As for keeping cabana boys warm, since Kimmie will be here too, I will take mine with me and lock 'em up in my room. I don't trust her ;)

Glad you have a nicer person at the gym now, Tara!

I'm off to bed... see ya in the morning!

Has anyone heard from our south florida folks??? They got power yet?

I imagine that they still don't have power and/or phones. I host all of my photos (including my DIS signature) on a website that is hosted on a computer in West Palm Beach. And they got hammered from what I have seen on the news and on the internet. I don't expect to see my website (or photos) for quite some time. A shame, too, because I wanted to post homecoming dance photos of my two teens. I guess that should be the least of my concerns because there are people not only without power and phones, but who have had their lives turned upside down due to all the storms this year. I'm sure that we will all be glad when hurricane season ends.

Oh btw, I heard that some will be w/o power for as long as 2-4 weeks (both Miami area) so it might be a while for some!

Now I need to go... see ya!

Evening, all.

Had that 13 hour day today. It's a part of retail. I'm living with lots of guilt, and the guilt associated with not being there for a big visit tomorrow prompted me to offer to stay until closing to do some tasks. I felt really productive-got tons of damages processed. Boss is very compassionate about the whole thing.

Busy day on tap for Thursday. Mom in the am, kids to the doctor in the early afternoon and if there are still tickets, we may do Not so Scary. Ed's going to be taking his mom and sister around to look at houses that their realtor suggested. They wanted to see our house, to see if they want to go with a house already done by our builder, so they're coming in the morning. It made more sense for them to take one car and for me to head over in the afternoon.

Apparently all the time down here has made an impact on my sister. She hasn't seen much of Florida but the inside of the hospital and hospice and yet she wants to move here. Now she's going to work on her husband, lol. Once she finishes nursing school, it's a very real possibility. Gotta remember to pay off her kids for bugging her to see Neil and Kevin every day :teeth:

Those recipes sound yummy! Kim, you can come over to my place and help with baking-I don't burn stuff. I'll let you take stuff home if you help make and clean up!

Yay, John's going to be joining his yaya sistahs!

Speaking of which, has anyone made plans for Very Merry yet? We didn't do it last year and it's on the top of our list for this year

Parting funny: My sister who's been told off (a/k/a "Legacy lady") has been given daily voice mails about the Mom situation. However, she hasn't answered the phone, nor does she call me back. Tonight, she called Hospice and they wouldn't connect her to the room. I guess she's afraid of me since I told her off! :rotfl:

Dunno if I'll pop in tomorrow. If not, hopefully the headaches all go away, the kitties and sistahs all get better, the baking goes well, the students listen to the teacher and the cabana boys make preparations for being confined to quarters soon!

Suzanne

Suzanne, I do hope you get to MNSSHP (or whatever)! It always looked like fun! Good luck trying to get your one sister here! I would say your other is scared. Kind of sad that she won't talk to you (though I can understand it might not be a loss).
Oh if you invite Kim over, she can boil water... we've seen that! The rest she'll keep you company for :p

No plans for MVMCP this year. Honestly it's just become too expensive for what I get out of it. Just feels more crowded every year, and I guess I've become too cheap ;)

:wave2: Morning Sherry! How are things with you?

Suzanne...the kids aren't listening to your advice about listening to the teacher!!
We are doing (we being my two monkeys and my mom) MVMCP on 12/1. WE are going to do DAK that day, go back to the hotel rest, and then head out.

I've seriously made up my mind that we will not do WDW in fall of 2006 (1..I can't afford to pay for the whole thing by myself again, 2...don't want to take Jarr out of school again) but I am going to plan a 2007 trip to DL!! So everyone start planning your 2007 trip to DL!! woohoo!!! Maybe by then I will have a rich husband!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I just kill myself sometimes!!

Okay, I've already thrown one temper tantrum today...so I'm going to try and not throw another before the day is out!! :teeth:

hi to all!!

tara

Oh and I forgot the weather forecast here....47 when I woke up (had the windows open, the fan on, and the warming blanket turned on!!), high today 58!! No heat turned on yet!! We are hoping to wait until after our trip to WDW!!! Besides with the cost of natural gas....I think we just may wait until February!! Those kids have enough close they can just layer 'em up!! :rotfl:

Just kidding of course!!

tara

The official gathering of fans of The Mouse are planning to attend MVMCP on the evening of December 1st, so that's when I'm planning to go. I have to agree with Elaine, though. It is really hard to justify the extra money for MVMCP, especially after having attended for several years in a row. The highlight is the extra fireworks that accompany Wishes. And of course being there with friends. If anyone else is going on December 1st, let me know. Ray Sharpton has a meet scheduled that night that he has posted over on the DIS Meets board. Perhaps I'll see some of you that evening???

Hello everyone!

Just popping in for a quick hello.

I'm not sure if I'm doing MVMCP this year. I rellly want to wait until the Jellyrolls schedule comes out to make a decision. If Scotty's back, I have a feeling he'll only be working a couple days a week, so I don't want to buy tickets if it's one of the only times I can see him play. I've been to MVMCP about eight or ten times now--I can live without it if I have to. But if tickets are available the day of, I may change my mind on that.

Karen

Hey Karen...is day 5 up yet??? I haven't had a chance to go look!

tara

Speaking of Christmasy stuff... I just did about 20 Christmas Cards. Fun stuff ;)

I think if it were a solo trip for me, I might be more likely to do MVMCP, but with one or two others, it's just a lot!

Tara, who knows what I'll be doing in 2006 let alone 2007... though there are times I think I would like to go to DL again. Extremely different feeling parks to me!

But no heat until December?? Um... yeahno! No way I could wait that long!

You know meeting up with Ray again would almost make it worth it to go that night. He is such a sweetheart! But unless we get more money I know I can't do it. I don't think Luis would appreciate me leaving him for it ;)

:wave2: Hi Karen!!!

I think I'm going to run an errand or two. I should also go to the grocery store, but not quite in the mood. I need to scrub down the kitchen & bathroom between now and Sat morning as well.

Hi everyone!!

Suzanne - I know the guilt when you feel like you are not giving 100% to everything - glad you felt like you accomplished something at work - even though it took so long - and just for the record I think you are doing a great job - being daughter - sister - mom - wife - employee!! :flower3:  :flower3:

Sherry....helloooooo!!

Elaine - I'm still thinking of a nickname for you - :confused3

Tara - trips and tantrums.....what's next??

Nancy.....brrrr........ :cold:

John... :wave2: happy planning....

JR Karen... I've got to get over to the other board and read your trip retort.

I must say that I do wish to someday see WDW decorated for Christmas.

Today is a good day so far - Christopher went to his first counselling appt today and told me he liked the guy!! I am very encouraged. The counselor has already come up with some good plans and ideas. One idea was to find the "thing" that would inspire Chris to do well in school - Chris told him about his passion for cars - etc - so - our "homework" is to research and arrange to go to visit at least 3 technical colleges!!

I have to tell all of you my wierd phone story.....right now I hve 3 phones in my house - wall phone in the kitchen - dead cordless phone in my bedroom - very old cordless phone in the basement....well- every night the basement phone only - rings - at @11:35pm....how freaky is that??? They are all on the same line - if I pick up the kitchen phone after I hear it ring there is a dial tone........

More later......

Awww Nancy, they are adorable!!!

My back is hurting me so I am not wanting to stick on my computer too much. Still lots to do around the house for me to be happy by Sat morning.

Tara, enjoy your dinner out! I say that's a fair trade :)

Paula, glad to hear the good news with Chris! I am so glad things seem to be looking up for him. have fun researching!
Oh and that is weird... maybe someone called and hung up immediately and only one phone registered? I know one of my phones rings quicker than another.

Where's a cabana boy to massage neck & back when I need him *sigh*

Actually Paula, I have reocurring back trouble I've been to PT for. So if I am working hard around the house and not paying attention I can hurt it. Also if I lean forward a lot (slouch) I run into troubles too! Not sure how it was initially hurt... probably a combination of many accidents while skiing and being klutzy as well as having scoliosis. We aren't entirely sure. So while I am thinking about it, I should lay down on my stomach to help it out :)
