:sunny: Morning! Hoping and wishing and praying for a warm and sunny day for all the YaYas!! :sunny:

JRKaren - does Jellybear like jelly donuts???? I see he likes cupcakes.....

Beth - holy smokes! Foul play - in your building! Wow - and that seems like a long time for the police to be there, conducting the investigation!

Elaine - I don't care if Luis says no or not - I am sooooo going on that Cruise with you. Tell him that I am bringing the Barney swimsuit and that he will just have to deal with it! puckerup:

Lily - you are the Exercise Queen! :cheer2: And one and two and stretch and bend! Can you feel the burn???

Ohhhhh.... a son that cleans the house and also the fish tank - he's a keeper! :)

I keep getting distracted here while at work and trying to reply... grr.... hate that.

Bethie, sadly the first thing I think of when I hear a person being murdered along those ages in their own home is drug related. At least that's what I hear of most around here. Very sad, and I hope you weren't too disturbed by it all last night.

Lily, working out is usually a good thing to do... I wihs I could get myself motivated to do that :p The eating thing while it is so cold isn't very good for me either ;)

Stacy, glad you got your son to work for you!

Okay I keep getting interrupted, so I am going to quit and move on... glad to see that Karen had to save us from page 3... I hope that meant y'all were sleeping ::yes::

catch ya later!

Morning all.

Caroline...Happy belated b-day!

JRKaren...what a cute BAB.

Thought about staying home today, but thought work might keep my mind from thinking about my Mom all day.
Spent last night cleaning our kitchen/laundry/pantry/bathroom. Todd's Mom comes Friday to stay for 2 nights. She sees my house all the time, just doesn't stay long enough to see the dirt I hide;) Once Todd takes all the boxes away today for donation we will be ready for her visit. Now I need to visit the cemetary and my Dad tonight. Tomorrow Mandy has girl scouts and Thursday I have a retirement dinner to go to. Maybe I should have taken today off:rolleyes:

Beth...although we never had anyone murdered next to our house, it was very common to have police running through our yard when I was growing up. Our windows were nailed shut...good thing the house didn't catch fire.

RM...take care of yourself and get better.

Sherry...we just quit DSL. Todd and I aren't on enough at home to worry about it.

Lily...great job getting back to exercising. I may be eating better soon...since I finished the huge world's finest chocolate almond bar I received from work. On piece of the bar have 9 grams of fat in it, it was thick...hurt your mouth to bite into it, but it was good.

Elaine...if Pam gets to go, I'm going;)

Karen...glad to hear your son's report is finished.

Better get to work:rolleyes:

K... I just saw this.... tells ya how long I was working on stupid post ;)

Pammy, you give us a call and work it out with Luis... but you think you could fit in one of our suitcases to sneak you on?

back to work stuff... need to talk with someone who is complaining about something "new" when we've always been told we had to do it a certain way!

EOIPing again. DW Sue will be back home today at noon. She's been in Newark (Ohio) with her aunt helping to ease Uncle Ed's transition from this world. He passed last night at around 7PM. He had been diagnosed with fourth stage melanona last fall. His body was just full of cancer. His doctor gave him only a couple of months to live. Ed fooled them all (including the hospice workers who told Irene and the family that, from all external signs, Ed should have passed last Friday). He was a tough guy who not only saw one last Thanksgiving and Christmas, but who also lived to celebrate both his and Irene's birthdays one more time.

Ed Russell lost his first wife to cancer many, many years ago. He met my wife's Aunt Irene and eventually married her. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in the past year. Ed and Irene used to drive up to our house on Sundays to watch NASCAR races and to enjoy Sue's good home cooking. Even though Ed wasn't a blood relative to any of us, we loved him dearly. I will miss his firm handshake, his smile, and his temper. He was a hard man to love, but once he was on your team, you were unstoppable.

Sue was with Ed when he took his last breath. Ed's daughter Brenda was also in the room. Although we've had months to prepare for the events of last night, I don't think that any of this will hit home for a few days. Sue is going with Irene to make the final funeral arrangements this morning. Then she will come home and start work on Ed's funeral flowers. He specifically asked that she do all the flowers for his calling hours and memorial service. I told Sue that she and her mom who have been by Uncle Ed's bedside for the past week were truly his angels here on Earth. I'm glad to have my angel back home, but that gladness is tempered with the sadness of Ed's passing. I know that he is no longer bedridden and in pain. That he is truly in a better place.

God Bless and Godspeed Uncle Ed

John, hugs, thoughts, and prayers to you, Sue, your kids, and Sue's family. God bless Uncle Ed.

Pam, I don't think that Jellybear likes Jelly Donuts. He likes Jellyrolls--the bar, not the pastry--just like me.

Amanda, glad you're a master at hiding the dirt. Isn't it great when people don't realize how dirty your house is? Everyone's house is dirty 99% of the time--we only clean for visitors. Geez.

Tara, my actual birthday is January 27th (Thursday). Please note that this is NOT Kimmie's birthday. She is not allowed to share my birthday.

To all of you who have been thinking I should give Bethie a break in regards to the snow, I have one question for you. Do you know what 30 inches of snow is like to shovel (I know Liz does, but do the rest of you?). You should see the mountains of snow I had to climb to get to the office today. I felt like Maria from the Sound of Music! And it's not even pretty and white anymore--it's all brown and gross from the salt and sand, and tire dirt. Yuck.

And we're getting several more inches tomorrow (God help me).

Thanks a lot, Bethie. It's going to take a lot more than a bear and a Mickey bar to make me forget this one!

Noone can hold a grudge like JellyrollsKaren. Just ask my step grandmoster who slammed a car door on my leg, and then wouldn't let me pick out the ice cream I wanted like she promised I could when I was six.

Karen

TC- :( What a lovely tribute to Uncle Ed. Big :grouphug: Lots of PD and many prayers to all who will be missing him.

Thanks to all for the well wishes. Can't believe I am feeling worse today, even with the medicine. Waaaaa, I'm a whiny patient today! I do not like being sick  .

Tara-forgot to say I love the most recent pic of those cutie pies!

Amanda- (RM dons face mask to not spread germs)

Psst Pam- I say heck with Luis, I'll grab my Spongebob towel and meet ya' at the boat!

Bethie- you be very, very careful coming & going, K? I know I have gotten to feelin' very comfortable here and kinda let my guard down sometimes. But, that kind of story is a reminder to be ever so vigilant and take nothing for granted. AND of course, I'll always have your back g'friend! ;)

Nancy- Is it cookie day yet? I think I would surely feel lots better with some nice warm right from the oven home baked cookies. I'm not picky either, any kind will do. :teeth:

 to all I didn't name personally. Especially all you newbies who I can not remember 'cause of this fog in my head.

:grouphug: minus kisses to avoid spreading this nasty germ :rose:

Hi JRKaren (:scared:) Hope you have a wonderful day!

Went to Dr yesterday....apparently, I've got an upper-respiratory infection AND bronchitis..oh, lovely! :guilty: So now I'm on Cipro and I also have meds for the cough so I can sleep at night [in PILL form!]....I HATE being sick! :sad2:

Good morning YallYalls...

John, I am sorry to hear about Uncle Ed; that was a very nice tribute.

For those running from the snow, y'all can come down here and sit for a spell with me. :)

And finally, folks are excited about Haverty's??? Around here, that's a furniture store chain.

Having tons of issues on IE today... so if I am not around, y'all know why.

John, I am so very sorry for the loss of Uncle Ed. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Sue, the kids and all your family :grouphug:

Amanda, you sneated... but I have a question... if you and Pam come, where are y'all going to sleep? :teeth:
Good luck getting everything done that you need to!

JRKaren, actually I have a pretty good idea of what it is like to shovel a lot of snow. We had about 2 feet last year, and it sucked to have to go out every few hours to get it cleared enough so you wouldn't kill yourself. I hope yours was lighter than what we had. Oh and see... that's why I haven't told you to go easy on Bethie :p (sorry Beth)

Rose Mary, I wish I could come visit and help take care of you. Okay, yes the warm weather had something to do wtih that ;) but still... I hope you feel better soon!

Kimmar, you too! Get well soon!

With Doc and Captain Steubing????? :rotfl:
Hey - we don't take up *THAT* much room, do we, Amanda???

TC - sorry about Uncle Ed - but it sounds as though he had a great 25 years with your Aunt.

Kimmar, Rose Mary, and Elaine - germies be gone! I banish you to the dark side! :wizard:

JRKaren - Can I have Jellybear's share of the jelly donuts then??? If I were you, I'd just walk on top of the snow, instead of shoveling it!! ;)

KIMMAR, You too! Wanna call me and we can compare our ailments? That would be, if you can TALK! Every other word out of my mouth is a "fill in the blank"! :teeth:

Awwww Elaine, that is so sweet that you would be willing to come visit. Even tho' it is an offer with an "ulterior" motive, I do so appreciate it.
AND who needs somewhere to SLEEP on a cruise? Aren't ya' suppose to party all the time, party all the time......................Sleeping is for when you get home.

Pam- That spell you cast is not working yet, can you please try again.

Anybody wanna come play scrabble or something? :rolleyes1 I can offer ya'
a nice hot toddy :D

Rose Mary,
I just remembered that I forgot to pay my wizard's dues...... :wizard:

Sorry!

Psssttt... Pam, I'm not sick here (at least not that way)... and I wasn't implying you take up that much room... just that well... oh never mind :o

Rose Mary, I'm on my way down then! Glad to help out! Oh and sleep? Actually this is going to be a way to relax for us... so yep, we plan to sleep. At least sometime.

I suppose we could have sleeping shifts here too... I call night times with Luis :teeth:

Elaine....aren't there loungers by the pool;)

TC...great that Sue could help her Aunt during this time. Sorry to hear about Uncle Ed.

JRKaren...Todd and I try to have company atleast every other month just so we will clean our house;)

As a child of the 80's how can I not think of Eddie Murphy's foray into music?

Not that your signature didn't already have me in an 80's music frame of mind.

The 5th Lainey?? Hmm..I seem to recall having something scheduled for that day.. :scratchin"

I thought you had a headache???

Hey - there should be a little bunk thingie that pulls down from the ceiling - Amanda can have that and I'll take the pull-out couch bed. And we'll both wear ear plugs and those eye masks things. You'll never know we're there - or - you could give us bingo money for a couple of hours each night! ;) And $$$$ for those non-alcoholic drinks with the little umbrellas in them! :drinking:
