Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Ok, now I am dissapointed and ashamed.:sad2: I had to send my food log to a dietician for the biggest loser competition for DH's work. She analyzed my numbers and they are way higher than I thought they would be. That is the dissapointing part. I thought I was lower. As it is, I am HUNGRY alot, I can't even imagine going lower. :scared: It almost scares me. But it does answer the question of why the scale hasn't budged.

THe ashamed part??? Well, I had gone out to eat one day, and she highlighted that part with exclamation marks with a few comments that truly make me ashamed and wanting to put my tail between my legs.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I suppose some might say "deal with it, and change it", and I will, but I guess it was the comments. I know they were meant to be helpful, but it came out hurtful instead.

:grouphug: :grouphug: I wish I were close enough to give you those hugs in person. I hope that you are feeling better this morning, I am so sorry that the dietician wasn't very helpful to you. I think everyone has given some great suggestions with the types of food to maybe try and making sure to get the water in. I know you can do this, you are such a strong person. Hold your head up high and try to make those changes and you'll have a better week!!:cheer2:

Vij, LuvBaloo, and Tammy - thanks for the suggestions, they all sound very do-able. I really want to keep focused. I'll have computer access and will be checking the thread. It'll be a crazy week since my mom is still in the hospital and my dad will be going into the VA in Tampa for his surgery - that's about a 1 1/2 hr drive. Fast food and no exercise will be easy to fall back into. My first plan is to hit the store on Tuesday and get lots of fruit and chicken and veggies and cook some stuff up. Then it'll be time to clean the house...:rolleyes1 (my mom's been gone for a month and my dad doesn't seem to "notice" things, kwim?)

Will be thinking about you this week, have safe travels. Don't forget to get your water in, I know when you are around the hospitals, it is tough to do but keep you a bottle that you can refill. Yep, know what you are saying about men not noticing things sometimes too.;)

So I think this is the first time I've been able to get on this week, and as I was reading I was very confused as to why ppl were giving their weights and DH said uhhh it is friday haha... I'm def running off on him!!!! lol

I'm down another pound this week. I'm happy with a pound a week, slow and steady wins the race!!!

Good going on your loss this week, you are doing great!!

I was supposed to go to Kansas City tomorrow to see my boyfriend Aaron. I live 2.5 hours away from him so we get to see each other once or twice a month if we are lucky. Unfortunately, I got a message tonight saying he is sick and is not even sure if he can go to his class. (Yes, his professor who's also the prinicpal at the school where he is student teaching scheduled class on Valentine's day and the Saturday of a three day weekend.) He is going to call me tomorrow to let me know if I should come down or not. Hopefully if not tomorrow he will be feeling better on Sunday. :( With the way our schedules are, I don't know when I will be able to see him again.

Sorry to hear he isn't feeling well, hopefully he's feeling better today. I hope that it works out if not today then tomorrow.

Hi!
I hope everyone is feeling okay- and if not, hope you get to feeling better soon! Seems like so many people are sick lately- it's really going around everywhere! :(

Down 2.6lbs this week- but over 2lbs of that in one day? Which is really odd for me but I'll take it because I was STARTING to get bummed the exact same weight every day. LOL I do think I lost inches during that time of maintaining weight though- things fit looser. I'll know for sure tomorrow night when I measure (measure weekly). I was beginning to think this week would be pure maintain and I'd eaten/drank so good this week! It just wanted to happen all in one day apparently. LOL

Hope everyone is doing great!

You had a great weight loss week:cool1: ...thanks for the reminder about measuring, I haven't done that in a long time.

Happy Valentines Day Losers!
It has been a rough week for me. DH had his hip replacement surgery Tuesday and I've not done anything movement-wise since. He came home today and all is going to be fine, so I should be back on track. At least I can report I didn't gain. I maintained. WiiFit says I lost .2, but the scale I've been using does not reflect that.

I'll have to read all that's gone on this week. Keep at it everyone!

So glad to hear that he is at home and doing good:yay: . Maintaining after the week you had is a good thing. Being out of the routine and around the hospitals is tough.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

QOTD Saturday - What is your favorite healthy snack right now? I'm always looking for something different to have but sometimes get stuck in a rut. So thought it would be fun to hear what others are enjoying.

My favorite right now has been raw almonds.

I was just wondering - since Carla Rae is sick, are we supposed to send results for the COW? I know we were supposed to keep on doing what we were doing, but not sure if we were officially counting it. I'm thinking that she isn't up to doing any of that. Hopefully she's feeling better by now.

I stayed the same this week and I'm okay with that. Have a good weekend everyone!
Nancy

Hi everyone! Sorry for being MIA for two weeks. Things have been crazy. I had a gain two weeks ago, stayed the same last week, and got back where I was to weeks ago plus .3 this week. Thank goodness for a decent move on the scale. To all of those that are sick, I hope each of you are feeling better very soon. For those dealing with the illness of a family member, my thoughts and prayers are with you also. Hang in there and keep your chin up.

Have a great week everyone!

Leanne

Thanks everyone for the good suggestions, and especially the hugs. But most of all what got me was the compliments of being a strong woman. I am in many areas of my life, and it makes me proud. Your comments really helped lift me up. Thank you so much my friends. :grouphug:

I am feeling a bit better this morning. I am not throwing in the towel. I got my 1 hour of exercise in already today and I am trying to eat healthier today, and smaller portions. Today will be hard as we are eating out for both lunch and dinner. ***sigh*** I'll do my best.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

I have bought the 100 calorie packs, and string cheese. The only problem I have is when I am really wanting a snack, the kids have beaten me too it and the box is empty.:headache:

Mmmm. Almonds. Mmmm.

Lately, I have been really enjoying a medium banana with 1/2 Tablespoon of natural peanut butter. Very satisfying and not overly processed.

Another favorite lately is instant hot chocolate. If I am wanting chocolate, it's a great, low points way of getting a higher volume, plus the comfort and joy of a warm mug. :coffee: A little squirt of that Fat Free Reddi Whip and it feels like a REAL treat! They have sugar free hot chocolate, but I avoid artificial sweeteners, so I just pay the points. :)

My all time fav is apple slices or banana in organic peanut butter!!! I also like string cheese. The colby jack no mozzerlla.

down just a little this week...not a whole pound but at least I was going in the right direction!!

Congrats to all those who are doing such a good job trying to get healthy!!

So Aaron is still sick :(. My parents went to Kansas for my cousin's son's birthday party. I didn'g to with them since I don't know when Aaron will call to tell me that he is feeling better. Hopefully I will be able to see him tomorrow. So my Valentine's Day is pretty shot. I might drive up to Columbia to go to their mall which is 10x better than ours (but at least we have one, unlike the town where I go to school) and maybe go eat at Macaroni Grill.

That really really stinks. I hope he feels better tonight and you can head over and salvage the weekend.

Some healthy chips from Costco with flax and fresh salsa. Sometimes with a glass of wine ;)

did anyone see that new BL book that comes out Tuesday? It's a 30-day jump start program and is supposed to be the same program the at-home 1/2 of the couples used.

Happy Valentine's day to everyone! I hope you had a wonderful day!!!

Aww Princess Vija- I'm so sorry. :( I'm glad you aren't throwing in the towel though!!!! :)

well this is hard for me to answer because it feels like maybe I'm the only one lowcarbing on this thread- and the snacks I like to eat are probably not things that others eat on their WOE (way of eating- it's an abbreviation we use a lot on another board I frequent since people are doing so many different weightloss plans LOL)
I like to snack on LOTS of things- if I want something sweet I make various different sugar free/lowcarb treats- my favorite though is what I call "chocolate drops"- they are frozen and taste like pudding pops! (made with SF pudding, cream cheese and heavy cream whipped). Other snacky type things that aren't sweet are what I call "wraps" such as pimento cheese rolled up in romaine leaf lettuce, or BLTs (mayo/bacon/tomato rolled up in romaine lettuce leaves)- things like that. :)

Hope everyone has a great upcoming week!

Low carbing here also.

My favorite snack is a hard boiled egg lol or some sf jello

I haven't heard anything about the COW's either but when we do we'll make sure to let everyone know. Glad to hear you sounding so positive too!!:)

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better now...gg on your workout too. Maybe you need to hide some of your snacks so you have them in a pinch.

WTG on your loss this week!!

Haven't seen that but it sounds interesting, will go check into it.

I'm sure you aren't the only one following that type of program, that's what is great about this board, it doesn't matter what method we are using we can still support each other. I think your snacks sound great!!

It has been fun hearing what others are enjoying.

My favorite right now has been raw almonds.
My favorite right now is kozy shack tapioca pudding. I also love fiberone bars, chocolate especially, and peanut butter on wasa crispbread, or low fat toast. I find if I have the peanut butter, the protein definitely holds me longer. 94%ff microwave popcorn- kettle corn is great too.

Thanks everyone for the good suggestions, and especially the hugs. But most of all what got me was the compliments of being a strong woman. I am in many areas of my life, and it makes me proud. Your comments really helped lift me up. Thank you so much my friends. :grouphug:

Hope things went well yesterday, and glad you are feeling better and positive. You can do this, and I hope that the dietician makes you feel better next week. Maybe she was trying to be tough and "jillian" like for the challenge, and just trying to help.

I did awful eating yesterday, but today is a new day, and I'm back to journalling all my food, and I am committing to write every bite down for the rest of this week. It's school vacation, and I'm only working 2 days this week, so I know it would be way too easy to continue on eating recklessly, and I can't do that. There is only 6 weeks left of this challenge, and I look at my goal that is posted in my bathroom every day, and I know I can do it.

Hope everyone had a nice valentines day, and if you were off program, like me, it's only one day, and today is a new day to get right back on. We can do this!! :cheer2:

QOTD-Sunday - What are 5 things that make you smile??
In absolutely NO particular order!!!
  1. A Mickey antenna ball while I am driving.
  2. Seeing my kids-for real or pictures-and that means my OWN kids, my nieces and nephews, and the ones I teach
  3. The sun at 4:30. After a winter where it's dark by the time I leave school, seeing the sun HIGH in the sky is just FABULOUS!
  4. Music that touches my soul and my emotions. Could be country, gospel, classical, Disney....
  5. Knowing that The Amazing Race starts tonight!

Well, I'm up a tiny bit this week, but it's pretty insignificant so I'm not concerned about it. I know I didn't exercise enough, and I indulged in a couple things I knew I shouldn't have. I just hate when I'm right at the brink of going below a certain point on the scale (I call it the next decade down), and it doesn't want to budge! This will be a better week though.

I exercised right away when I got up this morning. I have to go to my nephew's b-day party today, but we're having a turkey dinner, so there will be some healthy choices available.

Sat. QOTD: What is your favorite healthy snack right now?
Gala apple slices dipped in peanut butter. It keeps me full and I don't have to feel guilty about it.

Sun. QOTD: What are 5 things that make you smile?
1. A warm sunny day.
2. Being able to button my jeans without laying on my back on the bed!
3. Seeing my kids playing together and not fighting!
4. Seeing an old friend.
5. Almost anything Disney!
