Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

I had a yucky day today, (work related) and as soon as I got home, I knew I wanted to get on WISH to get a dose of "happy". Thanks to all of you for your good wishes and congrats. It cheered me up tonight.

I got the stats for the Biggest loser competition from DH's work. So far I am in the lead for pounds lost. Of course I don't know what the other girl's original weights were, so I don't know percentages, but I am the leader in numbers lost!!!!

Sorry about your yucky day at work. Having a bad day at work can just set us up for a bad day all around. You made the right choice coming here and getting "happy."

Congrats on being the leader on the BL at DH's work. That is AWESOME!!

Congratulations Susan. U really are an inspiration. 3wks as the Biggest Looser! Wow!!!

This week has been really cruddy for me. (Is cruddy even a real word?) Anyway, you get my point. I have been tired and in a bad mood for some reason. DD was sick with stomach bug Sunday night and Monday morning. I missed work and have spent the rest of the week playing catch up. I NEVER miss work, and it just really gripes me cause alot of others take advantage and miss alot and their responsibilities are shared with others so they are fine. Then when I miss I have a ton of stuff on my desk waiting on me that no one else has to worry about. STRESS much?

So basically I have ate, ate, and ate some more this week. I didn't weight this morning even though I know I probably should. But I feel like I gained several pounds, and I don't want to know the number.

I am excited and suprised to see that I made #19 last week, though. It is my inspiration to get my rear back in gear, yet again, and start again tomorrow. I need to go get groceries anyway tomorrow, so I will make sure to stay away from the junk and load up on the veggies and fruit that a I have not had this week.

I will not let this self pity and laziness continue. No one can do this for me, so I have to take control again before I let this go on too long and reverse all the good I have done in the past 5 wks.

Ok, another confession of sorts. Went to Walmart for a few things earlier this evening, and hubby and I ran into a girl that used to work with me a few months ago. She has always been the skinny athletic type. Well, after we left the store, hubby made the comment that he hadn't seen her in a while, and she had really lost weight.

REALLY? REALLY? Did he just say that?

Ok, so she probably has lost a little weight since he saw her. Actually she needs to gain a few pounds, she has gotten too thin if you ask me. (wouldn't that be a nice problem to have. Oh,my I am too thin, I better eat a couple more donuts!)

This is just an example of my bad mood this week. I didn't let him know how irritating that comment was, cause I wouldn't want him to get the big head thinking I was jealous or something, but when your wife has been busting her rear trying to loose weight you should NEVER comment on some other skinny gal loosing weight. Instead, I just told him I thought it was that her hair is dark now and it used to be blond, which is true.

I hope any men on this thread takes note, and never makes this mistake!

( I guess I should also say for the sake of honesty that my hubby has commented on my wt loss also, and has said he can really tell that i'm loosing, but DO NOT comment on other peoples wt loss!):rotfl:

:welcome: DisneyChrista as this week's hostess!
goldcupmom  for you and pixiedust: pixiedust: for DD!

Weigh to go everyone!! Even if your name is not on the list, you are still a star for sticking with it through the rough times as well as the easier! The easy route would be to NOT be here reading..but you are, so hang in there!! Tomorrow is a new day!!

Brenda, Thanks for all that you do and are doing.

:goodvibes Anne

Congrats to our BLs great job!

I reported another week with no change. I'm working it though so hope that it shows something next time. Good news is I am at least not gaining like I thought. Whew.

I lost 1.2 lbs this week. I've been eating really well but slacking off a lot on exercise. I'm still had my three training runs this week but otherwise just did a little exercise bike while watching hockey (go Sharks!!!!) I'm going to try to spend a good deal of time cleaning up the garage this weekend so I can set up my weight set again. I really need to incorporate some strength training.

I haven't been able to post much but have really enjoyed and been inspired by everyone's posts. I haven't been this motivated in years. Since starting this challenge, I'm down 12.8 lbs, only 2.2 from my BL goal. I still need to lose another 5.6 before treating myself to an entry in the 2010 WDW Marathon! I'm determined to do this before our May WDW trip and cruise. I'm sure I'll have quite a bit of damage control to do scale-wise when I get back!

Have a great weekend everyone!

-steve

quickly checking in. Didn't get a chance to WI or go to WW this morning. Headed back to ER with DD. Hopefully someone can do SOMETHING. She is getting steadily worse and in more pain.. I'll update when I can.

 Julie. That's so frustrating and scary. Best wishes to you both. Hopefully you'll get some answers today.

Congrats to Susan and all the losers last week! I wasn't sure I'd make that list- I KNOW I won't make the next one! Somehow I gained this week- no clue how... maybe because of a few days not drinking enough water. I retain fluids like no one's business. LOL So hopefully it will come back off again.......

Wishing everyone a great week!

WTG Losers..

Yikes.. My 4 pound lose this week didnt even get me into the top 20. I am afraid to see what my % was lol

The top 20 isn't from this weeks postings, but rather from last weeks WI's. Brenda was out of town and told us that the regularly posted Tues. list wouldn't come out 'till Friday. so no worries, I bet you will make the top 20 this week!

Well I got that great news to you as promised but there is bad news. I am still working on trivia and who knows when it will be completed. RL (Real Life) here guys. I am so sorry to disappoint you.

I am near Dayton, OH at my in-laws. I love them dearly but I am really out of my comfort zone here. So much family drama, the stress, my father-in-law's tantrums and the possible snowstorm on the way. I could go on and on but will not. I get on the computer when I can to work on BL stuff but I am the chief cook and bottle washer here. DMIL fell down some stairs and is convalescing. DH is working on numerous home improvement projects on their new home. They live down the street from their daughter, DSIL, perfect daughter, supermom to 5, store manager extraordinar. My fragile ego is having a hard time keeping up with everything and of course I am not exercising or working my program. I just wanna go home.

So there it is for now. I will try to have some trivia and 1/2 way numbers for you soon. I will try to have week 7 for you next Tuesday. I will really try but I do have some RL issues to deal with here.

Meanwhile you better keep up the fight. Work your plan. Do what you are supposed to be doing. Take care of yourself. Keep losing. I know you can do it.

Wow. I read the posts backwards and I kept wondering who this other Susan was lol-- I thought it was Vija. I know it's silly but I am so excited about this-- it will renew my efforts this week. All I can say is I really really wanted to see that movie last week lol. (I related to it quite a bit with my current situation--an old flame that's rising like the Phoenix lately) Have that all under control though...
Now my trip is getting so close I think that will be the motivation for me the next few weeks. I know I've said it a billion times but I really really appreciate the support here, sometimes I feel very alone here in my fight, the time spent at the pool, the husband who is not always appreciative of healthier meals (lol) the time spent on my physical therapy exercises at least my son will still take walks with me :)
I was behind on qotd--it's an easy one though, I used to have 2 bagels with either ff cream cheese or hummus for breakfast and now I just have one and am just as happy about it. I always make sure there is no high fructose corn syrup in them also.

Have fun skiing...DH took DS last week for the 1st true time and he loved it, hope it is as much fun as you remember.

After I found a wonderful computer place here in town, they determined it wasn't the mother board, was able to repair the machine, installed a new hard drive and had it back to me yesterday. I told them next time something went wrong, I was unplugging the thing and bringing it directly to them. I would never waste the time on the phone again like that, especially since I think they were in a nut shell, trying to get me to purchase a new computer when FIL didn't need it.

Yes, thank you for the reminder...I'm definitly not giving in to the thoughts, I will press through;) .

Thanks everyone, it has been a pleasure this week. I would have liked to have been on a little more during the day but it is the way life goes. I'm just thankful that I was able to get FIL back up and running, have to keep them happy:thumbsup2 .

Finding a great computer place is gold. I took a basic computer class years ago and the instructor recommended a place that I have used a few times and that I had my parents use and they are wonderful. In fact I had them install another hard drive and before that memory in this computer and it is still going strong and I think it is 7-8 years old (ancient) They also recommended I take off aol-- it was hard for me but after their message boards deteriorated I took the plunge.

I lost .8 this week. I've been kind of sick all week, so I haven't been able to exercise. I managed to catch whatever stomach bug is going around my school. Thankfully it seems to have disappeared.

This week has just been crazy stressful/busy. My car is in the shop because my brakes keep going out. They think they figured it out and replaced one of my hoses. While it was there it was hit by this older couple in their Mercedes so now I have to deal with their insurance. (The older couple is extremely nice and apologetic). Right now I have my dad's minivan and tomorrow I trade it for my car since at least the brakes are fixed.

I'm also doing the job search thing. I had a phone interview with a school in Nashville. I'm waiting to hear the results of that. My first choice is a school in Kansas City on the same system. The schools typically requier 2 years of teaching experience, but when I spoke to the principal this summer he said they will not require that this year. Well, two nights ago I received an email stating that they do require two years and noticed that I am going to be fresh out of college. I replied and mentioned our conversation this summer. He e-mailed me back this morning asking me which position I am interested in. (I'm hoping that's a good sign.) I told him, and then also explained my Master's program which is very different from most and provides a lot of experience. I'm crossing my fingers.

Hopefully this week will be not quite as stressful.

Happy Saturday!

I had a Girl Scout event today and found out one of my leaders is doing the Biggest Loser "local" version on the NBC affliate here in Atlanta. I just went to her webpage and saw the videos and she's a riot. I always liked her, but...

She had one quote where she said that she went to our meeting earlier this week and we let her strech on the floor during the meeting. She said something like "I had to strech or I wouldn't have been able to walk out of the building. If you saw my starting weight you know that they can't carry me out of the building" We could have!

I am going to be rooting for her and using her posts as part of my inspriation. Heck she has three kids, works two jobs, is on the PTA board and leads my best Girl Scout troop! Not like she has a lot of "free" time!

I did VERY good at the event. Did have two treats. (It was our Thinking Day event and the girls had treats from the countries they were discussing)

I got on the scale today and was down a pound from yesterday. I thought yesterday was a little "flaky" (I weigh for WW on Saturday) Hopefully I can keep it off for next week since I travel to California this week

Jessi, good luck on the job search. Like you I had the bad luck to finish in a rough economy and it does make the pressure worse. (And for those of you wondering Jimmy Carter was President when I got out of college the first time)

Susan Congrats on your continuing reign as Queen!:worship:

Vija Congrats on your big loss!

Well I am off to do the taxes.... At least I expect a refund which should reduce the need to "stress" eat:lmao:

Sorry to hear you caught the bug too:sick: , so many with it right now. Hopefully you'll hear something back from the principal real soon!!:goodvibes

I need to get to work on our taxes too but we always have to pay estimates, so I never send them in before the 15th.

I need to get to work on our taxes too but we always have to pay estimates, so I never send them in before the 15th.

My general rule is NOT to get a refund, but I managed to be unemployed part of this year.... And have a lump sum settlement from my prior employer.

I am now doing them for the SECOND time to figure out how much I have to start paying the state of GA each quarter. My new job has not got a good payroll shop and they claim that since the company office is in CA that's where all taxes have to be withheld and submitted. However, since I work and live in GA, the state here has SLIGHTLY different view!:lmao:

:dance3:  :cool1: Congratulations to all the superstars!! Whoo hoo!! Susan, #1!!! That is awesome!!!:dance3:  :cool1:

I'm back from skiing, and had so much fun. My son absolutely loved it, and I did get lots of exercise, especially using the rope tow. My shoulders and arms were so sore this morning. Eating was so-so. I did ok yesterday, but not so well today. I'm back, and my vacation is over for me now. I'm going to start journalling again in the morning, and absolutely stick with it now.
:cool1: :thumbsup2 Today I got my first compliment! I am so happy!:cool1: Someone at work was just passing me by and said "they could tell"!

I also get to change my clippie, I am going to go do that right now! I stepped on the scale today, and I was THRILLED!!!!! Since the beginning of my DH's biggest loser competition I have lost 12#, but overall, from my highest I have lost 30#!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

THat is a big accomplishment for me, as I have not been succesful at losing more that 25# on WISH in the past. I have only gotten there 1x before, and I fell off the wagon. and gained it all back and then some. I can't tell you how excited I am to FINALLY get to put the 30# clippie in my siggie! It's been years in the making.:cheer2: :yay: :dance3: :woohoo:

Can you tell I am happy?!!!!:yay:
 That is awesome, Vija!! That 30 pounds is gone forever this time!!

Hi Everyone, I will be your coach this coming week. I am a west coaster so I will try to post QOTD the night before or as early in the day as I can. I will try not to repeat anything but...

I will try to respond to as many posts as I can. If I miss your post I am not ignoring you, I just missed it somehow.

Friday's Question of the Day:

What is your favorite meal/food and how have you made it healthier, so it fits into your new way of eating?
Thanks and welcome Christa as coach for this week.
qotd- I love pizza, and buy frozen Palermo thin crust pizzas, which are pretty low fat and cal, and will throw veggies or grilled chicken on them. I also love chili and use 93%fat free beef, and 3 cans of beans, lots of tomatoes, peppers and onions. I find chili to be a great, filling food to keep me on track. I think I'll make chili tomorrow.
quickly checking in. Didn't get a chance to WI or go to WW this morning. Headed back to ER with DD. Hopefully someone can do SOMETHING. She is getting steadily worse and in more pain.. I'll update when I can.
 I hope they can help her soon. How awful for all of you. Good luck.

It has been I think 3 weeks since I weighed-in. And I am happy to report a gain of only 1 pound. Sorry Lisa for using the only work but I think it is appropriate in this case.
I think that is the only place that only will be accepted by Lisa. Glad it was a small gain for you, and this week, I hope you see it gone.

Ran into the wife of a guy that works with hubby. We have gone out with them a couple of times, and have had them to the house a few times. I guess it has been since the fall that I have seen her. She said "Have you lost weight?" I said, "a little" and she said "you are getting so skinny"

 :cool1: :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo: :dancer: party: :jumping1:

This is the first person that has noticed that had no idea that I had been trying! By the way, she was being generous as I am not quite skinny, but getting closer! Others have noticed, but they knew I had been watching what I eat, so that is kind of cheating in a way. She had no way of knowing. It feels so good. It also gives me that extra confidence and motivation to continue and press on, not to give up even though last week wasn't the best. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone - just checking in and trying to get back on track. I completely forgot about the weigh in and actually the challenge.:flower3: I am in Orlando helping my parents and am very very overwhelmed tonight. I have a stress fracture on my foot and can't exercise unless I find a bike somewhere. :sad2: My jeans today were really loose though! And the weather has been absolutely gorgeous - that helps.

Goldcupmom/Julie - I hope they have found out what's wrong with your dd!

Vij - congrats!! Last time I read you were bummed b/c of the mean nutritionist. :)
