Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

I was doing the same thing with the same two pounds. I think this week I'm going to be successful. I just had to crack the whip and not let things like eating out and cheer competitions get in my way. It felt good to end the week eating out twice and one competition being totally OP - YEAH ME!!
Yeah you! I have swim meets and not cheer competitions, but I suspect the same things applies. Warm-ups are between 6:00 and 7:30 am and then you hang around for hours waiting for a few minutes of your child's glory. Meanwhile, they always have a lovely assortment of junk to eat and even if you can resist the concessions you're hungry by the time the session is over and you drive home past dozens of fast food joints.

I do calories using Sparkpeople and the Eat Clean Diet. The eat clean diet isn't for everyone though, its all fresh healthy foods and pretty much no processed foods. Its very hard to do because you pretty much have to learn how to not eat any packaged foods and eating out is really hard, lol.
I usually cook from scratch, but I eat more fresh healthy foods in the summer. I've heard a lot about Sparkpeople so I'll check it out :).

For the people who are successful, are you using a specific plan?

I haven't been following it exactly but I do look at the plan that the have on Spark People -- it is a good reminder that if you pick "good" things to eat that you can actually have a lot more food than you might think. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

Monday QOTD- What is your favorite season? What time of year do you find it easier to be healthier?

My favorite season is summer. I love being outside and our long summer nights. I find it easier to be healthier any time of year except January and February when the days are so short, it is cold and snowy, usually, and it just seems like all you want to do is curl up and hibernate.

QotD: What is your favorite season? What time of year do you find it easier to be healthier?
...I love fall the best. I love the brisk fall evenings, and watching the leaves change. I find it easier to be healthier in spring and fall. In spring, which hopefully will be here soon, it's so nice when the days are longer ... Fall I'm more active than summer because it's cooling down after the heat of summer. Eating wise, I think all the fresh fruits and vegies of late summer and early fall are so good, it's easier to eat healthier.
Ditto for me.

My stomach continues to feel like crap. I have food allergy testing on the 17th and we'll see where that takes us. I ahve not been exercising like I should because my stomach feels like crap and I'm afraid that might negatively impact my weigh in.

Hello everyone. I'm slinking back to the thread after taking two weeks off. I keep on losing and gaining back the SAME LOUSY TWO POUNDS and it is making my crazy. I did send this week's weight but it was late. It was UP anyway *sigh*.

So ... I need my butt kicked a bit. For the people who are successful, are you using a specific plan?

Is there an obvious difference between the weeks you gain and the weeks you lose the 2lbs? I haven't followed a plan other than minimizing the pop, chocolate and fast food. Good luck getting re-focussed!

Between now and then, can you try eliminating a bunch of food and eating a very boring diet? For most people rice, plain chicken and veggies are safe foods. I know a lady that had to do that for a while and then she started introducing foods back in.

I like spring summer and fall. Spring and fall the weather is nice. Spring could be a problem for me since by the time I get home a sea brezze makes it a lot cooler here.IN summer I like to work out early in the morning when it is still cool.

We have almost 10 inches of snow here. I teach in a school district that is spread out almost 50 sq miles. I don't know if we will have school tomorrow. With all this snow they have a hard time cleaning the streets out there. It has been a great morning. I did wake up early but I did doze off back to sleep. We haven't shoveled yet. Dh just got his truck and went out to get a newspaper.

HAve a great day everyone.
sounds like a nice relaxing snow day. Mine was a little crazy. I was going into work earlier than usual, and didn't leave myself enough time. I brought my son to my mom's and she was sick, so I brought him to my brothers, kind of hectic, and I'm glad the sun is shining today. Maybe this will melt fast.
I'm behind in answering QOTD, so I'll just jump back in with todays.

Monday QOTD- What is your favorite season? What time of year do you find it easier to be healthier?

I like spring. After all the winter, the first part of spring is when the whole family is eager to get doing things outside. And once the snow goes away, there's the first raking of the yard, and cleaning things up which is great exercise and so satisfying.:goodvibes
I like your attitude about yard work. I wish i liked it more. I lived in a condo my whole adult life til 5 years ago, and moved to a house when my son was 2, and it's awesome to have our own space, but I would love to have someone do all the yard work for me.

hello everyone! i have returned from a weekend at an indoor waterpark with DD's youthgroup. today i'm printing out my workout 'training' program for the next 1/2 marathon i registered for. my weight was up just a little Friday

for the month of march DH and I have made a pact to lose so our jeans fit again :) it's about 10 lbs for me

QOTD -- i love fall with the crisp air and leaves changing. however Ohio seems to skip over fall anymore. I would say losing weight is easiest for me in the Spring as i'm gung-ho to get out and work in the yard and such. Summer is usually hard for me with vacations, visit with familiy, and general running around with my DDs
I definitely need to get some of that gung-ho as far as yard work. That's great you and your husband are working together this month. That must make it easier to stick with the healthy eating.
Hello everyone! Just got caught up with the thread (again!), realized I missed Friday's weigh-in (again)...but am now back from FL trips for a while - my dad's stomach has been removed and hopefully they got his cancer, my mom should be out of the rehab place in a week or two (knee replacement)...now to get some control back in my life. Seriously, I think I'm going to buy some frozen WW or something for a week, has anyone done that? DH wants to do it. I can't exercise much due to a stress fracture on my foot, but I think I can do our bowflex and maybe row...trying to get a little creative...
Welcome home. Glad your folks are doing ok, and hope they continue on the up swing.
I like the weight watchers meals, and as someone else said if you add some fresh or even frozen veggies, it's more filling. I like the santafe rice and beans, and will throw that over a bowl of fresh spinach, or add some extra canned beans and salsa. Hope your foot heals quickly. It's tough when you can't get your exercise in.

No slinking allowed. I'm also losing and gaining the same pounds, and it's frustrating, but I know why. I use weight watchers, and when I am faithful and keep track, I lose. I like it because it controls how much I can have each day, and you can always have as many veggies as you want. It also encourages the healthier, more filling foods too. I need the control. Good luck.

Tuesday QOTD- How long have you struggled with your weight?

I was chunky as a child- I think I wore Sears- pretty plus girls clothes, and in high school thinned down, and stayed thin into my early-mid 20s, and since then I've yo-yo-ed up and down. I first did ww at age 25, started at 181 and went down to 145, and have been up and down, back and forth with ww, always starting 10-20 pounds heavier than the previous time. I've kept 20 pounds off for the past couple years, and that's huge for me. When I went back to ww, about 3 years ago, I said I would never gain the weight back again.

Tuesday QOTD- How long have you struggled with your weight?
I to was a sears plus child or size "E" as the called it. I thinned out in late middle school and maintained through high school and first 3 years of college b/c i was active in sports. In my 4th year of college I rapidly started gaining weight and have been until about 4 months ago. Since i have started losing at snails pace, but I figure that is better than none:thumbsup2

I went to Wal-mart today after school (1/2 day) and was starved - bought a lot of frozen meals! But I didn't buy junk and didn't eat til I got home. I was pleasantly surprised to see I've maintained over the past 2 weeks!

Watched BL last night - WOW! I can't believe Bob's peeps - they are never going to be able to win a weigh-in!!

How long have a struggled w/my weight? Decades! I don't remember NOT.

Tuesday QOTD- How long have you struggled with your weight?

Since I was 26. After the birth of my first child I went from 128 to 160. It has been down hill since. I'm now 39 and 192lbs. I dream is to weight 140. I hope to reduce stress ( maybe my husband will move me away from my family) so I can start taking excercise more seriously.

Tuesday QOTD- How long have you struggled with your weight?

Pretty much as long as I can remember. I have had several thin periods in my life but the last one was many, many years ago. I just want my son to actually know the real me -- not the fat one he has known all his life. My DH and I have a pact that when we reach our goal weight that we will not let our weight fluctuate by more than five pounds ever again!

Tuesday QOTD: Since I started college 9 years ago I have been struggling with vanity pounds but was never officially overweight. Since leaving Disney Entertainment two years ago I am now firmly in the overweight category.

So, I gained this week (I think it was 1.8). I think I know why: a combination of my period and constipation related to my myriad of stomach problems. I picked up a new three month journal and am getting back on track tomorrow.

:rolleyes1 Unfortunately, I only like yard work at the beginning of spring. Its nice to get things cleaned up from winter and to see all the snow gone, after that its not nearly as satisfying.

Tuesday QOTD- How long have you struggled with your weight?

I started gaining slowly in college, and then after having kids, the weight just stuck around. I'd lose a bunch right after having a baby, and then within a year I weighed as much as I did at 9 months pregnant. Same thing happened with both of my pregnancies. I'd like to keep chipping away and get back down to my wedding weight.

Hello Everyone!

I haven't posted for about 3 weeks now, but I'm still hanging in there and keeping up w/ my weekly weigh-in's. I've been VERY busy with work and have only been on about once a week to read through all of the posts here. You guys are still my inspiration!

I'm doing fairly well - just got over a 2-1/2 week plateau and finally broke through it. My WI this week went well - I finally hit my 10% since I started back in December. And I'm 33% of the way to my goal before my next WDW trip in August (my goal is to lose 68 pounds by August) - (MelanieC - we'll be at Pop at the same time! )

Tuesday QOTD- How long have you struggled with your weight? For me, it all started when I got pregnant - I still haven't lost the 60 pounds I gained back then (my DS will be 20 in a few weeks) and in addition to that 60 pounds, I gained an additional 37 in the last 10 years or so. So, I definitely have a long way to go, but am making progress.

The best of luck to everyone! Stay strong! :grouphug:

QotD: How long have you struggled with your weight?
I was always quite thin when I was younger. We always ate everything in sight. Mother always would say wait until you are 40 things will change. Mama was right. It was not exactly 40, but in my 40s things started for me. I woke up and found that I had to learn how to eat properly. Totally a new experience and one I cannot quite comprehend yet. I am learning...

I think snails pace is the way to go to make it permanent. Only took me 20 years to figure that out.

Kudos on maintaining, and not buying junk food. If it's not there, you can't eat it.

:rotfl: If you move away from the stress of your family, you'll miss them!;) Families are great, but they can add stress.

It's great you and you dh are doing this together. It will make it easier to maintain, and a 5 pound fluctuation it manageable, especially if you have each other to answer to.

Don't worry about that gain. You've had such a tough time. Hang in there.

It is shocking how much harder it is to lose weight now, in my 40s, than when I was in my 20s. Gotta believe that slow and steady is the way to go. Can't wait for menopause to hit.

Wednesday QOTD- What is your favorite, quick and easy meal when you are in a rush?
I like to buy a bag of lettuce and the perdue shortcuts grilled chicken and make a salad. The other is egg beaters microwaved with salsa and cheese on toast or english muffin.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I can't remember.

Hey everyone, sorry I've been MIA, remember my DD being sick??? Yeah, well I got it! I haven't been that sick in a long time. I am feeling much better, just wanted to quick pop in and say hi, and I'll catch up on all the posts today or tomorrow.

Before the weekly superstar list come the disclaimers.

**I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference the magic percentage of weight lost formula is (weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week) times 100.

**If you miss a week and return with a loss your percentage is adjusted to reflect missing one week.

**If you gain and then post a loss your percentage is adjusted. If your loss is less than last week's gain then you are not named a superstar because you are still working to lose the gain. This one really applied this week. #20 would have been one of these folks but I got a headache and couldn't figure out who to name #20.

Now to the exciting part. Were you a superstar this week??? With so many folks leaving and so few losers each week if you do lose your chances of being a superstar increases each week. Look how low our percentages are dipping each week. Every loss counts and can make you a superstar! So keep losing superstar!!

I did not hear from 28 of our losers this week, that's 35%. That really distresses me and I do not need any more stress in my life. I'm glad you are still here and sticking with us.

I will have trivia posted before I go to bed tonight. I am finishing up the tough lists - perfect attendance and slow and steady turtles. They are a little harder to compile. My lists of numbers are ready to go. Categories of weight brackets, weight lost brackets, and highest percentages of weight lost. Stay tuned losers and even if you are never listed you are to be congratulated for sticking with this challenge. Remember this is not a race to the finish, this is a lifestyle change.
