How is that Jillian michaels game?? I got it for christmas and was wondering if it was easy to follow along. i heard mixed reviews but i am still looking forward to it :)

ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD The new Biggest Loser starts tonight!:banana:

I was sore the day after I used it, so it seemed like a decent workout. However, the graphics aren't so great. I would be "running" and my person would be walking or stopped:rotfl: I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but then I read some reviews on Circuit City that sad the same thing.

When is our weigh in days??? I did my initial weigh in, but I didn't report anything since. I haven't had a chance to read through the whole thread. I only get a few minutes in the morning before the boss comes in.

I've been doing great with the eating and exercise, but I'm horrible about about drinking water. I rarely drink plain water, but I've been trying to drink more sugar-free tea and Special K pink lemonade protein water. I did a little better drinking yesterday, and my weight was much better this morning, so that's encouraging. I will try to drink more today and hope for a good official weigh-in tomorrow.

I'm off to do my Wii fit now!

Tomorrow I get to start doing my single digit dance.:dance3: Saratoga Springs, here I come!:cool1:
 
I haven't done official exercise today or yesterday, but I spent 40min shovelling snow yesterday so I'm considering that my exercise. My sleep patterns are wacked out and I've having trouble getting to sleep at night, which shouldn't be a problem since I've reduced my coke drinking. :confused3

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get back on the WiiFit or the exercise bike. I've been drinking plenty of water, so that's a success. I've stayed away from the chocolates so that's another sucess. I'm learning to stay focussed on the small successes and not to give up after a small slip up. I had a coke this evening and really want another one, but its not worth it. I want to be healthy more than another coke.

Living where I do, I have never had to shovel snow. But I can only imagine that it would be one heck of a work out. So ::yes:: that counts as exercise.

I have had a pretty good week. I've done VERY well on drinking my water and journaling my meals and snacks. Exercise has been just ok. I've been suffering from lower back pain this week, but have been able to get some walking in on my lunch hour.

This is my first time participating with you all. I am attending WW and I have been doing well on the program (this is NOT my first time at this rodeo ;) ) but my loss this week didn't reflect what I thought it would. However, I will never never never give up.

Down 1.5 pounds. Not bad, not outstanding but I will take it!
What are you talking about 1.5 is a great loss. Remember this is NOT the BL like on TV. We do not have time to workout 8+ hours per day like they do. We will NEVER have 15 - 30 pound weekly losses. Take a look at most of the losers they have almost ALL gained weight back. BL1 winner has gained most/all his weight back. I will take a 1.5 loss that is gone forever over a 15 pound loss that will just come back.

But odly enough the scale has been really up and down.
This is exactly why I say do not wiegh more then once per week. Weight fluctuates so much from day to day, and even by time of day. It is affected by the foods we ate, how much exercise we got and how much sleep we had. Pick a day/time to weigh in and that is the only time you get on the scale. And remember our wiegh is only ONE (and the least important) measure of our progress. The more important one is how do we feel, how are our clothes fitting. Get a tape meausre and take a few measurements then in a few weeks take them again. THESE are the things that really show our progress.

When is our weigh in days???.
Officially it is Friday. But if you normally wiegh in on another day that is fine too. Just remember to send your wieght to Brenda (Dare2Dream) by Sunday night, so she has it when she does her calculations.
 
This is my first time being in this, so maybe I'm just confused. On the first page it mentions a weekly challenge. Is that something that is posted here or in another thread, or where do I find this?

I do not believe that we have a challenge this first week. The challanges will be posted to this thread usually on Thursday for a Friday start date (correct me if I am wrong). So keep an eye out for them.

COW Week 1

Ok I am trying a new version of the COW for BL7. I am calling it the progressive COW.

Here is a refresher of the COW rules in case you are new or forgot. I will post a new COW sometime every Thursday. Each challenge week begins 12:01 am Friday morning and runs till midnight Thursday night. I figure posting the COW on Thursday gives you a little time to “plan” out how best to complete the challenge before the clock starts. Please email or PM me your score by Monday morning of the following week. (So tomorrow’s challenge score is “due” the 19th, although I recommend you pm or email it to me on Friday when you email Brenda your weight.)

If you chose not to do the COWs at all, or only get around to doing a few items on the list that is perfectly fine. The idea is to get you thinking and doing new things on this road to a new you, not to stress you out.

So here is how this version will work. Every Thursday I will post a new task to add to the previous tasks. This should help you establish good habits during this BL. I got this idea from the 12 days of Christmas song actually. So,

Week 1 all you need is the partridge and the pear tree
Week 2 you will need the turtle doves and the partridge
Week 3 you need the French Hens, turtle doves and partridge
And it goes on

Maybe a mod will be nice enough to give me a sticky so it will be easier to keep track??

Okay, for the challange does only plain water count or can we count things such as herbal tea and non-calorie flavored water?

BTW I think the progressive challange idea is an awesome one. What a great way of instilling a foundation of healthy habits.
 
My name... Lisa (so how many does that make) and no I am not in my 30's turned that corner a few months ago... I can barely say I am in my 40's :eek: .

As far as the COW... I am not a huge water drinker but I try to do 1/2 water and 1/2 herbal tea or flavored water (no sugar, no calorie)... I follow WW and they say that is okay as long as 1/2 is pure water... I hope that is okay. But let me know if it isn't I am a rule follower so I will drink more straight water.

Good luck tomorrow everyone when we step on the scale... I have been trying to avoid it this week in hopes of a big number tomorrow... and by big any loss would be good with me :goodvibes
 
UGH! Life is always getting in the way...

My bartender just called in and my back-up is out of town. That means I have to bartend today. Which mean I won't get home until after 8pm making it a 12+ hour work day. That means I won't get to do my normal evening routine/workout. I will get on that treadmill while watching TV this evening.

Not sure what I will do about dinner. I didn't plan on this so I didn't bring anything. And the only things we have there are things like bagel dogs and frozen cheeseburgers. Hopefully I still have a can of soup stashed there. I guess I will have to restock my stash for these types of "emergencies".

I have been pretty good the last couple of days on my food and my exercise. Now I just need to keep more consistent about it and increase the exercise.

Today I woke up with a pain in my shoulder neck area and my stonach where the shingles were in Oct is causing me some pain. I think it is time to go home, get some advil, a cup of tea and the heating pad. That should help.

It is nice to see everyone doing so well. It has been fun reading all the reports. Just remember that this is still only the first week. The amount of people will decrease as the challenge goes on.

I like this one. I have not been drinking my water and this will get me back on track.

Maybe I'm really dense today, but from when to when does the COW run?

Yesterday was NOT a good day. I decided if I was going to stress eat junk that I had to stay within my points & limit it. Lunch & dinner were baked chips, mixed nuts & rolos. But I did stay within points for the day. UGH!!!! Improvement, but not much!!

I have no clue what the scale will say tomorrow. Earlier in the week I was down almost 3, but today I was back at starting point.

However, I know from much experience that my weight can fluctuate as much as 8 lbs literally overnight. I can weigh before bed and wake up 8 lbs HEAVIER. I'm also the only person I know who each of 3 pregnancies came out of the hospital weighing exactly 10 pounds MORE than when I was admitted before delivery! Gotta love my metabolism!

Hope everyone is having a great day! I'm really enjoying keeping up with this!

I love the idea of the progressive COW. I eliminated soda last week (huge Coke addict :sad2:), so I've been drinking lots of water. I don't think I'm up to 8 glasses a day though. This will be a great motivation to get that number up. :thumbsup2

Ack...now I have to find my DH's pedometer. I know he's got one around here somewhere. :)

I have been doing great with the water challenge. It helps that I work at a PT clinic and the water cooler is RIGHT next to my desk!

We are constantly filling up on water!

My tummy hurts this morning from my late night binging session. It was not pretty. Why do I do this to myself? I will not have a loss this week and that is what I am here for. I have many mental issues that I need to address. This certainly is a journey with many revelations and small steps along the way.
Brenda, thank you for admitting this. Believe me, we've all been there and we all recognize the dismay in your voice. There are many of us in exactly the same boat. :hug:

Question of the day: my name is Mary-Liz :rotfl2: Yep, I'm as creative as Debbie above, who happens to be my DSis. ;)

I've done the TM 3 times this week, 30-40 minutes each, and I had to drop something off yesterday at lunch so I walked over, about 25 minutes. :thumbsup2

Drinking my water is never an issue when I'm at work ... but I will struggle on weekends, so this is a great challenge for me to start with. Because I know if I can do it on the weekends, the rest of the week is easy!
