Good morning, everyone!

I had a wonderful day with WebmasterKathy. We went on a duck tour (a tour of Boston by land and water). We walked through the fruit market at Haymarket. Had dinner in a little cafe in the North End. Went to the Improv Asylum for some comedy. And finished the evening by grabbing some pastries at Mike's (a very famous pastry shop) in the North End. It sure was a whole heck of a lot of fun!

Bethie, your Mickey wands are so cute. I want one!

Note to self: Don't go anywhere near Pam during archery season. We know she holds grudges about the thing with her husband--it's not my fault I'm so irresistable!

Tara, glad you made it safely to the scrap meet. Wish I could have been there. Bad timing for me.

Dave, what a good guy you are to get them lunch, and green m&m's.

Suzanne, hope your mom is doing well.

That's all I have time for right now. Have to run out to do food shopping and leave here to meet Kathy in about 90 minutes.

Karen

Quick hi... need to get ready for church. Then after lunch I have a wedding shower to go to. Not sure I'll go back in the evening for the late mass or not. We'll see how I feel.

Paula, loved the recap there! I admit I am actually dying to get on IASW now. It's been far too long fo rme! So glad you had a good trip though!!!

Nancy, had it in my head you were gone 2 nights, not one... silly me

Note to self... don't send kids to school!

Bethie, loved the pics!!! We need more of faces though ::yes::
Noticed your hair is getting longer though... looks great :)

Tara, sorry about the delays and the clerk... but that all had me laughing!

Suzanne, I'll pass... I have my own older sister... don't want to break in another ;)

Karen, glad you had a good day in Boston with Kathy.

With that I need to go. See y'all later!

Tara, I missed your stories last night! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Not going to Mom's this morning. She's sleeping, and I have to be at work at 2. We'll figure something out later...

Getting a little computer time, then cleaning, as I suspect that they'll head over here tomorrow if mom is up for it. Remember, Ed says if my sister sees our house, she'll move down here. This is the sibling we WANT to move here, lol! Yeah, I know-I've got way too many siblings that you need a scorecard!

Suzanne

:rotfl: Tara....sorry about the mishaps, but good that you can laugh about it all :teeth:

Continued good vibes for your mother, Suzanne.

Lots to clean today.....why does being gone a couple days, make such a mess ?
And only the cats stayed home.

We are going to the movie today....seeing Serenity. Been waiting for that one a long time.

Pam makes mental note to NEVER go road-tripping with Tiara..... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Beth - sounds like you hosted a fantastic Crop! :cheer2:

JRKaren -     Glad you had fun at your Boston DISMeet!! I wanna go do the Duck Tour again. We did one years ago at Wisconsin Dells. Pittsburgh now has them.

Nancy - didn't you know? Your cats held a party while you were gone! Precious flew out for it (1st class, of course). She had a great time! Still has a wee hangover, though! :cat:

Elaine must have been a good girl and went to Church this morning! We didn't. :guilty: We have been visiting other Churches as it's not working out with the new pastor and the issues with some of the congregation who forced the ouster of our former pastor.

Heading up to my Mom's in a little bit!
Mad love to one and all! :Pinkbounc :love2: :love1:  :goodvibes

They always party  Glad that Precious could make it. ;)

Here is the only time we got a glance at the crater

Headed to the movie and lunch now. Have a good day everyone.

Not such happy news on the church front... due to dwindling interest in people wanting to become clergy, we have a shortage of priests. There will be a meeting within the Paulist Priests at the end of thsi month to decide what to do... they say 5-7 of the 22 churches through out the nation could be eliminated. I hope we'll make the cut, but honestly I am scared. That place has been the only "home" I've felt comfortable in since I found it 10 years ago. I just hope we won't hear bad news at the end of the month... our "family" is all there now, and I'd hate to see it go.

So yes, Pam, I was a good girl and went to church this morning. If I feel better this evening, I'll go back again :)

Shower was nice... not too long, no silly games really so I enjoyed myself! René is so excited and happy about everything... very cute to watch. I am so full though my stomach hurts

Suzanne, I do hope the right sister decides to move down there :teeth:

Nancy, neat pics, and I am sorry you came home to a mess. I guess the kitties partied too hard :p Cleo says if she's off her medicine the next time she'll come out for one. And of course Gwenie is too shy to fly alone so she stayed home too! ;)

Pam, hope you enjoy your time with your mom! And good luck finding a new church. I can't imagine having to do that again.

:wave2: Hi Sherry!!!

Morning Ya Yas! It was morning when I started this, then my Internet connection went out. Sigh.

Early morning, dogs out and fed, papers retrieved, laundry laundering, coffee and breakfast over, going to work now. (Have a project for here at home) Must earn $.

Karen, glad to hear of your day. Seems like a full one at that. Glad it turned out well. Hope all goes well for your other DS now that re-organization and re-communication is underway. I admire your involvement and ability to get through to the teaching staff. We tried with our DS and it was to absolutely no gain. I wish we would have known how we could have managed that part better. We had difficulty breaking through the union stuff. Oh well, past cannot be changed. But I am loving that you are able to meet with such positive response and that you seem to make it right for your guys.

Pam, uh oh archery season. You participate? Seems like you got a lot done yesterday. Trombone repairs, ouch$ Hope you find a place of worship that suits you without having to drive forever to get there. Was visiting you Mom a good day? Hope so.

Nancy, glad you made it home safely. You going back on Thursday or to a different place? I hope you enjoy the movie. I’m thinking I don’t clean at all compared with you. I wish I were doing a bit more than I do, but then I’d have to work all the time and I don’t think so…

Paula, love your trip report. I have those blues too. You need to definitely begin planning another to rid those blues!

Beth, thanks for the pics and the crop report. Looks like everyone was doing so well. Cute Mickey wands. Clever you are.

Tara, oh my! Hope your return trip is much less “scenic.” Enjoyed your story though.

Suzanne, sorry I think I’ll pass on your offer I have myself about as full as I desire with my family. Your are right though, maybe someone else will find a better “fit.” Sorry you are going through that. I love your idea of the scrapping book for your Mom. It is fantastic.

JRKaren, glad you had a great time with Kathy. Sounds like a fun trip. Some day I want my plans to get me to Boston and trek the “Freedom Trail” and such fun stuff…is that still something that people do these days. I did that trek a million years ago. Also on my “list” is a NYC trip and one to DC.

Sherry popped! Hi there!

Well, after I did some employment type work, DH wanted to air out TEDSBIRD so we took a drive, shhh I know in spite of gas prices. See, we haven’t had it out much this summer. It was a perfect afternoon. We are back and he’s grilling now and running in to watch NASCAR. I will return to do my work stuff again after dinner. Need that vaca $.

Hi LIly
Going to CA for the weekend to see my baby boy. Can't go too long without seeing my kids  Suppose they will get sick of it someday.

This would be the summer that we took all those road trips  Still one more to go.
I think it cost us about $65 in gas for this one we just did.

Cleaning......well, If someone around here wasn't such a slop, I wouldn't have to do as much....and no, it isn't the kitties ;)

Hi gang,

Just getting the chance to get online since I got home. glad you all enjoyed our scenic trip!! I told Beth, that everything with me turns into an adventure....so if you a quiet trip with me...you better stay home!! lol!

We found the ihop that Beth told us about, waited about 20 minutes, stuffed our faces and took off for home....ok, so we had to stop and buy a map and turn it 12 directions until we figured out wich direction we needed to go to get home. This time we chanted "495 South, 495 south" We actually found it without having to make one U-Turn!! :rotfl:

We stopped at IKEA and did a little shopping and then headed for home. Not one mistake this time! It was a very short trip compared to Friday's trip. We had a great time. i'm so glad we did it and we didn't even scare poor Astrid.

I'll post some of my pics later this week when I have some time.

I'm exhausted, so I'm going nighty night!! See you all tomorrow!
tara

Hey All,

Another busy but fun filled day. Went to church this morning and did Kidz Church....didnt make it to big service today since setting up for Kidz Church is so labor intensive now due to the 40 days of Purpose. Much more in the way of mics and video etc.... Came home. Ds was AWESOME, got right to his weekend homework and did it with little prompting from me. I gave him a timetable and he just pretty much stuck to it. We re-reorgnized his new binder and now his notebooks fit in there too. Now he cant misplace anything unless he misplaces the whole binder which is kinda hard to do.

Lily I havent always been so lucky with the teachers. My eldests son's fourth grade year was a year from HELL with that teacher. She had him nuts. she had me nuts, we even ended up having a whole meeting with the behavioral specialist, school psychologist, social worker, ESE specialist, vice principal, principal, the teacher, dh, and I. It basically ended up with them telling her to LAY OFF of him, and him getting his IEP in the works. She even went off on me during the meeting and they made her appologize to the staff for doing so....never did appologize to me though. Most other years I have been lucky though and very lucky with the other staff in the school in getting things situated for the kids. I approach it as how can I help him help himself and in turn help you. Thankfully most of the teachers have been appreciative about my involvment in the childrens schooling.

Nancy I am sorry you came home to a mess. How was the movie? KEWL pictures! Im sorry you didnt get to see more of the mountain.

Elaine I will be saying prayers that your church survives the cut. I know how important church family is and I know how I would feel at the thought of losing mine. They mean the world to me as Im sure yours do to you. Im glad you had fun at the shower.

Karen I am glad you are having so much fun. Its so neat hearing about Boston. I know so many of the areas that you talked about. I sure miss visiting up there. My sister used to live in Welesley and we went into Boston all the time when we visited up there. I cant wait for my youngest to get a little older so we can take him up there and expose him to the history of Boston.

Ya know what surprised the heck out of me over the last week. My eldest was doing some homework in History and they are actually studying stuff from the BIBLE! I was under the impression that only the big bang theory was taught here but apparently, at least in ds's program, it isnt the only thing taught. It was so very nice to see.

ROFL I am being serenaded over here. Dh is in our room doing work that he brought home. He has the music going full blast in there with the door shut and I can hear him SINGING AWAY in there. Too funny. I finally replaced his reciever and he is in his glory being able to play all his music while he works.

Well I think Im gonna hit the hay. Tomorrow promises to be an interesting day. My coworker is off so I will be doing both her job and mine.....not sure HOW but I am LOL!! Better get a good nights sleep. Sleep well everyone.

HUGS TO ALL!!! :grouphug:

Hi all! Tired... did the two evening services so ready to sleep!

Lily, today was a perfect day to take that car out! Glad you got to enjoy it!

Nancy, sorry about that! You think when kids move out it might get better... really they are one and the same (DH & kids ;))

Welcome home Tara!!! Can't wait to see pics! And I am glad you didn't get lost :teeth:

Karen sounds like a nice day in general!

Okay time to take out contacts and sleep. See ya!

DH is worse, I am afraid. I trained my kids :teeth:
Someone else trained him and he must have been too old to retrain.

I didn't really come home to a mess.....a mess came home with us. Because someone unloads everything and plops it in the middle of the floor....I unload slowly and put everything away ;)
Yep....that's my method.

Closing down early to watch TV.

Glad the trip home was uneventful, Tara. :)

Oops, forgot, movie was great!! ::yes::

Morning Ya Yas!

Nancy, glad you enjoyed the movie. Ah yes, returning from trip messes, how fun!

Karen, hope work flies by and you don't get too over worked.

Elaine, hope ya slept well.

Tara, Yay! for arriving home safely and having an uneventful return. Hope you slept well. It would take me all week to recover I am sure.

Speaking of that, I went to sleep at 1:00 this morning; I am tired. Oh joy, off I go. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Hunnies, I'm home!!!!! AGAIN!!! :flower:

Tried to do some ketch-upping but, just can't seem to get thru it all! Too much to do and no more time to procrastinate

Just got back from Key West where Hurricane Rita made a drive by. Not too much damage other than flooded/washed out roads. We worked one block off Duval St. where all the action is! So, at lunch we were able to check out the different shops. Had to save the bars for night ;) . Funny story (well, wasn't too funny at the time  ) I was walking down Duval st. checking out a really nice looking male riding a motorcycle, when I notice another nice looking male across the street also checking out Mr. Motorcycle Man. SO, who do you suspect Mr M was checking out????? YEP,You got it, Mr Man across the street. Geesh!!!! What a waste. Anyhoo, got sloppy at Sloppy Joes, visited Margaritaville and had some great Cuban food. My new favorite is cafe con leche. Oh and did hit the Southernmost Starbuck's location. Hopefully will have some pics this afternoon if I can figure out how to post them. :confused3

Must get to cleaning, washing and the like. Missed ya's and glad to be home. Anybody got the Cliff Note's on what I missed?? Hope everyone is
happy, healthy and all that good stuff.

Later gators!!! :wave2:

Morning all! I sure slept last night  Soon I'll head out and walk to the grocery store to pick up little things I need. Since I know I won't have anything that will spoil, I don't mind walking that far :)

LOL, I guess it is hard to break some men's habits from how they were trained! Fortunately I know Luis could be far worse! I am sorry that Dave just kind of dropped eveyrthing and made it bad though. I'm usually not very keen on that.

Lily, I hope you were able to get some sleep too!!! Why were you up thta late?

Yay!!! Our Rose Mary is home again!!!! That is kind of funny about the guys! WOuld make me laugh too! If you need help with pics let me know, I'll be glad to help out!

Off to get dressed and head out! See y'all later :)

Good morning.

Welcome home, RM. Hope you get to stay for awhile. Glad you had some fun in there too.

How far is the grocery store, Elaine. Have a nice walk.

I get to clean house and do laundry today  Oh fun...and any leftover time goes to sewing.

Well I nixed the grocery store walk and ran errands instead. I realized I needed more than what the grocery store could offer. The cruddy thing is I came up with nothing for the other things I wanted that the grocery store doesn't carry. I should've walked (it's only about 1-2 miles) ;)

Good luck with everything Nancy! Sounds like it could be a busy day!

Good afternoon, all!

Just a quick one here.

Had another fun day with Kathy yesterday. We met a bunch of DISers for brunch at Fire & Ice. Got ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Wandered around a bit. It was a beautiful day.

Lily, you should definitely make the trek up to Boston sometime. People walk the Freedom Trail, but I've never actually done it. So if you come up, I'll have to walk the trail with you :)

It's going to be a loooooong work week. I leave for Disneyland on Sunday, and it's going to take forever to get through this week!

That's it for now.
