Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Does anyone know if there was something to add to the C.O.W. this week?

TIA

Question of the Day

What book are you currently reading? Or what book have you read recently? What is your favorite book?
\

Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks...don't have a favorite really, I just love reading.

I'm currently reading Definately Dead by Charlain Harris (The Sookie Sookhouse Southern Vampire Series). This is the book that the HBO series True Blood is based on.

My favorite books are Twilight -

And the best invention ever is the Kindle. It has increased my reading ten-fold and having all my books to bring on vacation in one little case is wonderful.

I have been looking at those Kindles and would LOVE to have one...maybe I need to start planting some hints;) .

Hear Ye Hear Ye, the Weightkeeper speaks

So much work to do, so little time. It is great to be home after a stressful week away. I now know what Dorothy meant when she said 'there's no place like home.' I would probably feel different if I had been at WDW for the week but that trip will have to take place another time. I am still working on trivia and DH has announced that it is time to start working on numbers for the accountant for the corporate taxes. YUK!! Let's move on to more pleasant things - like week 7.

Here's what we got for week 7

beginning participants---98
removed----------------11
current participants-----87
excused-----------------1
not reporting 1 week----17
not reporting 2 weeks----8
weigh ins---------------61
gains---(28.7 lbs)-------17
maintains----------------7
losses----(58.1)--------37

Wish Biggest Loser 7 Week 7
week 6 cumulative net loss 672.2
less losses from those removed from challenge 68.2 pounds
weekly net loss 29.4 pounds
Cumulative net loss 633.4 pounds
week 6 average percentage of weight lost 0.25%

Before the weekly superstar list come the disclaimers.

**I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference the magic percentage of weight lost formula is (weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week) times 100.

**If you miss a week and return with a loss your percentage is adjusted to reflect missing one week.

**If you gain and then post a loss your percentage is adjusted. If your loss is less than last week's gain then you are not named a superstar because you are still working to lose the gain.

Now to the exciting part. Were you a superstar this week???

Hey superstar, yes I mean you. Even if your name is not listed above you are a superstar for sticking with this challenge. We are now headed down the the hill toward the end of this challenge. How are things going for you? Have you achieved 1/2 of your goal for the challenge? If you have GREAT, if not then why not? You know the answer, you know what to do to change your life. It's all about consistency. Working your program every day, yes every single day.

Life will sometimes throw temptations and challenges in your path. Like last night's BL. I couldn't believe all the complaining about the latest 'twist'. Well suck it up and get over it. Life has twists and stuff happens. To achieve our weight loss goals we need to find effective ways to deal with all the stresses of life. Food is not an effective way to deal with stress. What works for you? What keeps you OP (on program)?

Hang in there losers and keep working hard. Our numbers show there is much to celebrate and I can't wait to share it all with you. Stay tuned. I really will have something to share soon.

Congrats to all the Superstars this week!!!

Good morning everyone. Thanks disneychrista for being our coach last week. I'll be coach this week, and plan to definitely be on more than i have been lately. I'm up 1.2 this week, no surprise, again. I'm playing with the same 3-4 pounds. I feel like I've got maintaining down, but I this isn't where I want to be. I won't give up though.

Friday qotd- Do you have a final goal weight in mind, or are you working your way down, and as the weight comes off will you decide where you want to be?
I do not have a final goal in mind. I've made positive changes in my life, and definitely feel much better than when I was 30 pound heavier. I'm 197 now, and my current goal is to see 181. WW says I should be a high of 155, but honestly I don't think I will see that. I've been around 170 in the past and felt and looked good, so I hope to see that someday.

Good luck with weighins today. Lose, gain or maintain, we are all winners because we are still here and we won't give up.

Good Friday morning. I didn't even get a chance to weigh in this morning becasue this week has been crazy and I forgot it was Friday

I am sorry for being MIA but it is tech week at the local high school where I help with costumes for the musical. Last dress rehersal was last night in front of local senior citizens. It went well with some glitches but the cast is ready for opening night. I things to press tonight and then there is the usual things going on before opening night. I will tell you all about it tomorrow morning when a get a chance to relax.

Spring is coming. It has been warm down here but snow/sleet and YUCK is predicted for Sunday. My daffodils are popping up their heads. I didn't think I would see any bulbs since the new dog dug up so many last fall. It is also lighter by the time I get to work but all that will change when DST goes off next week.

Have a great day everyone.
I'm not happy we are supposed to get 5 inches of snow tomorrow night. I'm so ready for spring. I didn't realize daylight savings time was next week. It will be so nice to come home from work in the daylight again. Good luck with the show. Hope all goes smoothly.

Does anyone know if there was something to add to the C.O.W. this week?

TIA
I don't think so. Raenstoirm had been running it, and I think she's had a lot going on in her life lately.

Those kindles look pretty cool, and would be so worth it for someone who is an avid reader.

Thanks disneychrista for the great coaching this week and welcome mikamah.

QOTD - I'm trying hard to not focus on the final goal but instead looking to the smaller goals one at a time. I would love to get between 135-140 and be able to keep it there. I may have to change as time goes but we'll see.

Sorry I went MIA for a few days...one of my girlfriends needed to make a quick trip to the beach to pick out some new furniture before the rental season got going. So I accepted the tough job of having to ride down with her:thumbsup2 . We got the furniture picked out and then had a great time reading, watching Lifetime movies and I got some cross-stitching done. I didn't take my laptop so I was on a computer fasting diet for 2 1/2 days:scared1: and I survived. I did really well on eating while we were gone and drank lots of water too. Didn't do any exercising and really am having a tough time getting back into our routine of walking but I think once the weather opens up it will help.

I was down 1.5 lbs this morning and was so happy to get past that spell of going back and forth with the same .5 lb.

I hope everyone has a great day...lots on my to-do list so that means I really should get off the computer now. Take care, stay focused and have a great one!!!

You guys, I could just cry right now... Last night we went out to buy a car. We had the signed papers, pending this light thing they would fix in the car, and guess what? On the way home the transmission blew on our trade in. :scared:  :headache: :sad2: :sad1: I can't believe it. Now what?:confused3

It gets better... DD has been up since 1am violently throwing up, I've been cleaning up carpeting, the wall, and the bathroom all night long. She is miserable, I have to get her to the MD today, had to call into work and I am sure they are going to be mad, it is super busy today, but I really need to take care of DD. When it rains it pours....:sad1:

I maintained this week, I hope I don't stress eat.

SEND SOME HUGS PLEASE!

Thank you to disneychrista for a great job coaching, and welcome to mikamah. :goodvibes

Friday qotd- Do you have a final goal weight in mind, or are you working your way down, and as the weight comes off will you decide where you want to be?

I guess I have a range for a final weight goal. somewhere around 140. I have a long way to go before I get there, so in the mean time, my next goal is actually only 6# away. Just a number I remember being at 3 years ago. After that my goal is 17# away for another 25# loss to make it to 50 pounds lost!

 and :grouphug: to my friend Vija. Things will eventually improve and remember that overeating will not make anything feel better. In fact it will make it worse.

Hang in there girlfriend. At least you did not lose your trainer like they did on BL. We are all still here for you. I hope DD feels better soon.

Congrats to all of the losers this week.

I stayed the same.. I am surprised I didnt see a gain.

Had a make a speciall dessert for a girl scout event tonight and I had way to much of it. Its full of sugar and I am doing low carb.. grrr. So tonight is the event.. I made 12 pans of the stuff and have no desire to eat it again.

Thanks to disneychrista for being coach! And thanks in advance to mikamah!
Thanks to all previous coaches if I missed thanking you back then!:)

Friday qotd- Do you have a final goal weight in mind, or are you working your way down, and as the weight comes off will you decide where you want to be?

I do have a final goal weight in mind, but its not set in stone. I'd love to be 150 again, but I don't know if it'll happen. For now, I'm just aiming for mini-goals.

:grouphug: :grouphug: VIJA :grouphug: :grouphug:
I hope things get better soon.

Vija :flower3:  Hang in there, it will get better. Some days it does feel like it just doesn't end.

I lost 1.2 this week, putting me .2 lower than my lowest weight on this challenge. I hope this means I've ended the yo-yo streak and I can move on. It's very frustrating, but I only have myself to blame. 3 weeks to Disney, lets see what I can lose. If I could loose 6 pounds I'd be excited. I have to push to make that happen. I can do it - especially if I got off my butt and exercised.

Friday qotd- Do you have a final goal weight in mind, or are you working your way down, and as the weight comes off will you decide where you want to be?

I'd like to get down to 125. I've been to 131 as the top of my WW goal, and it was at the upper range of the healthy BMI - so I'm fairly confident 125 should be good.

"Life will sometimes throw temptations and challenges in your path. Like last night's BL. I couldn't believe all the complaining about the latest 'twist'. Well suck it up and get over it. Life has twists and stuff happens."

You know I was thinking the same thing. That is reality. And why was the show only an hour? That sucked. My computer was having trouble burning cd's this week so I went to defrag and I only had 2% free space on my C drive so I started messing with it taking stuff off, then my husband said to wait and let the computer guy he's recently found just do it (throw everything over to the second drive we put in that is 84% free)and it was hard for me but I'm going to just leave it to him...Arghhhh I don't need to be sitting there breaking my back dinking around with it although I really want to and have been the last few days. I thought of this board when making this decision--thanks guys.

I haven't weighed in for the week yet because I worked last night, so I'll weigh-in in the morning. I was way down earlier in the week, but I've eaten horribly the last 2 days, so now I'm scared to get on the scale!

QOTD: I'm just working toward mini goals for now so I don't become overwhelmed with a number that seems too far away. Once I reach my goal for this challenge, I plan to set a new goal of 5# for the following 8 weeks, and renew that goal when I reach that weight or the 8 weeks is up. I should be to 160 or less by Memorial Day, and I haven't been there in a couple years. I got down to 135 about 6 years ago, but that was way too hard to maintain. I'd really love to end up between 145-150. I did reward myself this week for breaking the 170 barrier by buying a new swim suit top at JC Penney. I'm very close to fitting into my capris from 2 summers ago, so I shouldn't need any new clothes for a while. I'm hoping it will be warm enough for capris soon!

Congrats LISA!

I have been HORRID this week. It's PMS, but.... that's not a good excuse!

:(

Did watch BL tonigh and was shocked at the person sent home... (No spoilers in case someone hasn't watched it)

Going to try to get back on track tomorrow. I did give up fried food for Letn, maybe that will help!

OK so I did miss something---there was only the first hour aired on our cable. Dang it--I'll check out the channel it's been repeating on and see if the rest I missed is on. My tv said to be continued.

The split it up because of the presidents speech the other night.

I've missed some QUOTD's. Just read The Reader, Favorite book of all time-Friday by Robert A. Heinlein.

Hardest thing about this weight loss venture--going to the pool. It's a lot of time, making sure the gym bag has everything, showering and dressing-it takes me forever to make sure the chlorine is out of my hair and even then- I can see the damage.(I rinse it, put conditioner in my hair and wear a cap to seemingly no avail) Easiest-doing the treadmill/stepper at home watching the View, especially since an animal cops show is on now that I can switch to on commercials.

My goal is 155. I can do it but right now my body is trying desperately to stop this awful weight loss thing. It just can't understand why I'd want to be colder and less cushioned..:-) My biggest goal right now actually is to simply maintain until my trip--that would be awesome.
Think I'm missing something else--oh-- congrats Lisa! I'll weigh in in a little bit--still wanting to drain a bit lol.
Oh- I know this probably isn't a big deal to many other people but (I'm a closet film junkie) the academy awards this week killed me-- mostly Sean Penn's win although I love Sean--I really wanted Mickey to win. I guess it was a little personal because I met him once a long time ago when I was in California (in a roundabout way) and he was very nice and tried to help me in a situation I was in- which was pretty bad-I didn't take the help but it was kind of him and the people he was with anyway. This was roughly one million years ago when he was in his boxing days. He did deserve the award though I think and I think Penn's win this year was political.

Hi everyone. I gained this week. I did not come to the boards, I did not eat very well and I didn't exercise, and the scales showed it. I have new motivation now - We just booked a Disney trip ... in 8 weeks! Oh my, I've got to get moving now. Sorry, I haven't been around, You motive me - I just wasn't in the mood. I'm back now - Lisa!

Friday QOTD - I would love between 135-140. I would be able to wear so many clothes in my closet. Hopefully in 8 weeks, I will go another size down. Thanks everyone - you are the best.

Ah crap--well I gained a pound this week--only by a few ounces but nonetheless. This is my first gain since this started so this is a huge red flag for me. I usually gain back weight very quickly..will be really watching it this week. I wish I knew exactly where I went wrong but I was eating well, exercising. I've been 'at the computer a lot lately- that's probably what did it and I won't have my cd burning pc up this week at all so I think I'll do better.
BTW my previous source of conflict keeps coming in to see me and is not helping...:confused3

OK so I did miss something---there was only the first hour aired on our cable. Dang it--I'll check out the channel it's been repeating on and see if the rest I missed is on. My tv said to be continued.
The second hour aired Wednesday night. I missed the first half of the first half (so 1/4 of it?) because they air it earlier than what had been said.

Well, i gained 3 pounds. I haven't watched my eating or exercised in basically 2 wks. I guess I should be glad it wasn't more. Oh well, that was then and this is now.

Today is a new day! I have done good today!

Am feeling renewed and motivated. I think I will organize pantry tonite so I can make room for grocery shopping and healthy foods. For some reason when my house is clean I can watch what I eat easier.
