socializing. :)

Tina, thanks for the recipe. I'm gonna have to try that one soon.

In case I don't get back on before the server goes down, I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. I am so glad I have the gift of your friendship. :)

 and  to all!!

So long my friends!

I hope that everyone has a blessed, safe, and Merry Christmas and enjoy it as you best see fit.

See y'all next week.
