Kimmie, the horse is smoking dandilions out by the Miata.
That darn horse always gets to have all the fun!

Hey, my thumb is blue. What's up with that?

and the toe rings are in the basement.
Gasp! I wondered where they went!!

:wave2:

Made some quesadillas with my new Quesadilla Maker. Yummy! :teeth:

Elaine, yup, we're pretty big Bucks fans here. :bounce:

Nancy, those cookies sound yummy! Save one, or two, or five for me. :teeth: :hyper:

Hmmmm 700/75=9.333 cookies... I'll take that many and forget about eating anything else today ::yes::

Kimmie's thumb is blue? Ummm.... kay :p

Have fun with the new Quesadilla maker, Sherry!!! And it sounds like y'all are bigger fans than we are

Kimmie, you are so dang cute :)

(meant with utter sincerity too)

Hey! I love new look. Change certainly keeps me on my toes. It seems I can never get bored this way.

I am having just the time. I tried to post yesterday during my afternoon "break" and it didn't work because I just got quite busy. Then I sent myself the post I was working on via email...well I fell asleep last night and here it is night again!

UPDATE ~ This time last year we were still trying to find out what was wrong with DH. Well, it's official - he has Celiac's Disease, which means a severe allergy to gluten (wheat and wheat products, as well as other grains, like barley, etc.) So, how do I explain to an Italian "NO PASTA" . . . . :( ? (actually we tried the Gluten-free kind [made with rice flour] and it wasn't too bad!)
I saw your post on the CB. Sending PD your way. I hope that the eating change has positive results now that you know what it is and how it can be fixed. No barley…hops…Oh dear. That is a “wonderful vegetable.” :)

Elaine, ow! ow! ow!

Aladin. Hey you guys! Save one for me! (TC--that is a great bargain!)
:hyper:
JRKaren, thanks for the Flat Stanley link. You know I have really learned a lot about him. I have seen the sightings on our local TV station too. It is such fun! No flat Ya Yas? Well, there's still time. Maybe we can think about it some more.

Nancy, sorry you didn't get to go to the movie. Mmmm cookies! We are making Apple Walnut cake for our bake sale tomorrow. These seem to be a hit and it is the third batch going in.

Kimmie put in her thumb and pulled out a ....what would turn it blue? Hmmm.

Sherry, Quesadillas, that sounds yummy too!

Deena, Member Cruise, will have to think on that one some. I know if I tell DH he will just HAVE to go. I'm thinking we need to recover from our Year of Vacation next year.

I need a bigger van..... Still have more to pack for our camping trip and it doesn't look good and that is with 1/2 the backseat out. Gotta get it to fit.

Nancy...tomorrow night I bake for the trip, wish you were close...all this packing is making me hungry.;)

Off to see what I am forgetting.

Lil - You and Ted NEED to go on the Member Cruise 2005. It's at a horrible time of year for us. Labor Day weekend. Ack. We are usually up to our eyeballs in preparation for Yankee Peddler at that time of year, not to mention that James and Sarah will be back in high school by then. And it will be James' Senior Year. Eeek. No money (or points) for a member cruise for us.

So if you go, we can see all the neato gifts that you get and live vicariously through your experience.

On a totally unrelated subject, Sue and I just finished ordering photos of homecoming at Shutterfly. I wish that I would have purchased Shutterfly stock before I found that place. I just used up my third batch of 450 prepaid prints. So I went ahead and pre-ordered another 450. At least they are running a special and not charging postage this week. That alone saved me $16.49.

All the leftovers in the fridge are gone. I am looking forward to eating a "new" meal tomorrow.

Less than 2 months to YaYaCon at WDW. :bounce:

Lily, the new look is growing on me... now that they have changed it so that visited links are a different color, I couldn't care less :p

Amanda, good luck with the packing!!! I agree... Nancy needs to move closer to us... her food always sounds yummy :teeth:

John, you might find this strange, but I have never printed off any of my digital pictures I have taken  How is shutterfly's quality and service (and all that)?

Ugh, I'm tired... I meant to catch a nap after Luis got home, but life got in the way. Going to bed way early tonight though :teeth:

TC, you are NO help!

DH just got home...boys night out thing. I must go talk with him.

Shutterfly, I've had some friends who post through that service. Better than image station?

Amanda, good luck trying to figure how to pack all the things that are needed. That is always difficult. I can never imagine how those backpackers can do it all in their packs for the week!

Did you stick it in ink? Or maybe paint? Or maybe you are really an alien, and you are slowly turning blue, starting with your thumb.

Kimmie's an alien. Kimmie's an alien. Hahahahahaha.

Karen

sleepy people should not try to figure out "code" :p

Lily, I am with John... go... have fun, and do tell us all the details :teeth:

Good night y'all... can't stay awake any longer

LOL, wouldn't have to worry about this thread falling to page 2 or 3 if some of those missing Dissers were still around! There were some VERY chatty SAHMs in that crowd and with the page limit on threads at the time, we Ya Yas were moving every couple of weeks,

Bless those SAHM's for keeping the thread lively and going!!!!:D

K, *now* I promise I am going to bed ;)

But had to say hi to you Marilyn :) Times were definitely different way back then... things change... not good or bad, but just different.

And that, my friends is silly ramblings of a tired girl. Luis is ready for bed and I am so close to it. Next time I won't shut down my laptop properly... I'll let it go and sleep w/o worrying.

Evening, yayas!

What a busy day! I volunteered at Kevin's school library, went for lunch with DH, had teacher conference for Neil, went to Costco and Babies R Us to prep for this weekend's baby shower, got Kevin a haircut, had dinner, went to Krispy Krack....

Good news! My mom found a house to buy. We don't have to worry about her in a mobile-now we won't get another hurricane in Florida as long as she lives, lol! It's about two miles from where she lives now. I love the internet, I was able to go to realtor.com and see the listing, then go and get her rates and amortization schedules (I am my mother's daughter-she figured simple interest and I figured compound, lol). She finally admitted that she misses having a yard to putter in. Ironically enough, I think she'll be moved into the new house before mine is even done being built!

Tomorrow is house cleaning day-and my new washer and dryer are being delivered really early.

So, on to the ketchup...

Blue thumb beats black and blue thumb!

Ouchies on the shots. I don't care, but sorry that you hurt Lainey. Right behind you-I'm in a risk category to get the flu shot, since I am now an aspirin therapy patient.

John, bank those points so you can do a member cruise NEXT year. You'll be glad you did!

Amanda, get an excargo shaped like a a motorcycle sidecar. Put Todd in it on the roof and then voila, you've got more room for camping gear! Have fun camping!

Sherry, so what exactly is a quesadilla maker (she who owns many gadgets asks)? I've always made them on the griddle.

JRKaren, your confusion tactics won't work...I KNOW YOU DIDN'T DO THE NAKED RITUAL DANCE. Do what I did...I found a night that no one was on and did it around 2 am! Had to do that after Liz's amazing performance!

Let me run the shower menu by y'all to see if you think I've got enough. Expect about 20 people, and I'm making:
Meatballs and sauce for subs
Baked Ziti
Chicken shish kebabs
grilled asparagus and corn
garden salad/potato salad
cold cut tray
garlic bread

I ordered the cake-I've never done a shower, but lots of gatherings, so I'm not doing the shower game thing. Just thought everyone would enjoy hanging out without all the typical hokey stuff! I even remembered to get the non cheese bread crumbs so that the meatballs will be kosher for the people who observe.

Anywho, gotta go, krispy krack is calling me....

Suzanne

Good evening again.

As you may remember, I took on the thankless and low paying job as correspondent for Liz a few weeks ago. I know that many of you have noticed Liz's absense from the thread of late, so your fearless yaya reporter did some investigating, and found out what Liz is doing.

On September 25, Liz held a press conference in the parking lot of a Hooters resturant somewhere in the middle of the country to announce her decision to run for President of the United States. So needless to say, Liz has been on the campaign trail the past couple of weeks, and her time to spend with the Yayas has been drastically decreased as she focuses on getting her name out there under her campaign slogan: No Child Goes Hungry When They Have Chocolate Cake.

Amongst the stops Liz has made on the campaign trail was a cornfield in Iowa. She spoke for three hours while she shucked corn to her very captive audience, only to realize she was speaking to a half dozen scarecrows when she was done.

She then headed over to the worlds biggest ball of yarn, where she knitted the worlds biggest blanket so that she could lay it out so the children would have a place to sit while they ate their chocolate cake.

Liz has also promised that she will have room in her cabinet for all yayas when she is elected president. I, of course, will be her press secretary, but will also be responsible for making sure that bars named after pastries remain fun places to spend a night.

She got a little confused when she came up with Towncrier's position, and she promised that she would be named Ambassador to the Crying Towns of Canada. I have no idea what that means.

Kimmie is going to be the Queen of all things Viggolicious and Apolotastic.

Bethie is going to be in charge of making sure that Liz remembers to get dressed before she goes out each morning because we don't want Liz running out of the white house nekkid (no matter how much she loves running around nekkid).

Elaine is going to be responsible for organizing the newest holiday in the country--Yaya Unification Day. She will lead the country in a national Nekkid Ritual Dance.

Deena will be conducting a census to see just how many great boys there are in this country.

AlabamaAlan will be in charge of homeland security. He'll stand on a beach with a slingshot to shoot rolos at the terrorists.

Everyone will have a job in Liz's cabinet! Have no fear! You will have a great job doing something you love!

So, when you go to the polls next month, vote for Liz. A Vote for Liz is a Vote for Chocolate Cake.

JellyrollsKaren

Wow...
How can anyone possibly ketchup?
Had lunch with Amanda today, it was nice.
Keep trying to tell her to take the full back seat out but she wants to add more people to the van and I tried to tell her we need the entire back seat gone....
Hate to see how much room we'd need if we were gone a week...:earseek:

Food sounds great, Suzanne.

JRKaren....we all remember that you haven't done the dance :teeth:

Yep...take the back seat out, Todd. Lots of room. Or get a cargo carrier for top.

Night :wave2:

Morning all! Stupid right arm still hurts... I am thinking that since the shot hurt so much, I tensed my arm up and that's why the muscle is still hurting. I'm going to go look and see if it is a normal cause for concern though.

Today Luis has managed to put up with me for four years ;) So if you see him on the DIS, thank him for me :p Sort of busy night for us tonight, so we aren't doing anything special (that I am aware of).

Suzanne, that food sounds wonderful!!!! What time do you expect us to be there ;)

Todd, I agree, take out the back seat... why does Amanda want more people back there... you not telling us something? :p

Since Nancy and Suzanne both reminded JRKaren, and now Liz has put me in charge... maybe I should make JRKaren do the dance... tonight :teeth:
